Jeff, when you see the purple on the map show up, that means you killed it, not just that you hit it. Blood splatter is usually in the center of the purple. The area will be purple because that's the area where the deer or whatever was hit last (or first if it's a one hit kill). Hope that helps a bit for later streams.

I'm wondering if the reason your not getting an Integrity Bonus with the 270 Stradivarius rifle is likely because your too close, try getting further away like a 100 yards or so away and try it again and see if you get an Integrity Bonus then.
At the beginning of the stream you were hunting blacktail, which the 223,243, and 30-30 will give you integrity bonus. I found an integrity chart on a forum because I was having the same issue. The 270 will give you integrity on anything except the coyote and blacktail while on Layton Lake

In the settings if you go to active and inactive tracking you can change the colors for the animal you're tracking and the animal you're not tracking as different colors so you don't get confused
weirdest thing is happening, not getting audio on any of Jeff's live Channel. I can right-click on any video, open new tab, that's suggested even Jeff's main channel, Buggs, Cleetus, Slaptrain and I got audio, but not on yesterdays ATS and this one

Didn't know till harvest that it was 243. And I was like omg that's awesome no way. I even double checked to see if the game got it wrong ... Nope it was me equipped wrong gun

What! As a Montana Mulie, Elk and WhiteTail hunter you made me spit my coffee. You are to aim for the boiler-room shot, through the heart-lung area with the deer standing broadside. Even if you're a couple of inches off, you still hit vital organs. A true conservationist hunter wants the most meat with the highest percentage kill hit. Sure heart and Lungs usually means tracking and with a .243 round it can be arduous, but the meat loss on my last Elk was less than the size of a hand with 30yrds worth of tracking. It took longer to walk to the truck than it did to track the animal, 3 loads. I have over 250lbs of meat off the beast, losing 2 lbs isn't going to make me lose a pants size. I use an '06 so the thump is greater than a .243 but the practice is the same. I have seen too many maimed animals because people go for head shots and miss the brain.

Does this mean you've killed an animal, only to discover that it had already been maimed? or, have seen them in the wild and it was clear they'd been maimed? or something else entirely?
Trevor Stewart with myself only being 2 years late to this comment I’ve seen both happen. I killed one that had the ears knocked off and have seen a few in the wild that had chunks of their neck, like above the spine, that were taken out. I personally have had both good and bad experiences with neck shots, had plenty drop and have had a few run. Probably the worst I experienced was a neck shot I made from about 100 yards and I walk out because the deer dropped and I had faith only to walk back in with a buddy to see the deer trying to get up and walk off. Upon cleaning the deer we found that the bullet hit weird and didn’t expand like it was supposed to. I don’t aim for the neck anymore.
