Small correction: you can't give more keys to the crucible because the number of keys used depends on the number of elements (Sooza would need 3, Yelmut 4, etc.)
the part i dislike about the amber island is that unlike the wublins, you don't have time to breed half of the monsters and zap them all immediately so you've already done a few monsters right as the timer starts, so you have to buy them, see what they need while the timer is already up, and then start breeding.
Technically you can get a head start on monsters from previous waves with a wiki, but yeah there's no in-game way to prep. It would be nice, especially since I find amber vessels more difficult to get than wublins in general

I’ve only been playing for a little over a month and I have all the islands and a third of the zynth farm. You can choose what you want to do next afterwards

Yes but Kayna is harder to fill than most vessels despite being a single element, so it's a trade-off, more time spent but you aren't under a time limit.

You actually need 15 woken up monsters to unlock Crucible, when you get 5 woken up monsters the game tricks you and the amber around the crucible just cracks a little bit but you dont actually unlock the crucible, then the game says you need 10 monsters which is also a lie, finally after you get 10 monsters the game says you need 15 and after you get 15 it unlocks for real.

Quint monsters are easy to predict since 90% of the time they only require some of every monster from their corresponding element
