Bathroom Urine Smell Problem

I'm a fairly new custodian, just started a little over two months ago, i have basic knowledge in cleaning from life and previous jobs but wasnt trained entirely on what every chemical does but these videos are really helping me get an idea on how to deep clean the restrooms for this break while the kids are out. I also find it funny that usually the boy restrooms just smell like urine with minor paper on the floor, where as the girls are the messiest when it comes to paper towels, toilet paper and toilet seat covers. 3 days in a row they kept taking all the toilet seat covers that where brand new and throwing them into the toilet which sucked. Major thing for the boys is some just straight up urinate in the corners or on the floor drain, this is a elementary school tho, cant be that mad.

I worked in elementary for 19 years. 11 of those in a kindergarten school. I fault urine every day. Keep those mops washed and get and enzyme product. amzn.to/3QUiwJQ

I have the same problem, but i think the pee is in the tile on the walls in one of my rooms.

Yes. Boys are bad for peeing everywhere but in the toilet or Urinal.
I also use a clean flat mop once a week on the walls around the fixtures as well. Thanks for the video

I have 16 bathrooms, I have to clean some with multiple fixtures, which is a lot, to do on top of my other tasks but I get it done. Unfortunately, I don't always have the time to scrub everything, so if it still looks clean and there's no smell, it gets skipped, it sounds bad but that's the reality of it. Sometimes you have to cut corners, although I try not to if possible.

The first school I worked at for 9 years had automatic flushing urinals in the bathrooms, and one summer when the power was shut off for construction I got a great whiff of what happens when they did not flush. The school I work at now has an older circa 1967 bathroom with manual flushing urinals which the kids never flush. I flush them once a day holding the handle down giving them a good flow which helps.

Was the automatic flusher actually on the wall? Usually if they’re attached to the pipe they run on batteries

I noticed in these videos it doesn’t look like you’re spraying to chrome itself. Do you just use the excess that you wipe off the outside of the toilet to wipe the handles and chrome?

I do spray chrome when I do my daily cleaning.

I don’t understand urinal screens if someone pees and leave it then that urinal screen just sits in pee. And it’s easier to clean the urinal without it even being in there. Waste of money if you ask me.
