Spending a week with Mike @slowesttacoma gave me alot of confidence in this platform. We beat up our tacos for the last 8 days in Utah and now he is driving home to Fresno and I'm my way back to Washington... with no trailers! That's a new concept for me because as many of you know I trailer everything else but the gladiator. I hope you enjoy this behind the scenes look at Mike's passion for these trucks. Thank you for watching 🙌
I have to say I really love the video. I really liked how it was filmed just sitting there by campfire telling us about his rig and the shots of this Toyota on the trail.
Thank you so much 🙏 I actually shot this a few different ways because I wasn't happy with the first walk around format we did. Glad to see you appreciate this style! Would you like to see more videos like this?
@@DirtLifestyle It was really well done, and I noticed I never once heard your voice asking him anything. but he did such a good job getting the point across, it wasnt really needed.
Most people don’t go off-road. My Chevy ZR2 sees light trails & is built for road trips. I’ll smoke this Japanese truck in most settings, short of rock crawling. Nobody cares, because it’s all about individual use. If I wanted a rock crawler, then I’d get a FORD 🇺🇸 Bronco or Jeep 🇺🇸🇮🇹🇫🇷Rubicon. I sure as heck wouldn’t give more market share to Japan.
There’s so many Tacoma people (like me) who are scared to start cutting into and heavily modifying a truck that just put a $40k+ dent in the wallet. This white MC Tacoma and Nate’s are definitely the coolest 3rd gens I’ve seen. I’m glad that you guys have the guts to go hammer on these expensive new trucks because it’s really cool to see just how capable they can become. Love all the content Nate, especially the Tacoma stuff, keep it up brother! 🤘🏻
Nate, Your talent seems to be limitless on and off the trail as a Fabricator, Videographer, and family man. Hats off to you, Mike, and the entire Marlin Crawler “family/staff” as they truly embody the spirit of quality in a form follows function approach to crawling. Good luck on the trails🙌🏾
Outstanding breakdown of Big Mike's build. This is what wheelers do after a trail run. Sit by the campfire and talk about the obstacles on the trail, and the mods done to their rigs, The hard work and engineering back at the garage pays off, and the camaraderie of sharing the whole experience with your buddies is priceless. Well done!
Love how you cut this video together. The video did a great job of showcasing the truck and Mike’s passion for his off-road toy without being the standard walk around pointing at parts. Super cool taco and an amazing video.
Great to hear Big Mike's build story! It's been a joy to see him continue the legacy of his dad and push things farther then most of us could imagine with these modern platforms. Would be cool to see an interview with Marlin himself if he is up for it!
Feel free to do more videos like this, just campfire talk with b-roll. Nice to see other's rigs once in a while in an intimate "chat like" setting. And Love the Taco.
My first and only comment on any platform! As I consider Marlin, Christine, and Mike family. This video put a lump in my throat. I love your channel and your content. But your commitment to family, quality, and one off rigs is refreshing! Way to go Nate! 😎
Nate really does make the best build or “walk around” videos. This one is no exception. Look up his video for Marvin’s Jeepster build if you haven’t watched it yet.
Cool to hear him talk about his build, I remember reading his build thread and seeing how he bobbed the bed. I would have liked to hear about the bobbed bed because that's pretty unique on 3rd gens. I'd rather watch a video on something like this that goes out and beats trails every day than some SEMA special full of flashy gadgets.
Way back in the early '90, didn't Marlin figure out a way to make a ratio 0f 1154:1? He even tried turning his truck frame into a compressed-air storage tank. That guy is Legend.
I really like that you have been doing something with the IFS. Mike has done what nobody else will do and that is prove that IFS can work. I remember when ultimate off road adventure took a first gen ford f150 with a ecoboost and custom built a IFS for it. For this event they always run 40's. They beat the piss out of the front end. There take away is ultimately there was no real huge difference between solid and IFS. It would be more personal. After that my view changed on IFS. Ford has proven with the Raptor that IFS won't fall apart. As you mentioned about the level of ground clearance you can attain shows that with somebody like thinking out side the box there is lots of room to work. There is in Canada some older videos on youtube of an aluminum tubbed FJ45 with 46's running 4 wheel independent suspension in the snow.
That is my dream truck to the smallest detail. I like older ones because the wheeling abilities but new ones have grown on me but omg I’m super jealous
Thanks @dirtlifestyle for doing this video. I followed Mike closely when he was designing the RCLT, sou know the story, but really wish there was more footage of the truck in use, and you provided it! Thank you!
Watching this definitely makes me miss my 82 Toyota and my 2019 tacoma. Both did amazing off and on road. My only complaint with the trucks was fuel economy, but at the end of the day who cares when you’re running 37s. I knew the clearance problem was going to be talked about lol.
Watching from Australia and this thing is just so cool. We would have to trailer your rock crawlers everywhere as our modification laws are so stringent we’d never get away with driving them on the street never mind daily driving on 40s😂😂
The 3rd Gen Tacomas look so good. I’m not really sold on the 4th gen ones. I love my Tacoma and can’t wait to put a lift on mine and start hitting some trails. I don’t plan on pushing my truck nearly as far as y’all do but it’s cool to see how much you can do with these trucks even if they aren’t the perfect setup like a gladiator or the other jeeps

@@FlawedOffroad good point. It really shows quality of the video.
@@DirtLifestyle Enjoyed the way you filmed everything and edited it together very relaxing vibe
@@DirtLifestyle absolutely!!!
It’s nice to see a nicely built Tacoma. I’m so tired of seeing those Soft Roader Overland Tacoma builds that just carry too much crap
Lol you sound like me. Not enough innovation with this platform. Mike is pretty much the only one making an effort to maximize these trucks.
@@DirtLifestyle and now nate pickle too 👍🏽

@@krasnaludek298 your trying to make a point , but come off as a arrogant and ignorant.Congrats your “that guy”
For real , i thought i was the only one that thought that way. Im not a hater in any way ,but its overkill with all the weight they add

You gotta be into wheelin, if your scared to cut then your scared to go big
I really enjoyed the format of this one. Builds are cool, but the stories that spawn the builds are too.

These types of storyteller episodes are really awesome you should definitely consider doing more of these throughout the year. Great job as always
what a beautiful set up for the monologue . the setting .
Your definitely our leader for us Tacoma owners!!!
Nate really does make the best build or “walk around” videos. This one is no exception. Look up his video for Marvin’s Jeepster build if you haven’t watched it yet.
Man this truck has came a long way from when I first started following him on instagram
He has done a great job 👏
Awesome video, IMHO The Czajkowski"s are some of the first pioneers in the crawl world.
580:1??? That triple reducer alone could have been an 11 min video, good god.
Lol for sure
The best thing about all the gearing you can match the winch speed with tire speed in the worst of the worst recoverys.
You should see Big Mikes video of this 2016 in 580 slow doing the worlds slowest burnout resting against a curb lol
I saw y’all on 84 nw in Idaho today your yota looks sick !! Keep up the great work !
Great video Nate. Mikes story on the build is good and the way you edited all together is great. This is the modern day “build thread”
Love campfire stories.😃Beautiful taco.
This video gave me chills. Awesome job
Dude I have been waiting for this interview and explanation for so long! Keep up the good work Nate!
Thanks for sharing this with us Nate.
Wow.. this might be the best rig walk around I've ever seen! editing, footage, and background music👌
oh and what a rad truck!
Wow, that air suspsension looks insane.
Not only a great story, but a great story teller!
Love this video! Your two Tacomas are my favorite. Great story too really enjoyed that

The forced articulation with hydraulic cylinders is a cool idea!
That rig sounds great Mike!!! Enjoy getting lost with it👍🏻👍🏻
I love these cinematography pieces you make just so awesome
Way back in the early '90, didn't Marlin figure out a way to make a ratio 0f 1154:1?

Sweet video. I wish it was longer. Same with your building shop videos.
My first vehicle I owned what is a 99 Tacoma Access cab. Four-cylinder five-speed and that truck was awesome

Waiting on my RCLT HD for my TRD Pro 4 Runner now... starting with 37's ...but the goal is 40's !
Thanks @dirtlifestyle for doing this video. I followed Mike closely when he was designing the RCLT, sou know the story, but really wish there was more footage of the truck in use, and you provided it! Thank you!
We ran into you guys at the top of devils crack on the rim you can see our white jeeps in there. Super neat truck! Awesome chatting with Mike.

I can’t wait to get my kit.
Awesome truck man!! Wish dirt lifestyle would show case my 2010 Tacoma TRD off-road D-4D diesel!! 👍👊
Thanks for another entertaining video, so stoked you went with Mike’s RCLT system both of your trucks are insane, now you need a Tacobox🤙🏽
I love this autobiography style video around the camp fire 🔥 👌
Awesome build! I've seen this truck in action and it's truly on another level.
That a badass Tacoma see it all the time around town and his coworker have a double cab with 37 too…beast Tacoma guys
Love my Taco, love yours more. Time and money it will get there. Thanks
Winches are for getting stuck... I guess Mike has never got stuck with his taco! Good wheeling!
Saw Jason from AutoEdits in there! Awesome vid!
Thanks for showing us another great truck.. this one seems the business !
Mike's a cool dude. Always try to get parts from him if they carry them 👍🍺
I love them as a company. GREAT people
Super cool rig and great guy. Great video
I just caught video of a Taco on 40s with some of those same parts here in CO!!!!! It was an auto 2018!!!!!!
Not into this build at all, but this was super interesting! Thanks for sharing Nate
"I cant rock crawl an auto, its just not in my blood" Love it! Love the channel content!
Great video!
Nice work on this video Nate
Such a beautiful episode! Thanks Nate and Mike for sharing with us!
Great walk around impressive editing

awesome video! would be amazing to see a walk around of his dads legendary red yoder
This rig is sick
Nice to hear someone else prefers manual trans.
Yesss!
Yup
My biggest regret on my Tacoma is not buying one with a Manual...
@@DirtLifestyle I feel it's almost sacrilege to sell a Tacoma with an auto trans... 😉
What a great talk. 👍
Awesome video! Love this!
Fantastic video!
I just wish I could make my 83 look like Mike's :)
This is DL's best video ever.
Really cool video, thanks
Hell yeah... nicely done!
Fresno!!!! Woot Woot!! sick rig man! goals!
Awesome rig
Thats an amazing build, the ram set up is such an insanely awesome idea!!!
That’s a cool build.
Great, great video! Would love to see more like this. Also when is the how to make a simple loop in your winch rope video coming out? 😊
Nice to see someone do this with a Tacoma.
Wow what a truck
The 3rd Gen Tacomas look so good. I’m not really sold on the 4th gen ones. I love my Tacoma and can’t wait to put a lift on mine and start hitting some trails. Love my Tacoma and love your channel
Thank you!
Epic truck and an inspiring story. Well done man 🤟
Great story
Sweet video man🤘🏼
That's an awesome Rig! Love the suspension setup that you can suck either side down or push it up is amazing I bet angles don't matter as much.
Amazing build
My man! Waited a year for my manual.
Great video. Really enjoyed all aspects of the story and build. The only negative is that it didn’t make me want a Taco less.
i love that rear bumper and muffler setup!
Great Video 👍
Awesome Truck!!! 💯
Sweet ride
I was just thinking of doing a pneumatic air ram on my ranger the other day. That's so cool.
Best built tacoma out there
