    I'm also up to my eyeballs in a Dolphin renovation. My problems are different.Mine is completely rotten floor among other things. I am doing it completely by myself. Would be very nice to have some competent help!
    Small suggestion in case you're still doing this. I bought a Rockwell Sonicrafter oscillating tool. I set on a low speed with a scraper attachment and it makes fast work of the old silicone, butyl tape, decals, etc. It's saved me hours. I can't imagine doing this without it.

      Hey there! Renovations are something else, aren’t they? Lol! We had to laugh a lot or we would have cried through a lot of it.
      100% on the oscillating tool…it was magic for dissecting out pieces of rotten framing. It would have been murmurous without it.
      For such small spaces, it sure does take a lot of time. Jeff (my other half) said if he were to do it again, he would have gutted the rig and started over instead of fixing things one section at a time.
      I hope your rebuild is going great! Can’t wait to see a completed project! Are you a member of the Toyota Motorhome Club -TMC on Facebook? Lots of friendly folks and a TON of information. Definitely join if you haven’t already. 😁😁

    I’m so thankful for this video I’m looking at buying a 1990 winnebago warrior and it’s good to see what you are going through. I can tell that Jeff is a smart guy! I’m not sure if the frame on the one I’m looking at is wood or aluminum though.

    Your video gave me the confidence to tackle my Dolphin. 2 weeks of rebuild and I think Im on the last one. Can you tell me the name of the seam tape you used?

    • @MichellsAdventures
      @MichellsAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s fantastic! I’m so glad that we could help someone see that it’s not as scary as it seems. Just take it one step at a time 😊😊
      We used the Dicor Corner Seal Kit. The tape comes in a few different widths but it’s sort of like eternabond tape but flexible so that it can shape and contour to the ripples of the siding on the motorhome.
      The whole kit is fantastic! We’ve been out in several heavy rainstorms and we are still leak free. Thank goodness 11/10 would recommend. Also, Jeff would be tempted to roll it off a cliff if it leaked after all that work 🤣

    This is exactly what I'm going through, I just removed the windows, broke out all the rotten wood.

      Man, it’s rough, isn’t it? It’s totally worth it though. We’re finally putting the final touches on ours. I’ve just been too busy with work to sit down and edit another video. *sad panda* When I can finally take some time off, I’ll be making more!

    I have an 84 dolphin that needs cabover rebuilt . could you give me a shopping list to do it?

    • @MichellsAdventures
      @MichellsAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, Since yours isn’t put together the exact same as ours, I can’t really give you a complete shopping list but I can give you an idea.
      Lots of 1x2’s, a few sheets of luan plywood, probably some 1/4” plywood, styrofoam insulation, construction adhesive, wood glue, way more screws than you think you’re gonna need, a few rolls of butyl tape, vinyl screw cover trim, new corner trim if you need it, non-sag lap sealant, dicor corner seal tape kit, primer, paint, replacement lights (inside and outside marker lights, wiring, heat shrink, zip ties, duct tape, curse words, blood, sweat, tears. aaaaannndddd all of the things I forgot to mention…and more screws. 😊😊

    Oooh boy, I am like I said in an earlier comment, I am going through the same tear apart and rebuild of the over cab, may I ask where you got the man with 'mad carpenter skills'.. lol jk..
    I need one of those... it's just me doing the whole thing... looks great you two.. I wish it took as long as your video did...lol, no such luck.

      Guys with mad carpenter skills…they’re hard to find. I picked mine up at a friends house almost 20 years ago. Lol We we’re friends for the better part of a decade and then finally decided to get together about 11 years ago 😁 He’s pretty flippin’ great.
      Good luck with your rebuild! You can do it! 😁❤️
