That generated A LOT of hate for him. Then it got even further muddied by a close win over Peter Yan rematch, then he beat a 1 armed TJ, but then got a good win over Cejudo, but a big lay off Cejudo. So people discredit him a lot for all of those combined things. I thing the second Yan fight and the Cejudo fight should be enough to credit that he is the real deal.
As a wrestler. Aljo been cutting weight and making weight for years knowing what his body is capable of, he definitely cut lots of weight in college mastering this brutal weight cut. No matter the circumstances CUT TO WIN🔥🙏

Life & death weight cuts are for someone in their 20s & early 30s...not for a millionaire in his mid 30s. That being said, Aljo literally just turned 34 & Sean is not that guy, so I just don't see Aljo losing this one. I believe the UFC saw Sean's ceiling vs. Chito Vera & Pedro Munoz. They decided to set up the fight with Petr Yan (in Abu Dhabi where there's no real Athletic Commission) & hot shot Sean to a title fight…if he’s standing at the end of the Yan fight he gets the decision. They knew he couldn't actually navigate his way through the top 10 & earn it. Losing this weekend ends up being the pinnacle of Sean's career IMO.
Let's be honest who else cuts 30lbs In bantam weight division and khabib who cut nearly 40lbs that doesn't sit right with me and the fact their styles are to out wrestle you but the weights gota play a big factor even with the skill? Same as usman the fact he was talking about moving up TWO divisions to fight Jan when he was champ.
