    Wow. Just wow. What a TOUGH DAY! Next one is going to go your way big time brother. Recover, recharge and then get back in the fight. And taking time away from IM training while prioritizing a body recomp is SMART. Made a huge difference for me. IM training is so demanding. Excited to see the next chapter!

    I was out there with you this year for my rematch with Texas. I'm sorry you experienced a bike crash. I DNF'd at Texas in 2022. Crazy wind that year too. This year I gave Texas the legdrop! Keep at it brother!

      Im almost positive I saw you on the course at some point. That kit was pretty noticeable. Congrats on your finish. I'll be back and I WILL get my revenge.

      @@RobHale81 Are you going for Kona via racing or the Legacy route? I'm going the Legacy route. Just a few races left in my way.

      I don’t want to go the Legacy route, but if that’s how it ends up, so be it. I’ll take it either way.

      @@RobHale81 Right on brother! Seems we're both at the same weight and at the same point in our journey to lose it! I find it near impossible to lose it during big volume and racing.

      Yup, and that’s why I’m taking a few years off of Ironman racing. I gotta lose this weight. I will. I’m focused enough at this point.

    Your goals inspire me !! My Ironman marathon times 6hr+ .. and my best marathon till date is 5hr .. I am getting motivated to focus on running for the rest of the year and have some solid marathon goals !!! Cancelled my Zwift just now .. will get back to biking in Dec to prep for 2025 IMTX !!

    • @RobHale81
      @RobHale81  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I probably would have suggested keeping Zwift as you can always get a quick ride in to keep your fitness. Also, if you’re going to start training for IMTX, I’d probably start in Oct or Nov to get the extra time. That’s what I would tell my athletes. But keep at it and let’s get it done!

    I did the race last Saturday. My first Ironman. That wind was no joke. Tons of crashes. I had a tri-spoke on the front of my bike. I didn’t even attempt to take my hands off the bars to grab hydration. Luckily, my setup has a long drink hose on the BTA bottle, and I made a full stop to fill it up.
    On the run, most people were gassed by the middle of the second loop after getting mauled by the wind.
    I’m doing Lake Placid in July. Will probably do IMTX again, but that wind haunts me.

      @RobHale81  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ll definitely do it again, but it’s gonna be a few years. Good luck in Placid!

    Tough break Rob. Heads winds make the bike leg so tough and dangerous.
    On to the next one. Keep the head up.

    Ron, great video and I am sorry for the rough day. I was targeting 12:30 but ended up 14:01, 45 minutes slower than last year but way better shape. Tough day for everyone. Good luck with the training.

    Dude, absolutely no apology necessary. Things go in the tank sometimes, nothing you can do. Decompress for a while until you feel ready to come back and then let disappointment feed your hunger. I think losing some weight will be a big step in moving your run forward.
    And FYI - I found this channel a while back because of your Chattanooga video. I'm heading there in September for my first full. Truthfully, when I saw the picture of you prior to watching the video, I was thinking "what is this meathead going to say?" I was completely wrong about you (not my first error in life). Love the content and honesty. All the best!!

    • @RobHale81

      “What’s the meathead gonna say” is awesome. Fortunately I’ve been a triathlete longer than a meathead. Lol.
      Thanks for following. The journey never stops, just have to detour for a bit. Good luck in Chatt. It’s a great race, and be ready for those hills on the back side of the run.

    So far I've done a lot of my training indoors. Would you say that only riding on the trainer hurt your race at all?

    • @RobHale81
      @RobHale81  หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, I don’t think that hurt my race. It was definitely the wind. I was strong on the bike and was having a solid ride prior to the crash. The only thing riding outside would have helped with was handling, but in a 25mph wind, it’s gonna be a struggle.

    Hi bro. Dont take this wrong. No offense. But. This video is just one excuse after the other. You gotta stop. 2 dnf’s in 2 years isnt the courses fault. I crashed this year also and finished. And swam slower. Same wind. Same heat. And why do this race again? Its like this every year. Diet. Lose 20lbs. Train harder. Less excuses.

    • @RobHale81
      @RobHale81  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I owned the DNF both times. I dont blame the course. The crash was avoidable, but it happened and I gritted through it and kept going until I couldn't take the pain. And I'll race it again because I know I should have been able to finish it.
