Yes I can imagine the manual would be great. Mazda do good manual transmissions - I used to own a manual Mazda3. It was a base model, but so much fun to drive. Thanks for watching!
A very practical car. The shape of the boot and the ability to fold the rear seats as you wish 2/1/3 is more important than the simple volume number. I could easily for a washing machine and a lot of tools in the rear. Which was not possible in bigger hatches. The fact that the engine and the gearbox did not change for 10 years (as 99% of the parts) make it really easy to get second hand parts and they fit perfectly. I have more than 100k miles and the only issue is carbon buildup on intake valves which causes missfires when the car is cold / in cat. heating mode after startup. A true workhorse and it makes easily 15km/1lit. But... Change your "lifetime" gear oil and service it every 10,000km and not 15,000.
Mazda build them very well! I had my 2005 Mazda 3 for about 8 years and 100,000kms and it never missed a beat - except when parked pointing uphill with less than a quarter tank of petrol. Then it wouldn't start until I could roll it down the hill to flatter ground. I lived on a hill at the time and it was very annoying. Thanks for watching!
I can't drive manual 😶. But I bought a Mazda 2 new in 2011 (Neo trim) and it was a fun daily driver. Of course, if someone can drive a manual - get it. But auto drivers should not be deterred - I got the 2024 Mazda 2 and for me, it is still the best car compared to it's competitors. Edit: Sadly, the Kia Picanto GT was discontinued. I actually considered the recently facelifted Kia Picanto GT-Line (auto) and although I liked many things about it - it's more of a micro-car (I need the back seats for when I do the after school pick up).
Yes the Picanto is very small, but a lot of fun to drive. You should learn how to drive manual. Find a understanding friend with a manual and have some lessons. It's easy once you know how to use a clutch. Thanks for watching!
I have a 2021 spec Pure manual. It is a fun car to drive. I have lightly modified the exhaust and it sounds good.

I test drove a Suzuki Swift today, it feels so cheap in every respect compare to the mazda 2 for very similar money.
