    TEXT (attributed to Pope Innocent III)
    Veni Sancte Spiritus (Come Holy Spirit)
    Come, Holy Spirit, from heaven shine forth
    with your glorious light.

    Veni Sancte Spiritus.
    Come from the four winds, O Spirit,

    come breath of God;

    Disperse the shadows over us,
    renew and strengthen your people.
    Veni Sancte Spiritus.
    You are our only comforter,

    peace of the soul.
    In the heat you shade us;
    in our labor you refresh us,
    And in trouble you are our strength.
    Veni Sancte Spiritus.
    Kindle in our heart the flame of your love,

    that in the darkness of the world

    it may glow and reach to all, forever.
    Veni Sancte Spiritus.
    Soloists: Lisa Martin, David Miller, Drew Roth, Annalisa Byler

    WOW Mennonites listening to Catholic music. The Lord is coming soon. We're all going to be together. I'm so grateful for that!
    What a beautiful video and Chorale.

    Can you explain why a Mennonite choir sings Catholic hymns? I don't understand. While it's true that the Taizé Community was founded by a Protestant pastor, ecumenism has led it to adopt a very Catholic orientation.

      It's not as surprising as you might think. There are a number of common Catholic hymns. While Catholics and Protestants and Mennonites do differ in some important ways, they share a common Orthodoxy and Scripture leading to significant overlap. We are unwilling to base our choice of music on denominational considerations and while ecumenicism is not our goal, we appreciate the work of people from many denominations.

      We are to be one holy, catholic church (NOT Roman but universal) Once that happens then the Kingdom will return. Amen. Mennonites, you have blessed this Anglican. Chris x
