Took 12 years to complete. When the government has announced that they are building the first metro in HCMC more than 12 years ago. Many elderly people were very happy and looking forward to have a chance to try the metro at least once in their lifetime. But it has tooks 12 years to complete which they promised that they will not take longer than 5 years. It is so unfortunate that many of the elderly people could not live long enough to have a chance to try the metro before they depart this world. Anyway, congratulations to Vietnam and all Vietnamese for this newly completed metro.
Such a deep sadness for those who couldn't wait until this day. The first step is always the hardest, and we Vietnamese believe in a bright future for our nation.
And also the MTR style enter/exit arrow in front of the train doors! (Not sure if its MTR exclusive or not) This metro line just reminds me of MTR so much!
It is quite expensive for each kilo compare to those metro lines at other countries in Asia, and this is LRT and construction labor is cheaper, so need to find out the problem.
corruption, incompetence, bribery, lack of infrastructure, flooding, Communist gov't stole the lands from the people, Metro top employees are communist members, relatives of high ranking officials, and who have paid bribes to get construction contracts... Communist party members have to skim the top as expected...

It's purpose is chiefly for local commuters. If the authorities can eventually build a line in the direction of Tan Son Nhat airport that would be great.

@@robertnew4568 not fair comparison don't you think, Vietnam has very late starting point compare to Thailand, also different development mindset. Vietnam has 2 big cities and not focus too much wealth on capital unlike Thailand. Now Hanoi has 2 lines, HCMC has 1 line. We also don't take Bangkok as good model, so we don't bother.
Took Vietnam 17 years to build a single urban metro line while China built over 45,000 km of high speed rail across the country during this time frame. 😂 🤣

これで、この路線の番組みたの何本目かな？ 日本人なんで、とっても喜ばしい。でも、見たことのあるデザイン、仕様、やっぱり全部にほんメーカーなんだろうな。と、感じました。特に、国道をまたぐ歩道。他のところにも、そういった歩道をベトナムにありますが、駅周辺の作りは、現在の日本のトレンドを取り入れている。新宿とか、横浜、など新設されている部分とよくにている。大昔（７０年代）、絵本に車が走る道路と、歩道が分離して、空中散歩するような施設が未来の姿として、描かれていました。まさに、ベトナムも、そのような施設が増えるのでしょう。そのきっかけになればいい。
でもさ、の本のホームドアはほどんどが ガラス（アクリル板など強化プラスチックかもしれない）は使われていない。ダサい。こっちはガラスを多用して、いかにも近代的。本家がダサいなんて？？
今は、ベトナム人と働いている。故郷の方が、近代的になっているよ、と見せた所です。

十几年才建得14个站台，这速度蜗牛都比较快，车站还那么简陋，哈哈哈……！
要是在中国国内，同样的资金建设得比这个漂亮几倍。广西南宁市2012年开始建设地铁到2024年已经开通5条地铁线，110个站台，全部是挖底下通道，还经过河流和湖泊，难度比这个大多了。看来全世界除了中国国内的建设速度快，外国真的是磨洋工，哈哈。

越南跟泰国对比会合理一点. 泰国的bts也是这种模式, 这种在路面建造的铁路佔用土地, 另外越南也会打风, 可能影响铁路营运
