Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, January 7, 2020 - Thailand registered their first victory following a 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-16) win over Chinese Taipei in the AVC Women’s Tokyo Volleyball Qualification tournament at Chatchai Hall in Nakhon Ratchasima on Tuesday.
Thailand head coach Danai Sriwacharamaytakul: "It was our first game of the tournament at home, so I think we started a little bit nervous especially in the beginning of the first and second sets. So to bring the players potential and our level back was quite difficult. I had to encourage them more and I am glad that finally we came back to our own game. This tournament is very important for us, so we need to focus a lot more. We have to improve more on the side-out and service reception.
"We have yet to think of the final as we will focus on one match at a time. We will not underestimate Australia who are our next opponents, as they are very tall with high blocking and they play in a European style. We have to give more speed in order to compete against them."
Thailand team captain Nootsara Tomkom: "I am very happy that we could beat them, but it was not easy at all. We can see our weaknesses and what we have to improve more today. They did a pretty good job in serving and defense which made our attacks reduce in efficiency. We also have to adjust our service reception in the next matches."

Taipei has a good standard as always, not easy game for Thailand.
I love the way Thai team run up their score pretty quick while, Taipei has to did their best to get each score. I saw every Thai fighter position can make a good dig, block and shuffle their position very often. Keep up good job both team.
Match between Thailand and South Korea winner will be decided by who have stronger mentally here. Whoever can put pressure to the opponent on receiving served will win.

This is second round of qualification, Only one team will be qualified from each continent.
Ricardo Sii There are 5 empty slots for qualification. Such slots are for 5 continents ( Asia, Europe, Africa, South America and North America) 1 ticket for each continent.

I'm rooting for Thailand to win but considering how Koreas almost won the ticket against Russia, Korea may have a bigger advantage here.
Last time Thailand played with Russia ( full team with Goncharova) in World Championship, they needed a fifth set decider which Russian won. Last 3 meeting between Thailand and South Korea in major tournaments ( not vnl) it 2-1 to Thailand but it was so close. So it gonna be 50/50 chance on both sides. Which team can bring their A game and have stronger mentally will win.
@@diabloimmortal1117 same thing that happened with the olympic qualifier between korea and russia. Korea was leading all the time actually. They just lost during the crucial moments. I do hope Thailand wins it since they never made it yet to the Olympics. Russia, Thailand, Korea will not end up in the podium for sure but the honor in going to the Olympics is enough.
Sorry here,you can't compare TH&Kor.Againsting Russia I think Kor has an advantage than TH players including power and height.

Republic of China is the official name of Taiwan, Taiwan is short name of geographic name of Taiwan Island. "Chinese Taipei" is designated in the Nagoya Resolution whereby the ROC and the People's Republic of China (PRC) recognize each other when it comes to the activities of the International Olympic Committee and its correlates.
Thank you for calling Taiwan like it is called and not crawling up the a** of China by calling it "Chinese Taipei". I've noticed for a while now that the Olympic Committee themselves already have forgotten that the Olympics are to be free of politic influences and religion influences.
Your statement is the political one. Taiwan still recognizes China so they go by Chinese Taeipei. Ofcourse, I hope they get to be free from China and be their on their own for once. But for now, there's nothing "political" about their name because legally, it is correct.
