Loved this programme, I remember watching this episode when I was in bed with gastroenteritis, great introduction and narration by the late Edward Woodward.
I had trouble sleeping as a kid after seeing these episodes back in the day!!!! :( I always remembered that story of the boxer, even though I only saw it once as an 8 year old!!!! And I see Freddie was played by Michael Melia, a.k.a. Eddie Royle from Eastenders!!!! :O It's nice that later in 1992, ITV showed Gladiators, so I could forget about scary series like this after being exposed to the glamour of Gladiator Jet!!!
I saw an old B movie the other day with Lois Maxwell, original Miss Moneypenny, and Freddie Mills was playing the lead henchman and he was pretty good too even if you had to take him getting knocked out by an ageing American journalist with a barrel full of salt.
Edward Woodward had the most perfect English voice to engage you in these fascinating historical stories.
Hi, between 1969 and 1972 Edward Woodwood was one of my father's customers at a service/filling station between East Grinstead and Tunbridge Wells.

I loved, and I mean had a huge crush on him when I was about 16. Bit miffed when he married Michelle Dotrice later on because were a similar age 😂
Love all these programmes
So interesting

Obviously a lot is missing from these dramas, particularly the last one. Poor, little Manfred. RIP Freddie Mills and Manfred.
