That reminds me of the Viewing Party episode from season 7 where Pam tries to put Cece to sleep and it wasn’t until Dwight held her in his arms and almost immediately she stopped crying and fell asleep only to have Pam come to the realization that Cece loves Dwight. Since then I’ve wondered if they’ve ever given any thought about a potential relationship involving Cece and Phillip just to make Dwight and Jim brother-in-laws. It’s been my biggest fan theory since The Office (US) was canceled.
Oscar asking Angela to live with him is one of the best scenes in The Office. It shows that The Office is so much more than comedy, it's about character development and friendships (and romantic relationships too but that's obvious).
And it's immediately followed by heartbreaking scene with Angela breaking down in Oscar's car. These 2 scenes are some of my favorite in the whole series
After the garden party when everyone overhears Andy’s dad say he isn’t proud of him and they call come together to throw a barbecue and make him feel better
Look at Pam’s smile when Jim asked her out to dinner as a date, in that moment right there she saw herself getting married to that guy, having kids and growing old together for the rest of their lives. That look is so precious🥺
Steve carrel actually had no idea about the goodbye song and those tears were real. That wasn’t acting he was actually so upset about leaving all of his friends and this amazing show that when they surprised him with that song that was his real reaction. That just shows how much he really cared about them in real life.
No because that’s the line that stuck out to me the most in the whole show. That whole scene. It set my standards for the kind of love I should be looking for. It was such a tearjerker.
This show was willing to do something that most acts of cinematography aren’t. When people were sad, or emotional, or their hearts were full, we saw real emotion. Not Hollywood’s version of “attractive crying,” we saw red eyes, real feeling reactions. And to me, that makes this show very special
You missed the "When you're a kid, you assume your parents are soulmates." "My kids are gonna be right about that." That was pretty hard! (That's what she said =D)
That whole plot was done perfectly because they build that Jim said something terrible about relationships or about Pam and then the slow reveal of the fact that Jim told her dad that he always knew she was his soulmate makes me literally feel how much the actors became these characters. John and Jenna might not be in love in real life but they do have a deep emotional connection to their characters and their relationship. It’s a masterful demonstration of what happens when two actors portraying a romantic relationship BECOME their characters
What about the scene of Dwight crying when Angela isn’t into him, only for Jim to comfort him in the stairwell, or when Dwight defends Pam during that Jamaica episode or Michael’s proposal to Holly, or Jim and Michael’s goodbye, or Jim and Michael talking on the boat or a lot of Jim and Michael scenes
IjuanSena2169 or when Angela is crying over her cat and Michael goes “oh no sprinkles?” And then is sad to. It really shows how much he cares about the people he works with
Jim talking to Dwight about marrying Angela, Jim's marriage plan, (in my opinion it may not be to other people) Dwight finally getting the position of manager.
Michael befriending Sasha, Toby's daughter, is one of my favorite scenes. Michael is all frozen and awkward at first, thinking he has no way to relate to some kid he doesn't know. But they immediately bond over his collection of toys and soon she's giggling and then he asks if she already has a godfather, which is so precious! Michael would make an amazing uncle or godfather.
"Having Luke here is a pretty big deal for me. Because his mother, who also happens to be my half sister, kind of cut me off from that side of the family fifteen years ago--fourteen. The last time I saw Luke, was the opening day of Ace Ventura 2. And that was '95. So yes, fifteen years on the dot. [long pause] Anyway, I lost him in a forest."

I love the fact that When Dwight found Pam crying on a bench, his immediate reaction was "Who did this to you? Where is he?" Dwight was ready to throw down because someone hurt Pam
@@GSDPops She's upset that now that she has realized that she has feelings for Jim, he turned her down, since he's with Karen. It's a whole mess of frustations, mixed with the pain of seing a happy Jim with someone else
Jim’s reaction to Pam’s pregnancy is the most heartwarming thing in the world I just can’t. When his voice breaks after finding out and when he hugs her and when his eyes light up. Ahhhh my hearttt
They were playing volleyball before this, with Scranton vs Corporate. He told Dwight to send in the subs, cause they weren't going to be back in time to finish the game. But yes, Dwight and Jim are the true love story of The Office hahaha.
Thats heart warming enough!! If Jim didn’t prank Dwight the chances of Jim and Pam getting together decrease by too much!! Dwight means so much to Jim and Pam even if they don’t always show that!!
Where was she before that? They showed her going into a theater or something and the alibi was to pick up a new printer. I thought she was getting something for Michael’s going away party but they never really explained what happened.
I love how the only person who came and actually admired Pam’s art (Oscar came and talked bad about it which made Pam feel bad so it doesn’t count) was Michael, and the only person that came to the airport to say the last goodbye to Michael was Pam. Pam was the only person who truly understood Michael, she was like a daughter to him, she always was there for him, and though they didn’t always get along, Pam’s really the only person that Michael showed his sweet side to, not making jokes, just being nice because he truly loves her, I dont know why I just think they had such an amazing relationship it’s awesome.
The moment Oscar offers Angela a place to stay always makes me tear up, it's refreshing to see this realness and generosity in a dynamic with a non-romantic duo
It’s the Oscar and Angela scene for me. They’re both such cold and awkward characters, but they have an amazing connection. The senator drove a wedge between them, but they overcame it together. Angela had a baby to support, and her ex husband had thrown her out on the streets. Oscar wasn’t going to let her go through that alone. They had one of the best storylines in the show in my opinion.
It especially warms my heart to see how Angela had been judgemental and cruel towards him because of her religion, but overcame that and saw him as a person first, then a friend, and by then his sexual orientation doesn’t matter. It’s so beautiful, this show is actually genius writing.
When michael was the only one who showed up I really felt like crying, it’s just so genuine what he did and he said he rushed there to see Pams paintings which meant he never forgot about her. Something just made me really feel touched
Surprised nobody mentioned Jim cutting his tie to match Pam's screwed veil. It's such a small and sweet scene, but the way he so casually does it, replies to her "Now we are even", and she holds not to break down, while making the mental picture gesture, ALWAYS gets me. No grand gestures, not big monologues, just a small act to say "I'm with you". Oof. There are several reasons all viewers cheer for Pam and Jim as a couple and find them so relatable, and this scene encapsulates it perfectly.
I've watched the wedding episode so many times, and I ALWAYS end up in a puddle of happy tears. We all know a Jim and a Pam, or we want to be in that couple.
Most underrated scene that I haven’t seen anyone talk about: Dwight holding out his hand to Jim in gratitude after Jim saves his job especially after their big physical fight
@@amayah4598 When they were in Florida to make Dwight vp when they opened the Sabre store and they were gonna fire him. Jim stopped him from going inside the conference room and Todd Packer went in instead and got the axe.
One of the most heartwarming things about the 9,986,000 minutes song is that Toby was there and sang one of the lines which shows that he cares about Michael.
What I love so much about this show is that it shows platonic friendships between men and women. Like Dwight and Phyllis, Oscar and Angela or even Erin and Michael.
read the initial comment again…Michael & Erin are like a father daughter type. Angela & Oscar, well we know Oscar is gay so I’d say Dwight & phyllis or Dwight & Pam
They missed a big one - when Pam gets off the phone with her dad when her parents are splitting up. Her dad says jim told him how much he loved Pam and he never felt that way about his wife. It definitely has sad elements but that moment is so heartwarming it really speaks beautifully to the strength of their relationship.
Fun fact: Because the airport scene wasn't mic'd up, Jenna Fischer was thanking Steve Carell for their time on the show. This is why it felt so real, it's because it was.
Angela and Oscar scene was legit the best one. I hoped they would of had more scenes as it was touching too see Angela open up towards someone that she least expected. How Oscar also took care of her and even went as far too help her take care of her kid was so touching!! So happy they both got happy endings.
Just Cruz not really Jim called Dwight and told him to send I the substitute players cause they where playing volleyball and Pam Injured herself and that why there at the hospital
Garik Israyelyan ok, I got you, man. It’s not like I’m some kind of language guru, but I think you can say “these scenes wouldn’t be half as good as they are, if actors weren’t that talented”
Diana Milkovich I was just trying to understand what exactly was incorrect in that sentence. Thank you very much though, I’ll definitely use your phrase in future🙏🏼
My favourite heart-warming scene is when Michael and Dwight return to the office Olympics, and Jim gives them "medals", moving Michael to tears (used to make me cry). Also when Jim sings with michael at his BBQ.
According to the podcast, Michael wasn’t supposed to cry in the script but Steve decided that he would act it out as an emotional scene and the cast just went with it.
@@jaydeepbose4501 Angela went from being disgusted by Oscar's sexuality to having him be the godfather of phillip, if that's not character development then I have no idea what is
How is Jim's last interaction with Micheal where he says "Save it for tomorrow when we have lunch tomorrow and I'll tell you what an amazing boss you are" not on here? Talk about a tear jerker!
@@namjooningfr I would consider it because it was Jim thanking Michael for being the best boss he ever had. I think that would be very heart warming and wholesome!
I can't get enough of the way dwight says "I know" when Pam tells him he doesn't have to comfort her. His smile and genuine delivery is just perfect. He is a caring person beneath the insults and the beets.
Personally, I liked Creed's line in the finale when he says he still has his medal from Flonkerton. For someone like him who ultimately values nothing finds value in something so mundane it's testament to the connection they all shared and tribute to the very heart of the show.
When everyone is singing the "nine million nine hundred eighty six thousand minutes" Song Steve Carell did not know it was going to happen all the acting from him is genuine
The most heart warming part of the office was when Kevin dropped his chilli. I will never forget the burning sensation on my chest when I saw that poor guy try to save his chilli.
I think Michael underneath his annoying and obnoxious personality is a sweet, caring, and nice person. I think because Michael was bullied as a child, he was taught that it was cool to be obnoxious and was taught that saying rude jokes was cool and funny. Its when Holly shows up that he realizes that being a nice person is cooler than being the way he is. Which is just amazing, character building. I always thought the show was the growth of Michael. Every season he usually becomes more and more of a better person right up until he leaves, when his character is complete. And I think mostly Jim and Pam realize that Michael was really a good person.
dwight also thought highly of michael. i remember when he was angry michael didnt give him manager position but got all softened up when he read the letter michael left him. he was so overjoyed when michael made it to his wedding
Oscar and Angelas relationship is honestly beautiful. she's so conservative and cold, which Oscar acknowledges, yet they went through so much together and the compassion Oscar shows her in the end, idk gives me chills.
@@HooksBill do you happen to be conservative? because the truth is neither side is really that much different, it's just your group seems better to you.
You forgot the scene where Pam and Jim are kissing and Dwight looks up at them from the rearview mirror from his car and then just smiles. one of the most purest scenes in my opinion
The scene at 11:20 is my favorite, but my favorite part of this scene you cut out, it's when Dwight sees Pam crying and says "WHO DID THIS TO YOU? I will find them". I love that scene because it shows just how much Dwight cares for his friend.
One of my favorite scenes is when Andy and Dwight are playing “Country Roads” together and keep one upping each other to try to impress Erin, but in the end they forget about Erin simply because they enjoyed their harmony together.
I love how the last thing that Micheal said was “that’s what she said” when he left to go live with holly and the first thing he said when he came back for the finale was the same :)
I'm guessing there was at least one instance during the series where Michael naturally uses that phrase in a plainer context when talking to someone, then realizes it right after... ?
Kevin W do you mean when Michael and Jim are talking and Michael says something like “I like to try to lighten the tension when things get hard” and then Jim says “that’s what she said”?
@@noone3305 well I haven't actually watched much of the American series myself, just a few scant episodes here and there and then different clip packages on here. I don't know the moment you're referencing, but it sounds like that the phrase was still being played as a joke, but it was Jim saying it to Michael instead of Michael to someone else. But no what I meant was, given how long of a running gag the thing was apparently in the series, I think it could've been quite funny if there's a scene where Michael's talking to someone, and what that person says is totally benign, like "and she told you she wanted to come to the party?", and not even trying to be snarky, just answering the question Michael would say as a perfectly natural response to that question of "well, that's what she said". Then you have this whole drawn out moment where it gradually dawns on Michael he just said his signature joke but in a totally different, normal context, but it still makes himself crack up, or something like that.

ha! that's what she said
That whole plot was done perfectly because they build that Jim said something terrible about relationships or about Pam and then the slow reveal of the fact that Jim told her dad that he always knew she was his soulmate makes me literally feel how much the actors became these characters.

Michael befriending Sasha, Toby's daughter, is one of my favorite scenes. Michael is all frozen and awkward at first, thinking he has no way to relate to some kid he doesn't know.

I think Michael underneath his annoying and obnoxious personality is a sweet, caring, and nice person. I'm guessing there was at least one instance during the series where Michael naturally uses that phrase in a plainer context when talking to someone, then realizes it right after... ?
Technically his last line is “it’s like all my kids grew up and married each other. It’s every parents dreams.”
