His father was abusive, selfish and controlling. He fought it and his family helped him fight, but when he finally won, his father broken and beaten, he ruled and felt the power of feeling right, true and in control.

The Cycle repeated... The King was abusive, selfish, and controlling who possibly had parents as abusive as he is in the present time. Then he got a son at which the Son depose to end his Father's Career early. Being Mistreated, they finally took charge with the citizens of the Kingdom to put the King Down... But when that finally happen and the Prince took the throne, the Greed, Pride, and Power consumed him and turned him into a splitting image... Just like his Father
*The People that fought to take down the Original King are now just a useless memory in history*
      How sad.

The shiver of the icy winds, the stark whiteness of the snow-covered lands, and the heartrending song of a lonely wolf - that's the backdrop against which I, Kiba Snowpaw, approached Rosendale's "The King." Much like the fur that shields me from my icy world, music has been a sanctuary, wrapping me in melodies when the chill of life's experiences felt too raw.
"The King" isn’t just a song. It's a tale, one that throbs with the ancient cadence of myths passed down through generations. Each lyric, each stanza tells a story of ambition, legacy, betrayal, and the cyclical nature of power.
"There was a king / Living carefree / He wanted the world he wanted everything..."
These lines succinctly encapsulate a story familiar to us all: the intoxication of power and the blinding ambition that comes with it. The song’s narrative provides a vivid portrayal of a ruler consumed by greed and an heir driven by vengeance.
The eerie similarities between the actions of the father and the son suggest an underlying theme: power's corrupting nature. This resonates deeply with me. In my 36 winters, I've navigated the treacherous terrains of toxic relationships, the isolation of depression, and the biting frost of loneliness.
Through lines like "...the son grew like weeds / He soon was eighteen / He ventured outside of the castle to see...", there's a palpable sense of youthful curiosity and a budding realization of the legacy one inherits. The tragedy of the queen, the weight of expectation, and the son’s ultimate rise to power all evoke feelings of profound sadness, inevitability, and contemplation.
Drawing a parallel with many classic tales of kings and their heirs, "The King" stands apart with its hauntingly beautiful melody and Rosendale's evocative vocals. But it's the ambiguous ending, the unsaid fate of the people, that adds depth. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the stories we tell overshadow the countless untold ones.
While the song is undeniably captivating, there's a hunger for more. What happened to the kingdom after? Did history repeat itself once again? Yet, perhaps it's this open-endedness that allows listeners like myself to weave our own tales, to find reflections of our own stories in the song.
"The King" by Rosendale is a masterpiece, a symphony of emotions that touches the depths of one’s soul. From the perspective of this Ice Wolf, the song resonates deeply, reminding me of life's cyclical nature and the shadows of our past. It serves as a testament to the timeless allure of stories and the powerful grip of music.
In the vastness of the icy world, may songs like this keep our spirits warm and stories alive.

    Living carefree
He wanted the world he wanted everything
    He ruled with a fist
    His people were starved
He watched as they begged behind his castle guards
    Diamonds and pearls
    Emeralds and gold
He bathed in the riches only he could know
    But with time came age
    His health in decline
The fate of his legacy left to the tides
So he ran to his queen and demanded a child
Planted his seed then he cast her aside
Several moons later she bore him a son
But died just to give him his own flesh and blood
    Ooh
    Ooh
    The son grew like weeds
    He soon was eighteen
He ventured outside of the castle to see
    The faces so gaunt
    The dead in the streets
They cried out for help but nobody could hear
Deep down inside him something had stirred
He laughed at the ruins his father incurred
Fire in his veins he stormed back to the throne
Stared down the king with a rage still unknown
    Ooh
    The father decreed
    The new rule of law
His son to be banished outside of the walls
But the son had a plan
    And his heart was convinced
There'd never be room for both king and a prince
He rallied the people and charged through the gates
Shield in one hand but the other a blade
With one fell swoop his own father deposed
He sat on the throne and adorned his new crown
    Ooh
    The son was elated
    The kingdom was his
Diamonds and emeralds and gold-plated bliss
    But what of the people
    The legends don't say
    Just like a memory
    They faded away
    There was a king
    Living carefree
He wanted the world he wanted everything

I, too, am a suffering soul in this world, but I do not think like you. Unlike you, I do not think that existing is the greatest punishment. There are so many great things to see and do in this world. Even if right now I am shackled and have no way out of this suffering, I will continue on and bear responsibility for my existence. I want to live so that I can bear witness to the beauty of nature and all things it has to offer. So I am thankful for existing.
I hope that you can change your view of the world and live a happy life. I know that words of a stranger may mean nothing to you, but I truly wish you can find your own happiness.
We might be insignificant in the grand scheme of things, compared to the vastness of the universe our life might have no meaning, but one can always create their own purpose and meaning in life. If our life has no meaning, then being insignificant has no meaning, it doesn't matter if we are just speck of dust, it doesn't matter what we do, it doesn't matter who you are, so just do it. Do whatever you want, because in the end, it doesn't matter. Just enjoy yourself. We will all inevitably escape this place anyways, so how about enjoying the sights and experiences it has to offer?

If you really listen to the lyrics, they lead up to the son becoming his father. "Give him his own flesh and blood, there'd never be room for both king and a prince, a shild in one hand but the other a blade, the prince was elated. The kingdom was his..." it can be compared to the saying "the apple never falls far from the tree" but it can also be seen as power coropts, though the second one is rather weak with the small hints in the text leading up to the ending. Especially that little "but" insted of of an "and" with the shield and blade. It can imply that the first purpose was to protect (the shield) the people, while the blade is supposed to hold a similar meaning (to take up arms to fight against the injust) that little "but" makes it a tool for killing only for personal gain. Amazing what just one word can do to the meaning of a frase.
OMG serval of my teachers would be proud of me to just casually start analysing a text without really thinking about it😂

    There was a king
    Living carefree
He wanted the world he wanted everything
    He ruled with a fist
    His people were starved
He watched as they begged behind his castle guards
    Diamonds and pearls
    Emeralds and gold
He bathed in the riches only he could know
    But with time came age
    His health in decline
The fate of his legacy left to the tides
So he ran to his queen and demanded a child
Planted his seed then he cast her aside
Several moons later she bore him a son
But died just to give him his own flesh and blood
    Ooh
    Ooh
    The son grew like weeds
    He soon was eighteen
He ventured outside of the castle to see
    The faces so gaunt
    The dead in the streets
They cried out for help but nobody could hear
Deep down inside him something had stirred
He laughed at the ruins his father incurred
Fire in his veins he stormed back to the throne
Stared down the king with a rage still unknown
    Ooh
    The father decreed
    The new rule of law
His son to be banished outside of the walls
But the son had a plan
    And his heart was convinced
There'd never be room for both king and a prince
He rallied the people and charged through the gates
Shield in one hand but the other a blade
With one fell swoop his own father deposed
He sat on the throne and adorned his new crown
    Ooh
    The son was elated
    The kingdom was his
Diamonds and emeralds and gold-plated bliss
    But what of the people
    The legends don't say
    Just like a memory
    They faded away
    There was a king
    Living carefree
He wanted the world he wanted everything

basically a long time ago, the king was an arrogant tyrant & years passed he became old & health unwell, he ran to his queen & demands a child before 9 months the king neglects his wife during her prego, after the mom gave birth to her son she died, the father was grieving his wife's death.
as the years flew by, the king's tyranny increased more, the prince was curious about the outside of the royal residence he sneaks outside & saw the country's people suffering.
    too long, sorry

It's a lesson to each generation. Every generation believes that they are more wise or stronger then the post or prior. But in the end, time is fleeting and the lessons that has failed to be passed down or discovered gets ignored. We elect our rulers or allow rulers to reign over and don't question or fight for what is true justice. Instead, we allow others to distract or present vacuous matters. We give our lives for a war that is not ours and we pay to live on a planet that we were created on. Each generation believes that they may change the future by rallying others or electing a new face until that generation become the next catalyst of destruction and greed. Each generation offers something, but for that, they destroy something. Many follow because they want to belong to anything or are influenced easily. Many experiments prove this theory, and enough people don't realize how easily a group can be targeted and called to action.
I hope this invigorates people to study on history and look for the patterns that way we may be more wise in our decisions and/or notice our injudicious. We are approaching war for a piece of metal that creates computers and phones when we have the capability to recycle or research alternatives, but we rather claim or remain in ignorance and are too indolent to do anything other squander our home. That is what this song reminds me of.
Please properly tag the creator. Rosendale is the original creator the songs. He has many great songs. Like the Rose, Seven Days, Six Pills, and et cetera.
