The 3s are where he slots into the offense on an NBA team, but that's only part of the story lol. I watched him score 30+ points live in person multiple times in college at Utah State, and only a fraction of his shots were 3s ... his 2 point shots, driving the lane, and backcuts to the rim won him a all-Mountain West honors. Then he played multiple complete games, as in every minute of entire games, back-to-back-to back during the Mountain West Tournament, AND hit the game winning shot at the end of regulation! We always knew he would find a way to make an NBA Roster somewhere. Glad to see he has a home in Cleveland.
This video is actually hilarious when you look at all the defenders who are desperately trying to disrupt Sam’s shot over and over to no avail. So many guys sprinting on closeouts with arms flailing. You can tell they all know the scouting report says that if you give Sam ANY room to shoot it’s a bucket. And as well as Sam shoots, he does not get NEARLY enough credit for how he relocates off passes and constantly moves off the ball to get open. He does that as well as anyone.
90% of his shots last season were from 3 and he shot 40% from 3. The crazy part is his overall FG% is 40% too because he shot 13/39 from 2 so is that a good thing or a bad thing lol
