Very good, as always. Would it be possible for you to include the names of the knives in the videos? Because every time I share people ask me. They want to know if it's the climber, Hustman, Hyndman. Thanks for sharing.
@@nunyafuckinbizniz The file on my swiss champ is twisted as if someone tried to use it like a screw driver. The previous owner clearly mistreated the tool.
Is the file made of the same stainless steel as the rest of the knife or is it made of a hardened steel like a normal file? Files usually shatter instead of bending, because they are made of hardened steel.
Enjoyed that ! All my favorite SAK's have the metal/NAIL file... and of course a knife blade, scissors, and flat blade screwdriver. The retired (ain't that stupid ?) Trail Guide is my favorite, and I have modified them to add the Phillips screwdriver and magnifier layer and other mods.. My favorite EDC knife has always been the 74mm Executive (again stupidly retired by Victorinox), because it does everything I usually need on a daily basis and is super easy to carry... often have to repair a broken finger nail, hence the need for a file !
@@MSkachenite From what I can see, Victorinox currently offers the "Executive 81" that only has a blade, scissors, & nail file, and is shorter than the original 74mm Executive that has large & small blades, scissors, nail file, and orange peeler... they should have chosen a different name for it.
No, It's a file for metal, with one parallel diagonal lines in one side and crossed lines in the other, plus serrations in the torso. In the Classic SD is just a file for nails. BTW - The YT "Fit for survive" modify this nail file of 58mm SAK in an small wood saw, with double row of teeth.
Ngl all of these are really useful but aren’t you just showing us what the file was made to do? Isn’t very secret if the metal file is meant to file metal. Anyway great video and I keep coming back to these types of videos because I think they’re really interesting. Thanks 👍
The title of this video is misleading and FAR too melodramatic!!! These are not ""secret functions"" they're not secrets of ANY kind! They're things to do with a Swiss army knife, which, anyone who's ever owned a Swiss army knife for more than 6 months, will ALL know...!!!
Using the file to turn the stripped screw into a flat head is genius!

So using it on an Allen screw is the only thing I was unaware of. Thank you for that.
CAUTION: Using the file like a screw driver or pry tool can cause the file to bend.
Typically a file will break not bend

I know what model is being used, it is 'Victorinox Ranger'
Best for me,because I need the metal file and the chisel 😊!
3:18 - If you hold the nail in the vise from the headless side, it will hold better. 😉
where you get that Ferrel

I yesterday looked in Victorinox site. There still are Executive as an "active" produced knife.

@@airmojo I started to search SAKs last summer. I do not know, what was previous Executive.
YOU ARE ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO USE THE BACK OF THE FILE TO STRIKE THE FIRE ROD NOT THE TEETH
hello, thanks for your video, very interresting. best regards.
Я заменил бы пилу по дереву в моем ноже, на эту. Интересно, есть ли такая опция?
Can the file be used to sharpen higher quality fixed blade knives?
What Victorinox model are you using?
Probably the ranger
Ranger
Is this the same nail file present in Victorinox Classic SD ?

The Ranger and the Handy man have that file. Looks like the Ranger
@kravmaga501 The ranger is the same as a handyman,without pliers,but,with a pin hole!Ranger 5 layers-handyman 6 .l love ranger ❤.
Are the two sides of the file different or the same?
both crosscut, one finer, another rougher
Victorinox Fieldmaster And Süper Tinker Models Why File Non?🤔😒
"Hey, pst. Yes, you there. I have a secret use for the Metal Saw."
The Secret: sawing metal.
It's my favorite port
Das alles kann man mit der victorinox säge auch machen.
Mit der Holzsäge kann man aber keine Nägel zerschneiden und nicht feilen
👍👍👍
Why use the file to saw when you've got a saw
The saw is for wood. The metal saw is for metal.
Try using your wood saw for metal and you'll see why.
@@Trad. Hear what you're saying but he's not sawing metal he's sawing wood close grain wood I'll give you that but no your very much wrong

I frankly wouldn't want to put my expensive swiss army knife through that kind of abuse.
That's what it has been designed for.
