No gimmicky features, complicated menus, crazy high megapixel and no video. All for a good reason because the D700 has one job and that job is helping you to create the best picture you can capture. Images from the D700 feel different, special and has very natural, organic color. Sharpness is never a issue with only 12MP and the large photosites absorb and respond well to light. The feel and weight of the D700 feels like a bygone era of when cameras were built like tanks. The magnesium shell is thick, the weight brings stability especially with heavier lenses and the large grip makes it easy to carry. Used prices are very good, buy them and enjoy them until the very end. There won't be anything else like the D700.
I shoot a D800 from 2012 till this year (2022) and just get a D700. It truly refreshes my photography again. D700 makes me want to go out and shoot with passion again due to its color rendition. LEGEND!!!
Almost 1/2 way through 2023, with the Z9 almost never more than hands grab away, and the D850/D500 gathering more dust than they should, this week I picked up the D700 once again, to relearn the camera, and remind myself of the feeling I had when I picked it up (my first digital camera) for a few hundred dollars 5 years ago. Now, I can appreciate where things have gone, but also where they were. "Dynamic 51 point auto-focus" with 3D tracking . Really, now. The camera feels old, but solid. The LCD, begging to be updated. That one card slot thing. The shutter slap might outduel a Harley...well, perhaps I embellish a bit. For the speed of wildlife, action, and sports the Z9 has provided much of the speed I have needed. The no blackout EVF and silent shooting, button mapping, and versatility, make my D850 and D500 jealous. However, putting the D700 in hand, with no particular rush or project, the files and images brought that smile to my face, the one that I had when I saw the first images off this sensor. I decided to get a bit crazy, and combined the D700 with an equally old, but legacy piece of glass, the 200mm f/2. I shared those images with my friends and they were surprised when they heard the camera that made them. I liked the way it allowed me to slow my thoughts, and enjoy taking my time, and frame the shot. In all honesty, I can't see using it when I am pressed for time or have to capture action. The Z9 is a beast in that venue. But there is still something about the D700, and the look of the images, that remind you of why this camera and sensor were so popular, and why the images created with them won so many photographic contests.
That’s a huge response. I’m a bit jealous of your camera collection but still love my D700 enough to not need to upgrade it yet. If I were a professional photographer doing any outdoor photography I’d definitely upgrade. I find the D700 does most of what I need. I love it. Thanks you for sharing your experiences.
@@hachewie I do understand, and the D700 still holds a special place in my photographic heart. If it brings you joy, by all means, keep shooting with it. I'll leave you with one other thought. When taking portraits, and using glass with shallow apertures (105mm f/1.4, 200mm f/2), the AF of finding the subjects eye is extremely fast (even on f-mount glass) and accurate. It makes the experience for the subject and shooter, a bit quicker and less painful. ;-) Keep posting and thanks for the response as well.
I’m no blogger, no TH-camr, just a photographer. Modern mirrorless cameras are a gem for videographers. Not to me. Great to have a photo camera that cannot create videos. My most modern camera dates from 2013. Tomorrow my d700 should arrive. Can’t wait!
I bought my D3 and D700 new in 2007-2008 for shooting weddings. But I found both to be amazing. I moved to model portfolios and street photography in New York City and quickly became famous for my images. More recently I bought a Z7 which missed having 3D focus tracking so it rests in my equipment closet unless I shoot sports. And the colors of the Z7 were not as good as my older gear. The D3 uses the same sensor as the D700 but with a smaller viewfinder view. The D3 now that I am 83 years old seems mysteriously heavy.
You are probably the first famous photographer to watch my video. Thank you. Thank you for sharing your story here also. I’ll be sure to look up your work. The D3 is an enormous beast. I hope I reach your age.
@@hachewie - Er wait. I am not famous to many people that are not in the industry or art of photography. I was popular with models and it was because of the cameras and their use with 3D Focus Tracking. Newer Nikons do not have that feature but it is said that the Z8 is one that does have it. Many of us made a lot of noise and the heads of the corporations “Uh Oh” panel must have notified the “Oh Hell” group.
I recently acquired a D700 - it has become my favourite everyday Camera. I use mine with The Nikkor 28-70mm and it is perfect. The Raw Files render beautifully. Everything you say in your video is on point. The D700 is old and yet, I am using my more than my lovely XPro-2.
I just bought a D700 this year after years of wanting one. I have other cameras that I love, but I use this one everyday just because. I do agree with everything you've said. Thank you.
Thank you and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I took it out in the rain today. Had no problems with it getting a bit of water in it. Great camera.
I have 2 - D700s, and bought a D850 for birds, etc. The D850 sat around for 3-4 years, almost new in the box (fewer than 100 exposures), while I just always grabbed my D700 for every day shooting. I sold the D850.
Haven't shot mine in 30 minutes! Not the resolution of my d850, but plenty for the internet and small prints. Doesn't have the dynamic range of the d850 either and since I purchased one of the first ones available in 2008, I have definitely got my moneys worth out of it and the vertical grip. So for me, if it is raining, foggy, dusty blowing sand, d850 stays home. The colors that come out of it and a voigtlander 58 mm 1.4 are gorgeous. My d200, and these 2 digital cameras look so much like my f100, f5 and f6, THREE GD times I have grabbed the wrong camera for a shoot. The prototype of them all is the f5 designed by the italian designer who designed the DeLorean, Maseratis and Lambos. Brilliant design.
I really appreciate the info here. Thank you. I use my D700 as often as any other camera I own. I prefer it for portraits as the skin tones are beautiful. This camera definitely renders colour well. THanks for the feedback.
I bought my D300s back in 2010. Travelled so many places all over the world with it. Back then I couldn't buy the bigger brother D700. I've wanted to go FX given all my fx lenses I have but newer cameras are way out of my league now. Maybe I'll just go for D700 which I couldn't buy so long ago.
I bought two relatively cheap lenses. 50mm 1.8 and a second hand Sigma 70-200 2.8. I have no hesitation in recommending the D700. I love mine. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I've swapped my d90 for the d700 recently, paid an extra 100$ (approx) for one with 19k actuations. It is absolutely brilliant, paired with the 28-200 af d you can see in the last image of the video, the results are breathtaking. The only downside I noticed so far is the weight, but it's a matter of getting used to it I guess. I would have liked a few more megapixels for landscapes, but the shots I got so far look amazing so I really can't complain. For portraits and all-purpose day-to-day shooting, top notch.
@@alexb2773 it’s definitely a heavy brute, especially with the big zoom lens. To me though, it feels balanced and steady. I’ve done a few pano’s with it to get more pixels. It works beautifully.
Nice ode to the D700. I salivated over it when it was new but couldn’t afford it back then. Of course a decade later I could. It’s still a beast of a camera and you can still sell prints off of it. I’ve never had a customer say “I hate that photo because it was shot on a D700.” which is now “obsolete” technology. The photos look amazing. Sure it doesn’t have that amazing dynamic range a Fuji GFX has but for anything portraiture this thing is an absolute beast. I mostly pair mine with the Tamron 45 1.8 and never looked back. I love mine!
I use mine mostly for portraiture also. It is beautiful. I mostly use the Nikkor 50mm 1.8. Beautiful skin tones and smooth realistic colour. Thank you for sharing your story.
Got a D700 three years ago; used newer cameras but nothing is comparable to the 700s image quality, sharpness and build-quality. Never regretted it and I am still thankful that Nikon made this camera back then. Thinking of buying another one, maybe the best camera on will ever use.
Nice video Chewie. For me it’s all about the glass that you put on the front. At the end of the day they are all just tools, I’ve said it many times but sometimes we get to hung up on the specs, this goes for cameras as much as motorcycles, the pics you have taken are stunning and a testament to that.
Just recieved a brand new in box D700... Cant wait to purchase a few new lenses to start taken pictures this summer.. Can you suggest a few lenses that would complement this camera.. Thank you
The 50mm 1.8 is fantastic for it. Cheap and very versatile. If you can afford a 24-70 2.8 with VR, that would be awesome. I have the 70-200 2.8 Sigma. It is excellent also. Absolutely fantastic to get a new D700. Enjoy it.
I just got my sensor cleaned. Having two D750s for jobs and cases where I want the higher resolution, I use the D700 as my walkabout camera. If I'm going on an errand or out to take a little exercise hike on a nature trail, it's the camera I toss in the back of my truck. Paired with my Tamron 28-300 f/3.5-6.3, I've managed to get a lot of very nice images. (I posted one in the comments section of your related Facebook post.)
@@hachewie I might one day., but I'm happy for now. I'm the kind of person who would want to buy the new Z glass and not rely on the adapter, and I know that could be pretty expensive. Plus I actually like the heft of the older cameras. Where I do switch to the D750 is for my waterfall photography - I like having the higher res here, plus I usually like to shoot a half minute or so of video at each falls I shoot.
I'm definitely not in a hurry for the same reasons. I will likely go for a newer Full Frame Nikon DSLR as I already have a couple of decent lenses. I'd love an 85mm 1.8 or maybe the 28-70 2.8.

The CF card isn't a negative, as can buy a SD to CF adaptor for about $10, juts make sure you get a thin version, I use CF adaptors in my D700, D200 , D70 and Fuji F5, all work great.
Great review mate. Just because something is old, does not mean it is no longer useful. My first SLR camera was an EOS 630. I bought it second hand for $200 back in 2000. It was pretty old then, but took great photos. I used it up until 2004 on my trip to Everest Basecamp. I sold it in 2007 for $100.

I found this very interesting my friend. Your pictures are amazingly good. I would like to learn more about photography. I’ve spent a lifetime learning and growing in my career and any additional time I had was spent raising my kids and supporting my wonderful wife. Time to learn new things!
Great video. I have newer Nikon models but my D700 is the cameraI I go to frequently. I also own a D3s. People forget it is all about light and composition. I don't need all the bells and whistles and high MP of the modern cameras. The amount of gear out there and constant addition of new models is getting bewildering with camera manufacturers trying to outdo each other.
my only question is where can i still get reliable CF cards and how can i get them from my camera and into my macbookpro ? specifics please :-) TIA////rick in Japan
You can get a CF to micro SD adapter that will work. If you go for a CF card there is a maximum size that works. You can also get a CF reader to USB for your computer. I plug my camera into my MacBook using a USB cable.
Its a semi-proffessional brick with everything you need (except video) for under $300. Had mine for years with new lenses. Work great, charge batteries once every full moon, and takes all Nikon lenses (vintage too). 5/5 would buy again
My first camera was a d750 but a year later i sold it only to buy guess what?the d700. Never really felt any emotional connection with the d750. With the d700,the photos look so pleasant and dreamy ,not too digitized. And the overall feeling and connection that I cannot explain. I now use a7riii mainly for landscape but I would keep my d700 for as long as my heart never stops talking pictures .
This camera was so popular that I only manage to buy one about a year after its launch. At least I now know that I am not the only one who still keep this camera It is so loud compare to say, the D750 that I also still kept, and I love both cameras.
I bought my second is case something happens to the other one!! I have most of the classic Nikon DSLR's. Both of the D700's I found in Japan on Ebay with less than 1000 clicks!!!!
Right on. I’m planning on putting some photography in my videos this summer starting soon. I have the Sony a37. I think it shoots greats pictures. Cheers man!
Nice camera Chewie! You sure take some incredible shots with this camera from what I've seen. Love the production quality in this video mate, well done. Very professional.
Dear Hachewie thanks for this story and all these comments! I am an owner of several analogue Nikon- Nikkormats with non- af lenses. Can i use these on the D700? Can i good enough focus myself? Thanks for reply!
I came to the same conclusion as you did. I got one with 19 000 actuation and a 24-85 mm lens for $295, shipping included, so I couldn't pass it, and I have lot of old nikkor that I've been adapting on my GH5. I agree with you the quality of what the D700 throws out is equal to most sub $3000 modern mirrorless cams out there. There is a crowd, they even have a FB page from which I was expulsed, who believe that the D700 is actually better than anything that was made after. Isn't it amazing? this decent cam is good but it seems to be at the origin of some kind of very misplaced nostalgia. I would NOT have bought it for $500 but since I had already all the lenses for my video with my GH5 at $300 I couldn't pass it. I would NOT recommend it to anybody starting or wanting to get super serious. I still think it's better to find a used Sony A7RII or A7RIII or even a lumix S5, first edition, or even a A7III used to start a photography hobby.
It is interesting that some hold on to the nostalgia as the “best”. It’s definitely great but technology had move so far since digital started. I love mine but I also have a more kidney camera for other used. Thanks for the comment.
I run an Olympus Compact DSLR camera that I pick up overseas but most of the cams on the market now days are awesome .... Solid review on the Nikon and like you say it is still a top cam in todays photo world........ keep safe 🙂
I have the Fuji for video and it is awesome for still too. It doesn't have the same smoothness and feel about it though. The Nikon is a beast with a tender heart. Thanks mate. The Olympus are awesome cameras.

Thank you for your observations. Is it possible to make 24x36 inch images with outstanding detail (as if its 300ppi) seen from very close distance? I explore the possibility to stich 3 portrait images as a single image/panorama. My main concerns are that the short side will not reach 24 inch with sufficient detail (looking like 300ppi). I do not care about actual 300ppi density but rather if the exceptional detail is there, so no need for higher mp cameras if i shoot with a sharp 50mm prime.
No HDR? ...D700 adds an AUTO option to the Auto Dynamic Range mode, which will probably give the D700 slightly better image quality in difficult light with less twiddling... What is Ken Rockwell talking about then?
You and some other photographers mention that this camera reproduces colors extremely well. Is that when shooting in raw or JPEG format? I understand that when shooting in JPEG The camera will essentially "develop" the photo whereas in RAW you are just getting the unmastered data. Sorry for the ignorant question. I don't know a lot about photography yet.
I love your question. I have found that editing in Lightroom, you can do quite a lot with editing colour of both JPEG or RAW. I haven’t experience editing with any other software. The biggest difference (for me) shooting in RAW is you can bring up the shadows more before introducing too much noise. Also, I rarely shoot in JPEG so this question may be better answered by other people. You are correct though that when shooting in JPEG the chosen picture control settings will be added to the JPEG so you will get great looking images straight out of the camera. The RAW images are a little more flat looking without editing.
@@hachewie thank you. I think if I get this camera I will practice shooting JPEG first while I get better at composition then I will switch to raw. Found a clean model on marketplace for only 250 USD. Do you think I should go for it?
All hale the D700 and it's little brother the D300. These 2 cameras are legends for good reasons. The image output from the D700 and D300 is stunning. Old, yes, but built like a brick shit house. A heavy camera set up is a steady camera setup. It took me 9 months to find a really good D700 but it was worth the wait. I say to hell with modern features like flippy screen and video. If you want to shoot video get a damn dedicated camcorder. CF cards, no problem, I use a CF / SD card adaptor. Works great. They don't make cameras like this any more.
I’ve been comparing portrait shots between the D700 and the Fujifilm X-T4 (26mp). There really isn’t much difference in sharpness when I’m pixel peeping. Love the D700.
Yeah mate she’ll be sweet as, just because it’s old just means you have a few more steps in the production run as apposed to new cameras. Mate I’ve still got a Pentax film SLR that I still use…
That’s awesome. I have tried film. I think I need to do more. It helps with the creative process and slowing down. Still pretty expensive to develop and print.
@@hachewie yeah mate the cost is the down side film, here in NZ it works out to about $40 for 24 photos! It definitely slows you down and you have to make every shot count 😎
i think it's really objective, if you understand what your camera is capable of, and also you know how to understand its settings and use them to the best of the cameras ability. there is nothing it cannot achieve. but the most important thing i feel is. how does it make you feel? knowing that you have used that to shoot whatever, you are the art behind the glass. Great video mate.
Got one of these just yesterday with 60k actuations so still a bit of life there. 28-300mm mounted on it. Hope it will produce great photos! I found the noise in the D800 unbearable in low light... ;)

That’s fantastic. 10 years. I recently had some of my shots used by a company on their social media and monthly newsletter. This is still a very capable camera. Thanks for watching.
Photography isn't about the camera; it's about your vision and skills. The camera is your artistic tool, and if your creativity falls flat, even the fanciest camera won't elevate your work. It's not a magic wand; it's an extension of your vision. Taking a great photo involves more than just clicking a button. It's a multi-step dance: capture, process, and display. If you fumble any of these steps, your photo won't shine. You must master all three to craft stunning images. So, is the Nikon D700 your golden ticket? Any camera can be your muse if you know how to use it. Your creative eye is the compass, guiding you to what makes a picture extraordinary. Keep in mind that camera companies are in the business of selling new gear. They'll market the latest and greatest, but remember, your camera is just a tool, not a guarantee of brilliant shots. And those TH-cam photography gurus? They aim to stay relevant and capture your attention. Be cautious of their advice; sometimes, it's more about trends than timeless art. In photography, it's you who decides what's great. Embrace your creativity, learn the craft, and let your vision shine through. Cameras are just the paintbrushes in the hands of the true artist - you.

Nice one, Chewie. I'm still using my Canon EOS 400D, yes .... D is for Dinosaur, which I bought in 2006. In the end, I believe it's the nut behind the butt that can get the best out of, which ever, camera. Cheers
My Canon 400D still kicks butt. I think back then Digital was still trying to prove itself. Now I just find there are a lot of gimmicks. Those CF cards are bloody expensive. I should have bought a few more when they were relevant.
Canon colour science is awesome. Yeah there's heaps of gimmicks but also a good camera had features that are useful like an intervalometer, In Body Stabilisation... You can buy an adapter for the CF card and use a Micro SD card in it.
I started with a Canon 350D when it came out and loved it. After also enjoying Olympus and also film cameras, I was forced to move to Nikon on a budget. So I did some research and CCD sensor which supposedly replicated the more natural film look… and it does! I thus bought a Nikon D50 with a CCD sensor and whopping 6MP! Hilarious! But the thing puts out incredible images! I got a D70s as a more advanced CCD camera, and figured I also needed a full frame. The D700 was recommended everywhere for having beautiful colour rendition and was not disappointed. But I suggest to you to try one of the CCD sensor Nikons ;)
Con la fantástica D300, ya en archivos jpg bien expuestos, las fotos también tienen algo del cine techni color, pero sobre todo se parecen a las diapo tomadas con los Fuji Velvia 100 o a veces hasta los 50.
i hate to hear when people ask "is the camera still relevant in todays modern photography". Well, most people now do video+ photo as a way to present their products to clients. TRUE. But doesn't necessarily mean the old dslrs are not capable. Their capability will always remain superb except the lack of the modern features. Old dslrs will always be able to deliver stunning and exceptional images with the combination of very good fast glass. People nowadays are buying and selling to catch up the latest and greatest thinking it will make our photography eveb better. LOL. Even 2 decades and beyond, these old dslrs will always be capable at least for what we call "professional photography"
Hey guys and gals, what's up? Is 16.000 a lot for the shutter count of this camera? I found one for about $380 around my area and I am considering getting it, but I wouldn't like it to brake down in a couple of months ( the shop does offer a 1month warranty :-) ). I don't know how it was used but they say it's looking ok from a technical and aesthetic pov (I will check on that before buying). It's mostly for fun, I'm not a professional photographer.
@@dance2jam Yes the autofocus of new cameras is incredible and a definite draw card for the modern cameras. Thanks again.
It's still as good as it was back in 2008. I bought one last year, the files are so easy to work with and require little/no post processing.
I agree. I also love the small file sizes. So much easier on my computer. Thank you for watching and commenting.

I’ve often considered Sony mirrorless but I have Nikon lenses.
THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO! I'm in the market for my classic D750 and this one intrigues me! I appreciate your tutorial!
I hope you enjoy your D750. I often think about getting one. I still love the D700 though.
I’m no blogger, no TH-camr, just a photographer. Modern mirrorless cameras are a gem for videographers. Not to me. Great to have a photo camera that cannot create videos. My most modern camera dates from 2013. Tomorrow my d700 should arrive. Can’t wait!
You will live it. Share a link of some pics please.
@@lescobrandon3047 where can I see some of your work? I’m interested interested.
A legend of a camera !!! I have one, I bought it second hand with around 4000 actuations - virtually new!
That should last a lifetime. Awesome. Enjoy.
Great information especially for a new camera enthusiast.

Thanks Rochelle. I'm really happy the camera made me not so red. lol.
I recently acquired a D700 - it has become my favourite everyday Camera. I use mine with The Nikkor 28-70mm and it is perfect. The Raw Files render beautifully. Everything you say in your video is on point. The D700 is old and yet, I am using my more than my lovely XPro-2.
Thank you for watching and commenting. It really makes beautiful images and that’s the most important part. Where can I see your pictures.
D700 is my benchmark when I compare others cameras. Ok my D850 is propably the best dslr ever but the D700 is still on duty.
I love my D700. I use it a lot.
I've just bought one at the beginning of 2023, i'm looking forward to the rest of the year with this camera.
Enjoy. I did a lot of photography over the past week with it. Love it.
It gave me carpul tunnel. Its ok. I loveee this legend. I have two. One very used. And one in the box with 10 clicks on it . Nostalgic
Hahahahaha. It is a heavy beast. 10 clicks.... awesome.
Got a D700 three years ago; used newer cameras but nothing is comparable to the 700s image quality, sharpness and build-quality. Never regretted it and I am still thankful that Nikon made this camera back then. Thinking of buying another one, maybe the best camera on will ever use.
High praise indeed. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I’m sure I will buy another if this one stops working.
It's worth every single day. The good old trusty workhorse.
Still my favourite camera.
Nice video Chewie. For me it’s all about the glass that you put on the front. At the end of the day they are all just tools, I’ve said it many times but sometimes we get to hung up on the specs, this goes for cameras as much as motorcycles, the pics you have taken are stunning and a testament to that.
From another professional I will take that as high praise indeed. I really love this camera and will use it for many years to come. Thanks Ross.

Nice. I love my D700. It is also my favourite. Thanks for watching.
Awesome. I’ll have a look. The 750 is a work horse. I’ll upgrade one day to another newer full frame. Im tempted to go mirrorless.

Thanks for the comment. Love the channel name. I’ll check it out.

Fantastic. It really is a great camera. Thank you for sharing you story. I really appreciate you watching the video.
I hope you've found some responses.
No HDR? ...D700 adds an AUTO option to the Auto Dynamic Range mode, which will probably give the D700 slightly better image quality in difficult light with less twiddling... What is Ken Rockwell talking about then?
Good point. I was thinking about the multiple exposure style of HDR. Thanks for watching.

Well said. The art behind the glass. Love it. It makes me feel great. I love this camera.
I got one 2 year ago I would prefere 28 Mpix so it mach my old D300 resolution
I thought the D300 was 12.3 mp?
@@hachewieDo the math
@@thomaseriksson6256 Ummm. Why don't you show me the math? www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-products/product-archive/dslr-cameras/d300.html
Got one of these just yesterday with 60k actuations so still a bit of life there. 28-300mm mounted on it. Hope it will produce great photos! I found the noise in the D800 unbearable in low light... ;)
It is excellent in low light. 50mm 1.8 is superb.
@@hachewie I don't have the nifty fifty on hand but I have some vintage nikkor lying around that I will have to try :) I have the 58mm voigtlander which could fit nicely on this camera. Lots of combinations to try haha :) I took a few shots with it today. Colours look quite pleasant :)
@@jd5787 awesome. Yes the old glass should look fantastic with this sensor. Awesome. Let me know how your low light shots go.
@@hachewie hi! Quick question, which color profile do you usually shoot with? Neutral/standars/vivid? Thanks!
@@jd5787 I always shoot in RAW, but I use the Standard Profile most of the time. I do use monochrome sometimes.
I shot on it for 10 years, I got it for free used. Built like a tank. You can get decent 11x14 prints out of it.
That’s fantastic. 10 years. I recently had some of my shots used by a company on their social media and monthly newsletter. This is still a very capable camera. Thanks for watching.
You should invest in a prompter or learn your text because it’s very annoying to see your eyes constantly looking away from the lens
Thanks for the feedback. I agree.

Very well said. I couldn’t agree more. Thank you for your insightful comment. It is greatly appreciated.
This is the only camera I loved from heart, I had D750,Z6, CANON RP, but this is a Legend and made to take great Images. There is nothing like this made and image quality and I do print 20*30 easy.
Fantastic. I’m happy to hear that. Is there somewhere we can see your images?
Thank you for your observations. Is it possible to make 24x36 inch images with outstanding detail (as if its 300ppi) from very close distance? I explore the possibility to stich 3 portrait images as a single image/panorama. My main concerns are that the short side will not reach 24 inch with sifficient detail (looking like 300ppi). I do not care about actual 300ppi density but rather if the exceptional detail is there, so no need for higher mp cameras if i shoot with a sharp 50mm prime.
@@Classicdslr yes for sure, even cropped image look sharper on 20×30 so it would handle easily and some of that depend on retouch how you process image.
@@PunjabiGymBeats Thank you for this encouraging news🙂
I agree.
How to set video mode in d700
Sorry. The D700 does not have video at all.
I have a Canon 40D... probably from about the same time?
Nice.
3:20 microfournerds?
Hahahaha. If it sounded that way, I apologize
No bro, the model looks like microfournerds. I thought u are affiliated with her.

I still love the images I get with my D700, I have a D810 and D610 but the colors I get from the D700 is better!
Thanks Herbert. I love your photos with the 700.
I suppose the d700 is as good in 2024 as the day it came out. I love my d700. I’m a photographer, I love cameras without possibility to shoot videos. And also: poor PC having to handle 100 mp in post production.
So many reasons to keep using it. Still my favourite camera.
Nice one, Chewie. I'm still using my Canon EOS 400D, yes .... D is for Dinosaur, which I bought in 2006. In the end, I believe it's the nut behind the butt that can get the best out of, which ever, camera. Cheers
Definitely a dinosaur but you are correct. A great image is about composition and story, not pixels and dynamic range.
Definitely great a year ago and still a top photography camera.
I grab it first for many situations, especially portraits. Love it.
@@dedclownsRfunny I’ll keep my eye out for one. Thanks for the tip and for watching the video.
Con la fantástica D300, ya en archivos jpg bien expuestos, las fotos también tienen algo del cine techni color, pero sobre todo se parecen a las diapo tomadas con los Fuji Velvia 100 o a veces hasta los 50.
There is definitely a cinematic look to the lower MP older cameras. Thanks for sharing.
Love my D700, I think of it as a digital F4/F100 mash-up.
It definitely has some analog feel to it. Thanks for watching.
i hate to hear when people ask "is the camera still relevant in todays modern photography".
Well said. I agree wholeheartedly. I have a little Fujifilm mirrorless camera for video and Timelapse photography. My D700 is my favourite though. 💜
I've been playing with the D3000, D5100 and Olympus cameras for the last 10 years or so. I tried my friend's D700 a few years ago and I loved it. Not sure what to do, what would you do? :)
Cheers! Teo

D600 if you need video. D700 if you have limited storage space and want the legend. Both great cameras. I'd suggest watching some reviews and then deciding.
I have this camera and it is a masterstroke in design I also have the D850
Awesome. I’m a bit jealous about the 850. Maybe one day I’ll have something like that.
@@hachewie I have done a couple of weddings for friends and family ill usually take some sample photose to show them on a calibrated monitor and without fail folks assume the 700 is the technically superior camera despite it being obvious by the amount of detail captured from skin and they end up requesting the 700. I typically won't inform them till the work is done
@@carlosenriquez2092 That’s amazing. It just makes beautiful images.
With the right glass and a thorough knowledge of editing software, the D700 is good enough for many applications.
There are still plenty of pros who have a D700 in their case as a backup!
Great job mate, some beautiful tones in those images. ✌️
From a pro, I will take that as high praise. Thank you.
It's not the camera that makes photography relevant, it's the photographer. More megapixels do not equal a better image nor a better photographer.
