I don’t plan on trying that 30 day hair detox but I will say that the good thing about it being a trend is that naturals are discovering products, using products as directed , not overusing products and really learning their hair. It reminds me of the old natural hair community when we used to see honest reviews and the successes and failures were filmed.

Hi Narada I've noticed that Nolly Cinema has got your recent livestream blocked. Please can you update us on your community page what's happing as your livestreams on natural hair is my Thursday go to.
It's nothing that can be done about it now. I can remove the content but it's going to remove the live chat from the stream unfortunately. I'll probably end up doing that but I want to read the live chat before I have it removed
I used raw lightweight oils(almond and rosehip seed oil) on my wash and go for the first time in a year and it lasted me just as long as my wash and goes without oils; plus my hair looked more shiny(of course). Basically, it's b.s; just dont be heavy handed and wash your hair regularly with shampoo. Oh and avoid raw coconut oil as it's not a sealant
Narada gotta sponsor....YAAAAS 👍🏽 Congratulations, Bruh 👏🏾😊 The live stream....hair bein' fried, creepy dude wit his natural hair fetish, salons that don't do hair but want to get paid...🤣🤣🤣🤣 Good times, good times...luv the live streams!
Not arguing with voices on tho 😂😂😂 I can relate to the story of the little girl needing to cut her hair off from severe damage. It is an emotional situation, but at the end of the day once it had to be done, she learned to embrace herself and her new hair. It took me awhile, but I am finally embracing mine.
4:34:21 i mean she looks like a 1b/2a so she does have some wave, not "curls" though. I get your point though, her hair air dried is mostly straight... If she was naturally wavy, it would have been frizzy. I've seen those "i didnt know my hair was wavy vids" and they all have frizzy hair if they don't flat iron, blow out *correctly*, or use product. Watch india bastion or kristina Malik for real wavy hair.
Enjoyed watching this playback! Regarding the "How I Discovered I Had Natural Curl" reaction video: - I do agree that the original video the Annie girl made is misleading/inaccurate lol. She even stated in the video and showed a photo of her natural hair texture being straight after it has been air-dried. Also, she even had to manipulate her hair (scrunch it and put it in a sloppy bun for four days) to get the "curls" (more like waves in my opinion, but..). So yes, inaccurate. I understand that. - But I disagree with/feel the tone of some of De'jha's comments were double standard-ish lol. For example, "people work so hard to get something others actually have". If a non-Black woman (or a naturally straight-haired woman/man) had this same tone or reaction to a video of us Black women (or naturally curly/coily-haired people) witnessing our process to get a straight look (going to a salon on a weekly basis to get silk presses, flat ironing our hair every day, relaxers, spending money on straight wigs, etc.), OR, made comments referring to our hair looking like an animal (i.e. when she referred to her hair looking like a wet dog), we'd be all in the comment section bashing the person and defending our right to style our hair how we want. In this case, straight. *There are definitely run-on sentences in this, sorry lol* My point: I just like to look at things objectively, and in this case, I feel if the reaction video was the other way around we'd be offended. So I can see how maybe some of the "Karens", non-Black women, or naturally straight-haired women are triggered. Not trying to sympathize with their "plight" (don't see one in this case), just thought I'd ask if this were the other way around how would some view this? But maybe it's not that deep, just fun-shade. What are your all's thoughts? See y'all at the next LIVE! 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾
I agree with everything other than the fact that she said she discovered she had a natural curl after doing those processes. Black women who get relaxers, wigs or silk presses have not done so under the guise of it being their natural hair state.
I guess we are going to have to agree to disagree. I appreciate the respectful conversation. I don't agree about afro comment, I think all of us have a curl/coil pattern, it's just most of us haven't seen it before. Anyway I enjoyed this live.
Alia is me, I take everybody’s clothes. My brother’s, my mom’s, my dad’s, my cousins’, my grandparents’, my brother’s girlfriend. If you leave it around me it’s mine idc. 😭
I feel like there are white men who do generally appreciate us and do not fetishize us and I think he was being sincere, but I feel like a lot of them do not want to offend us because we know we are fetishized most of the time. If you look at his body language and if you watch his other videos, his body language is dull unlike other youtubers and it is like he is part of the background. He wants to show his love but he does not want to offend anybody even if he still says some 'iffy' things in his videos.
I agree with you. But if you listen to his reasons and thought process regarding black women and their hair, it's never as simply just I love afros or natural hair. There's some deep underlining reason that's linked to fetishization. He specifically single out black and mix women which in itself is problematic because he's downplaying his own race of women to uplift black women.
@@AfrikanHairGod I agree but also I think that some white men have probably never understood the black women and generally want to understand more about us. Although I am not dismissing the fact that some white men have been who have been exposed to black culture still make fun of us and also know how to take advantage of our insecurities, I understand that we have put up walls to protect ourselves but sometimes I would just like to hear the other side before I judge. Thank you for playing the video to open up this conversation on a black space.
I was so disturbed by that video. My chest hurt. Something is definitely wrong with this woman for allowing her husband to fricasse her hair while she laid there with her eyes were closed. Therefore, something is wrong with him by proxy.😂😬😬😬
I respectfully disagree regarding the girl with wavy hair. A lot of people who think that they have bone straight hair may actually have a bit of wave. You just don’t see it because it’s such a loose curl pattern. Furthermore, looser curl patterns typically become straight when drenched in water, due to the weight of the water. You can’t really judge the true nature of anyone’s hair when wet since that’s not the hair in its natural state. Hair did not evolve to be wet 24/7 so why use only it’s wet state to determine any of its properties? I also think that the girl has natural wave because when she scrunched her wet hair with no product in it the first time, the hair held a teensy bit of wave. Considering the fact that the wetter your hair is, the less shape it’ll hold, I think it is evidence that she has some naturally wavy hair to hold the shape she was scrunching it into. It strongly suggest that the hair naturally wants to hold the wave despite all the water. Hair doesn’t even hold shape/curl until it’s approximately 70-80% wet so the fact that her completely wet hair holds a shape means it probably wants to. Finally I think the woman’s reaction video was plain mean. She’s just a girl styling and learning about her hair. She’s not trying to imitate a group, but rather learning more about her hair. I personally think that the girl with wavy hair’s results were mediocre, but practice makes perfect and just because it looked a bit weird and stringy, but it doesn’t mean that the wave was forced. We all have hair fails and have to struggle to learn how to style our hair. For instance, learning to style my hair has really been a 40 fails for one success scenario. Let’s be a little kinder Other than that great live and quite a bit more eventful than usual.
You don't understand because you don't understand the study of hair and I say that in the most humbling way. I am no stranger to wavy and straight hair. Caucasian hair is the standard that everyone learns in beauty school. Wet or not her hair dries completely bone straight. At some point her hair, her wavy pattern would begin showing thru. There was nothing, not a curl, a wavy or even frizz. You can disagree but you are choosing to be ignorant to a matter of fact. What she did is no different that you setting your hair in curl formers and saying that you have natural curls. she set her hair to dry in a mushed state. Even damp hair holds memory when you immediately take it out of rods. This is not a matter of opinion or debate. It is what it is.
