So many smart moves from Max. Transitioning so easily in front of those two mini breakaway riders at 7KM was so smooth and all the drafting he did beforehand made that 800 watts look so effortless and sustained
@@DrewKime Spoiler alert - don't continue reading if you don't want to know! It was actually a bit anticlimactic; Max was in a break, about to get swarmed, then a van turned up in a corner, in between the break and the pack, pack went into neutralized-mode, Max attacked the break and got the W...
Your racing footage is very educating and absolutely awesome too watch. Thanks for sharing this and i have deep respect. You guys are so strong. Max is awesome. How long has he been cycling? I just started 3 months ago and i am very eager to start getting into races next year. This channel is motivating me a lot. Greetings from germany!
Well done Max. So many times Jeff is in no-ones wheel. It could just be the bits of video shown but almost every time Jeffcam makes an appearance there is no drafting being done. :( I can't watch a video and not see that RV parked there every lap now :(
Great one as always Jeff. I have a video request which is to compare souke vs rapha kits (both pro team training and pro team racing) and specialized vs s works sl7 and lastly sram force vs sram red. It would be great
It's funny to me that your heart rate it's so awesome at the beginning of the ride, under 100. Mine before getting on the bike it's already at 110 BPM, LOL!!!! :-)
@@calebgonsalves2970 no its because Mikes Bikes got bought by the company that also owns Cervelo and Focus and seems like Specialized didnt want to support rival brands. Also Specialized is reportedly going the Canyon route with direct sales and shipping, cutting out the bike shops
Hey Jeff! I was wondering what your GoPro settings are for the chest mount. I feel like when using 1080 superwide (widest) it captures a little to much of the bike. Could you possibly share you settings?
A pretty big factor in your NP difference, I think, is Jeff spending a lot of his time in the hoods(without bent elbows) even when driving the front or sprinting. Perhaps that's something to work on as it's a general trend for Jeff in all videos.
Are these races on open public roads? How many times are there accidents with cars uninvolved in the race? Where I live in the Netherlands it's forbidden to organize a race on open public roads, it is always closed when we race.
Thanks for having me on it was super fun! As a great cyclist in NorCal once told me, this sport comes alive once you work together in groups. Couldn't have done it without all the riders in the final break!
I feel like one of the reasons that you're doing 80w more than Max is because he's way more aero than you. He seems to always be on the drops as does ALL of your competitors and you're always ALWAYS on your hoods. Sure your bike might be faster but that's only something like 16% of your drag and on a course as flat as this I doubt weight would be a factor too.
This wasnt an age and fitness thing - this kid knew all the moves and played it out. Jeff literally breaks down his plays and strategy on every win and shows how all the moves occur up front. This kid knew he could count on that and made a great move. This was all strategy - this was actually a great win because now the whole race dynamic will need to shift.
Why are you always talking only about normalized power? I don't know like what is wahoo nornalized power (if wahoo calculates it), but garmin np is absolutely bullshit. I remember when my 20 min ftp was ~240, i could easily get 2 hours np ~250! So now i don't even look at np.
So crafty and chill "that was my last pull.. they just don't know it yet" LOL
I think it is epic how humble you are and give credit to Max for winning! True sportsmanship :)
Getting the guy that ended your streak on your channel - great stuff!
Max is dope!! Really enjoyed hearing his perspective.
Really nice to see Jeff lose for once but I'm really impressed by Max's effort and thinking, especially with how he did last week
So many smart moves from Max. Transitioning so easily in front of those two mini breakaway riders at 7KM was so smooth and all the drafting he did beforehand made that 800 watts look so effortless and sustained
... and the plot thickens!! Heavy is the crown!
Great race all around. Cant wait to see how the next race plays out 👍👍
Jeff is a marked guy and can't really pull off what Max just did anymore😂
After this, I suspect *Max* won't be able to pull off what Max just did any more.
@@DrewKime Actually, Max just did, a couple hours ago... though he was somewhat assisted by a loose van on the course
@@zenoiz I hope they've got video, that sounds like fun.

Great video! Love the 2 camera breakdown. Super cool to see how it played out that way. Awesome racing by Max too. So clever
Jeff: "I HAVE to chase this"
Max: "I'm just chillin' in the back"
Jeff, you might need to test that assumption...
A lesson in fantastic sportsmanship. Good on you, Jeff!
Wow, what a great race and video breakdown!

Great racing out there! It will be interesting to see how things go for Max now that he has a target on his back.
Really enjoyed this one!! It's great to see both persepectives in the same race.

@@carlos_g2 whoops! Replied to the wrong comment!
Great vid, good job Max! I bet Jeff learned a bunch from this so next Alviso won't play out the same!
Great episode of 'Viso, as always
This was awesome. Thanks for sharing!
Nice move. Calculated and deadly.
I guess your last ride with the Specialized bike. Looking forward to seeing what you can do on the $200 Walmart road bike!
MAX!! Well Done
Would love to see Jeff roll up to Seattle and do a Seward park crit
Max is giga-brained. So many wrinkles. Too bad his normalized is almost double my FTP
really nice to see someone else take a dub
There seemed to be more crossing of the double yellow lines this week than other weeks.
Wow Max got it? Congrats man.
Efficient racing. Nicely done! He didn't even need a full gas sprint to win
I just wanna say thanks for that KPH indicator
I'm going to notice that "famous RV" in every alviso video from now on.
In this Episode of Alviso:
Jeff, suffering from success
Solid Max!
The King is dead! Long live the King!!

There's a new boy in town 😯
194 bpm too ... congrats ... that was epic
Tim's definately a bro
Max needs to start his own TH-cam channel
Pretty sure this is Max's channel th-cam.com/channels/0pKw6UqxWNDeqKb8SyWTCQ.html
jeff is still plenty strong no matter the age, but max played that expertly!
Cognition represent!
Great race and even better commentary! Can you tell us what camera Max was using as it seemed to flatten any lean over in the corners? Thanks again
GoPro Hero9 with Horizon Lock. Standard lens. Looking forward to the Hero10.

A few years of endurance riding should change that
All hail king Max!
So are we not going to talk about Mikes Bikes getting their Specialized sponsorship contract chopped?
Probably gonna ride either Cervelo or Focus now
I heard they signed contracts with rival bike companies.... Doesn't seem completely unjustified but still ridiculous nonetheless

Where are you guys racing? we want to go..
Hey Jeff! I was wondering what your GoPro settings are for the chest mount. I feel like when using 1080 superwide (widest) it captures a little to much of the bike. Could you possibly share you settings?
You need to tilt the GoPro way up, like just past 45deg vs the chest plate. I use 1440p (2.7K) and SuperView.
Nice riding from Max but he was totally playing poker there. When the race isn't on your terms sometimes you just lose.
Hi jeff what is your chainring ratios?
the theatre of it! pure drama these days in the world of NorCal spin-offs.
It's gonna be weird seeing you on something other than an s-works next year now that specialized dropped mikes bikes!
sounds as though it was the other way around...
Did you read there email?
Do they race on open roads?
Yes
Top speed of your tarmac??
Need some of those tactics to beat legion
How long did this race last?
What was it? Slow is smooth, smooth is fast?
Do watts per kg not outright watts

Jeff gets beat by a Cat 3?! It seems as though his age is taking a toll on his performance
never underestimate a dude saying "im just chilling in the draft" just cus ur young doesnt mean ur dumb
