Just trying to give advice... but have you tried inkbrush? It's my main, and I usually get about 1300 point on average with it. My highest with it (in splatoon 2 ) was a whopping 2617 points(without win bonus). I'd give it a go.

Yeah you want to NOT ink base in the start because it waste space for special farming and puts your teammates at a number disadvantage
