    Hey, Liron in 1:25 you told it should show "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling".
    But in mine, it only shows the heading of "Graphics performance preference."
    Any help?

    • @sachinvinodlk
      @sachinvinodlk 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The new GPU scheduler will be supported on recent GPUs that have the necessary hardware, combined with a WDDMv2.7 driver that exposes this support to Windows, says Microsoft. While some GPUs have the necessary hardware, the associated driver exposing this support will only be released once it has gone through a significant amount of testing.
      So if you do not see this feature, maybe your hardware does not support it yet. You need to wait.

    Hi, I'm always wondering how you could save and restore a bunch your windows settings or even better lock them so that other programs and updates could not modify them, because quite often it happens that they will bw messed up without you even noticing . Restoring would be very useful after re-installing Windows in order to save a lot of time otherwise spent on tweaking. It is quite frustrating when you have spent a lot of time for improving and customizing your Windows and then something will change that soon after not only once but many times never ending!

    Mostly worthless tips. The best way to improve perfomance of an older computer running Win 10 or 11 is to change the system drive to an SSD. Then (if you install a new Windows or clone an installation to the new drive) make sure the new/cloned system is running with a GPT partition system. Easy to check with Disk Management by right clicking the "Disk 0" or "Disk 1" in the table on the bottom and seeing if there is a "Convert to MBR" or "Convert to GPT" option. If it offers you to convert to MBR, then it's fine, you're running GPT partition table style. If your system drive is however running with MBR, then you either installed Windows in a wrong way (including wrong BIOS settings for the SSD drive) or you need to convert your cloned system into GPT (which is hard).
    In any case, running off the SSD with GPT and AHCI driver can shoot up SSD performance by 30 percent. As it did in my case with this cloned Win10 system that I have converted to GPT partition style. Days of research and hard-core experience went into this.
    Other than that, the best way to increase a PC performance is to buy a graphics card with a newer GPU chip (always compare your graphics card to a low-end current-gen architecture card). For example, Nvidia GP108 chip card with Pascal architecture helped with youtube playback here tremendously.
    Also increasing PC RAM and putting it with at least 2 memory sticks into dual-channel mode helps pretty well. Of course any CPU upgrade to a newer core architecture helps also. It's not that difficult to upgrade PCs once you dedicate to it and start checking out various possibilities.

    Some Windows setups will not recognize that the modern hardware can handle high performance and will revert to balanced each and every time the computer is booted. For Ryzen 3 processors this is especially so. So then if you want to use Ryzen High Performance it may be necessary to go into the Windows Terminal / Command Center depending on your build to DELETE the balanced power settings from the choices!

      @@LPspiceolife Aight, thanks for taking time to clarify...respect for that.
      As far as Windows version, it is 100% the latest. Been building my own rigs since 1991. I'm no tech-Jesus but I do know my way around a bit.
      I just built a new rig 3 weeks ago and the first thing I do before adding in all the day to day software, is update the OS and every bit of hardware drivers in the machine to be absolutely certain any anomalies that pop up are not because I forgot to update anything.
      So, the OS, MOBO, GPU, etc all have the latest drivers.
      That said, I've noticed some things seem to be hidden and other things are not there at all....like this particular annoyance that sparked our convo. Weird, I know, but again is why I asked "what am I not doing".
      Admittedly I was one of the last holdouts to getting WIN10, having operated WIN7 until my last rig committed seppuku (the PSU overvolted and blew the system), so I'm feeling out WIN10 still.
