Imagine with car tires If they continue to slide or refuse to stop in dangerous weather, that means the tires have no traction. Traction with shoes should literally stop you on a dime while supporting all parts of the foot/ankle

A shoe can have bad traction and can still cause ankle rolls and injuries, and a shoe with too good of a traction can "still" cause injuries like stopping too hard on a movement.
