Preach it kuya J huhu 🙌 I'm a first year college student and I'm under the influence of my aunt (she pays for my tuition and all that), she wanted me to take nursing in college but I don't want to so I said I wanted to be in the art course. But to my dismay she disagrees and suggested to choose a different course aside from art. So I decided to take architecture. When it was my first sem in archiTORTURE, I was already drained and loss my will to function. Though I have good grades, I still skipped some classes just to finish my models for a different class. I fell under a nervous breakdown after that. Now I willingly told my parents I want to be in an art course and to them to not tell my aunt that I'll be shifting on 2nd sem because she might prolly kill me and won't let me go to school. So my parents didn't tell her and I shifted to Fine arts to pursue art and become an art teacher someday! So far I'm still building the courage to tell her. And I'm working on repaying her for the 1st sem money she paid for architecture. I'm a freelance artist working on illustrations and concept designs on the side so I can have extra funds for my school needs! Kahit na masakit, sinunod ko sila kase they are working for my future. For me, it was my obligation as their daughter. Pinapaaral nila ako and i'm living sa bahay nila. After two years in college, I supported myself through my writing gigs pero I stayed sa course ko for my parents parin. To make the long story short, I finished my business course, got offers from companies pero hindi ko tinake kase I'm earning more than enough sa writing gigs ko. Katulad ng sabi ni kuya Jericho, everything works together for good to those who love God. I didn't expect na magbubukas ng opportunities si Lord sa akin sa writing industry. But it happened. Now, my mom understood my passion. She supports me na sa gusto kong path kase nakita niya na yung potential ko. I supported myself for 2 years sa college. So next year, she'll pay for my first sem tuition fee sa writing school sa Sydney so I can finally pursue my dream of becoming a professional writer. Minsan, kailangan lang talaga natin magsacrifice. Taking up a course against my will led me to quarter life crisis right now. Ang daming factors na naaffected. Gusto ng nanay ko na maging medical ang profession ko. I took Medtech, and Psych and both failed it. And after ng ilang taon na kinakain ako ng depression (Psych ang course ko that time). Si mama ang naghanap ng school kung saan may Multimedia Arts, I almost cried ng sinabi nya na "Ayaw kong magkaroon ng anak na robot lang, sumusunod kasi yun ang sinabi ko."
So kahit sobrang hirap ng animation and paggawa ko ng designs. I love what i'm doing, and I'm pursuing my dream. 😊
