  • This weekend we visited my parents hometown in Mexico. The purpose of the trip was to make it out to a Family Reunion on Saturday. Here is what we did on the first day there.

    I've been here. Had a wonderful time! The people were very nice and the food was awesome. Went to this really old catholic church and a candy factory. Did some swimming. Had a little problem communicating but made a good friend and he helped me. I went to the movie house was the only place with air-conditioning but most places had water cooling units. Stayed a whole month. Would definitely come back.

      @weekendintexas my friend I made there invited me to a quinceanera when I was there. It was the best party. We had dancing and live entertainment. I was made to feel very welcomed. Like I said I don't speak a lot of Spanish but found out sometimes it didn't matter. It was all about having fun and meeting new people.

      @@weekendintexas the people were wonderful too. Even though I was a gringo they welcomed me whole heartedly. Rented a small villa for 300 for a month.

    My family is from Muzquiz, which is a bit further down from there, but I was born in the hospital there in Rosita. We moved to Texas when I was 4 in 1970, so I don't really know Rosita or what it looks like today. Only thing I remember of it is the big smoke stack. It's interesting to see the area where I took my first breath.

      Ahhh that’s awesome!! I don’t go there very much but every time if do, there’s a renewed sense of respect for my parents and the people of the town.
      We have another video where we visited Muzquiz for just a few hours too.
      Idk if you’ve seen that one .

    Cool! Here in CA to drive into Baja California or Sonora you can drive pretty far without temporarily importing your US plated car. Do you have to get a permit for a car to go to Nueva Rosita?

      From where we are coming, my parents do usually make a stop before getting there. At that point we are technically already in Mexico. I wonder though coming from you’re area if that would be needed.

    • @WeldzByBigT
      @WeldzByBigT ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I permit is required. There’s one for 7 days and 6 months. You can also get it online or at the some checkpoints on Mexico.
