I just love this ❤. What a great family!! I saw Rod in Bossier City LA in the 80s I believe, and it was awesome. He’s so down to earth, he was playing frisbee with some fans on a little hill by the stadium. One of my favorite singers ever and his voice has endured !! Love you Rod ❤

I had the privilege and honor of meeting you, Rod, in Chattanooga, TN several years ago. You were in town for a concert and I worked at Krystal Aviation at the Chattanooga Airport. Working at the airport allowed me to meet many famous entertainers and celebrities. I must say, i truly believe you were the most humble and appreciative celebrity I had the distinct honor of meeting. Your attitude and graciousness to the few gathered around to hopefully meet you was far beyond that of the majority of people. You treated all of us like we were long lost neighbors whom you were truly glad to see again. You posed for pictures with a young lady and asked me to get a photo of you with her and her boyfriend. But, the most impressive thing you did, was use our names in conversation. You even remembered my name when you came back after the concert. You refused to answer to Mr. Stewart. "Mr. Stewart is my dad. My name is Rod." is what you told us. LOL. I have never forgotten how you treated us with respect and genuine grace. In fact, I tell the story of meeting you several times a year and this happened 25 or 26 years ago. I stumbled across this video on TH-cam and simply wanted to say THANK YOU.
I've never met him, but I have noticed he's one of those celebs who doesn't take himself too seriously. Especially if you watch the "warm-up" sort of video from 1992 of "Handbags and Gladrags" (here on TH-cam), he seems the type of performer who simply likes performing, and yet he knows that what he's doing is a craft; he doesn't let it bleed over too much into "real life." In short, I can totally believe he's the unpretentious and well-grounded man of your story.
That is the most perfect pocket show ever.. guitar, piano, percussion and a Capela, Wow... It touched and moved me! I got to tell you: I was born and raised in a hippie community/sect (the COG ) where it wasnt allowed outside music. So, as soon as I was old enough, 17 I guess, I left! Once I was travelling in the country side of Brazil and the bus made a 10min stop at this tiny roadside bus station, I got off to strech my legs and walked into a small cassete tape store, and mind you, I had never ever heard about Rod Steward, and my eyes fell upon this name, and I thought the names of the songs were very interesting, so I bought it, and right away listened to it in my walkman the rest of the trip! And have been a fan and admirer ever since! Long live!!! Love from Brazil!❤😎

I've always liked Rod Stewart. In his interviews - past, and present - he always seems well-grounded and not snobbish. He loved and respected his parents (very important), and had a good upbringing. He's appreciative of what he has earned and hasn't let fame and fortune affect him in a negative way. Pround of you, Rod and may the Lord continue to bless you and your family. Lovely daughter, Ruby.
It cracks me up... playing to totally no response weirds out every single performer until they get used to working in a vacuum - even the biggest stars - but once they get accustomed to it, they relax. Thank you for the this video. I just happened to run across it. This is November 2020, and cases are continuing to rise. There is hope with the vaccines that are showing about 90% + efficacy in the trials. Rod, you have always been one of my favorites, and I go way back to my freshman year of college in fall of 1971. It was a pleasure to hear your daughter sing with you. Thank you, Ruby, Rod, and the rest of your family for producing this video. I am very thankful for the medical people and first responders. This will not last forever, but we must continue with good practice and follow the science. Prayers for all. Maybe another video sometime???

This is a great video, BUT does anyone know why Trumpeter Anne King and Saxophonist Katja Reikermann no longer play in his band since 2016? I think they put that band "over the top" in excellence, and they played with him for years. I can't find any explanation on the internet........
I presume you know Rod had a daughter in 1963, Sarah, who he gave up for adoption, and only recently has he somewhat reconciled with her, according to interviews she has given to news-media.
I happen to be reading Rod: The Autobiography . His autobiography. He is totally upfront what occurred with Sarah, his first child, who was adopted at birth by Brigadier Gerald Thubron and his wife Evelyn. But one day in October 1982 they, plus Sarah plus a tabloid journalist arrived on his doorstep in L.A. Rod's first wife, Alana Hamilton, had just had their first two kids, Kimberly and Sean, in 1979 and 1980. This first meeting with Sarah apparently was very awkward, but they reconciled again in 1985 (with no tabloid journalists present this time), and again in 2007 when Sarah's adoptive mother died. But he did introduce Sarah to people at Wembley in 1986, when he played there, saying it was "special" to introduce her to people backstage, saying "this is my eldest daughter, Sarah." This autobiography is a must-read if you're a Rod Stewart fan. He's no angel that's for sure, but what a life he's had.
Edit: Sarah was only officially adopted when she was 5 years old; not at birth. Her birth mother lives in France now-a-days and appears not to want to reconcile with her birth daughter or Rod Stewart.

I just love this ❤. What a great family!! I saw Rod in Bossier City LA in the 80s I believe, and it was awesome. He’s so down to earth, he was playing frisbee with some fans on a little hill by the stadium. One of my favorite singers ever and his voice has endured !! Love you Rod ❤

I had the privilege and honor of meeting you, Rod, in Chattanooga, TN several years ago. You were in town for a concert and I worked at Krystal Aviation at the Chattanooga Airport. Working at the airport allowed me to meet many famous entertainers and celebrities. I must say, i truly believe you were the most humble and appreciative celebrity I had the distinct honor of meeting. Your attitude and graciousness to the few gathered around to hopefully meet you was far beyond that of the majority of people. You treated all of us like we were long lost neighbors whom you were truly glad to see again. You posed for pictures with a young lady and asked me to get a photo of you with her and her boyfriend. But, the most impressive thing you did, was use our names in conversation. You even remembered my name when you came back after the concert. You refused to answer to Mr. Stewart. "Mr. Stewart is my dad. My name is Rod." is what you told us. LOL. I have never forgotten how you treated us with respect and genuine grace. In fact, I tell the story of meeting you several times a year and this happened 25 or 26 years ago. I stumbled across this video on TH-cam and simply wanted to say THANK YOU.

Especially if you watch the "warm-up" sort of video from 1992 of "Handbags and Gladrags" (here on TH-cam), he seems the type of performer who simply likes performing, and yet he knows that what he's doing is a craft; he doesn't let it bleed over too much into "real life." In short, I can totally believe he's the unpretentious and well-grounded man of your story.

Thank you for the this video. I just happened to run across it. This is November 2020, and cases are continuing to rise. There is hope with the vaccines that are showing about 90% + efficacy in the trials. Rod, you have always been one of my favorites, and I go way back to my freshman year of college in fall of 1971. It was a pleasure to hear your daughter sing with you. Thank you, Ruby, Rod, and the rest of your family for producing this video. I am very thankful for the medical people and first responders. This will not last forever, but we must continue with good practice and follow the science. Prayers for all. Maybe another video sometime???

I presume you know Rod had a daughter in 1963, Sarah, who he gave up for adoption, and only recently has he somewhat reconciled with her, according to interviews she has given to news-media.
I happen to be reading Rod: The Autobiography . His autobiography. He is totally upfront what occurred with Sarah, his first child, who was adopted at birth by Brigadier Gerald Thubron and his wife Evelyn.
But one day in October 1982 they, plus Sarah plus a tabloid journalist arrived on his doorstep in L.A.
Rod's first wife, Alana Hamilton, had just had their first two kids, Kimberly and Sean, in 1979 and 1980.
This first meeting with Sarah apparently was very awkward, but they reconciled again in 1985 (with no tabloid journalists present this time), and again in 2007 when Sarah's adoptive mother died. But he did introduce Sarah to people at Wembley in 1986, when he played there, saying it was "special" to introduce her to people backstage, saying "this is my eldest daughter, Sarah."
This autobiography is a must-read if you're a Rod Stewart fan. He's no angel that's for sure, but what a life he's had.
Edit: Sarah was only officially adopted when she was 5 years old; not at birth. Her birth mother lives in France now-a-days and appears not to want to reconcile with her birth daughter or Rod Stewart.
