Interesting. The chap that made comment about feeling he has to adjust his behaviour, should be aware that he isn't hired for 'being him', but for the skills he brings to the employer. I'd say 99% of people are expected to demonstrate appropriate behaviours within their job role. You weren't hired to be you (whatever that is) you were hired to perform and be professional whilst undertaking that role.
The other chap who suggested he feels he may not have got an interview due to his name et al, should be aware that most employers, especially medium to large employers use what's known as "blind recruitment", where the selection panel select for interview solely on your experience/qualifications, all/any personal info is removed from the recruitment selection process, including ethnicity, gender, disability and sexuality.

Blind applications is actually not that common, I find that most companies who use blind process will advertise it.

@@iolatunji18 Most I've had experience of don't advertise it, it is an internal HR led policy. Still, granted, I don't know the internal policy of every M>L company. 👍

@@BusterCapInYoAss Every job I have ever applied for has called and asked for me by name or emailed me with my name. How do they "Blind Recruit" and contact you for an interview? Do you get an applicant number? I'm sorry but this is sounding like nonsense that you made up. At some point in the process the applicant has to be unmasked for lack of a better word. Then human bias comes in.
