Mitch is the Founding Creative Director of Theatre Avenue, an art and animation studio which produces digital projections for theatre and ballet shows. He has designed projections internationally for 8 years, for productions such as Willy Wonka, Swan Lake, The Wizard of Oz, Annie, Lion King, and beyond. Mitch earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Ball State University, where he studied drawing, computer animation and design.

You mentioned a link to the rear projector you got from Amazon - but I'm not seeing it. Could you provide the make/model? Or any newer recommendations for a low-budget production? Thanks!
If I didn't say it clearly there, main things you want to shop for are lumens (brightness) as close to 5,000 and up. And then a short throw lens, which cuts down the distance the projector has to be back from the surface to produce a large image. Hope this helps! -Mitch

I am currently creating 3 projector screens as backdrop for a play in an elementary school. Any recommendations of an affordable device to project an image and spread that image on 3 projector screens? How about for 4 projector screens? I will be using a Hp laptop.

We are working on a children's festival program. Where we will show introduction videos and slides during the show on screen. The files are huge. What laptop would be a good fit to run these shows? And also is there any software that runs and manage these shows other than powerpoint or keynote? Because I don't want to change the quality of the images. thank in advance.

Can you project raster art? Or does it have to be vector? I find it hard to use vector and raster gives me more of the painted scenery vibe that I need for pantomime.
Great question! You can project any kind of art, so long as the image doesn't show as 'pixelated' or low quality when you blow it up to a large size. Unless of course that's the look you want:) If you use rasterized images I would recommend higher quality, like 1920x1080 pixels or even higher, once again depending on the look you're after. And remember, your audience is sitting a ways back from the screen or surface usually so your image doesn't have to be razor sharp. Hope this helps -Mitch
Have you tried using a digital camera to multipixelate an illustration or painting and project that 50MB composite ?
