They are both Marriage into the family after having an affair with their now spouses.

Angela GAN she is not always the most hardworking royal, but the press make it look that way
Charles performs more engagements in one day, but he is very busy with other things
Anne can spread her engagements over more days as she has more free time
so the press look at the number of days she spreads her engagements over
      not a fair way
theres very few engagements between them, in a normal year its over 500
but Charles does private engagements which aren't counted, some of the Queen's duties
plus such as his work with The Prince's Trust etc

    • @vickyRoyalHistory
      @vickyRoyalHistory 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

You are exactly right. The sad truth for the Queen is, she outclasses all her brothers, except Prince Edward & they share a very close relationship. She outclasses many of her Nieces & Nephews & their Partners, & with the next generations of Great Nieces & Nephews coming through she really must be an imposing figure. There was a story going around that she was the absolute heroine & object of awe to Princess Charlotte Cambridge, who seems to have inherited the Equine Gene from her fathers family. Princess Anne is only too happy to give the young girl some tips & points as she has obviously seen some promise in the child. It's strange to hear little bits of gossip like that & realise the RF are human & have similar family dynamics to us, they just have to live their lives in Public & their every move analysed, criticised & discussed. I wouldn't trade my ordinary life for theirs.

      @vickyRoyalHistory 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

@@lsmith9249 I object to your belittling tone where it comes to Princess Anne. She has not got free time than Charles, she has twice the number of Charles' personal Philanthropic organisations, as well as her Royal appointments & Royal Charities. She took over many of the Late Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother's Royal appointments. In amongst that she bought up 2 Children & has a lot of interests that don't appear in the Court Circular, because they are not Royal engagements. It is right & correct should take over a lot of the Queens Work load, because 1 day & I hope it's years away, he will have to take over all her work & there will be many of his interests move also. The Duchy of Cornwall will pass to Prince William. But many more of the Queens Appointments will need to go to a woman. Although I have nothing against Camilla, I fear some of the older organisations the Queen is involved with, may not Welcome Camilla, that would only leave Anne, Sophie & Catherine to step up, and they may not be able to. However, if Charles gets his way & brings Henry & Henrietta in from the cold, there are more options. The Princess Royal does not travel overseas as much as Charles does, that may give the illusion of his higher workload, but as he manages to have a day or two engagement free days, that isn't necessarily more workdays but as the entire time away is counted as workdays, it gives the impression that it is. The Princess Royal is consistently in the top 2 of hardest working & more engagements than most other Royals. Let's just agree & move on from that. I don't intend to get into another 2 & fro Marathon comment fest with you again.

@@vickyRoyalHistory it wasn't a belittling tone, i've always been a fan of Anne's, but she is a younger sibling
things are more relaxed for them, they do have more time
this year the Festival of British Eventing will be back at Gatcombe Park
which she loves and is involved in
but what has the military appointments that used to be our Queen Mother's got to do with anything
and why would any of The Queen's Military Appointments pass to a woman
a Monarch inherits most of their Military Appointments from the previous Monarch
so she inherited most of them from her father and Charles will inherit them
also The Monarch inherits most of their patronages, so the Queen has patronages that were originally Queen Victoria's and these will be inherited by Charles
they won't pass to Camilla or the others
and Charles packs more engagements because he has other work, The Queen's duties, The Duchy of Cornwall, The Prince's Trust, Dumfries House, The Privy Council are just some
so it is more than an illusion that he has a bigger workload, even members of the family call him a workload and its not a criticism of Anne
and The Duchy of Cornwall will pass to William, and The Duchy of Lancaster will pass to Charles
and harry being brought back into the family doesn't mean he'll become a working royal again
      they are earning money
and public opinion here does matter

Princess Anne is one of my favourite Royals. Many years ago a friend used to be in the Australian Navy. One time they were visiting an English port and young Princess Anne happened to be there on an official engagement. When she found out that there was an Australian Navy ship there, she summoned a boat and went over to say hello to the sailors. Friend said that she was funny and completely at ease with them. She couldn't stay long because of other engagements but the fact that she took time out to go over and say hello to them meant a lot to them.

Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence is certainly an asset to the RF. He is a man of quiet dignity and impeccable manners. The fact that he was an officer in the Royal Navy has given him a strong sense of duty and loyalty. So it is understandable why Princess Anne has called him "her rock", in the same way that Her Majesty The Queen described Prince Philip - "he has quite simply been my strength and stay, all these years".

Sir Timothy had the added advantage of being well bought up with a good moral compass & good manners, but along with being in the Navy & working his way up the ranks on his own ability, he was then asked to Court to be an Equerry for Prince Philip & the Queen. He served well in that capacity & was respected by not only by the Principles but buy other Senior Court staff as well. He's very discrete, an exceptionally Private Person, & totally trustworthy. I can see his appeal for Princess Anne, after the behaviour of her first husband. Her Children have not only accepted him, he has become not only a confidante but a source of wisdom too. He has no personal agenda, but I suspect any threat to his wife, step children or Grand Step Children would be thoroughly unwise.

In fact, she has always been one of the most "hard working" members of the RF over the years, attending charitable and ceremonial events, but we tend not to hear about her activities very often, because she is not covered much in the national press. This is probably because journalists cannot work up enough "sensational headlines" about her, so they concentrate on other members of the RF instead!
She has been quite busy so far this year, planting trees for the Queen's Green Canopy initiative, and visiting Paris, as well making the recent tour to Australia and Papua New Guinea to celebrate Platinum Jubilee events. And all done in a very down-to-earth way. She is a marvel!

I like Timothy Laurence, always have since he came out of the shadows behind Princess Anne & always will. I well remember the issue with the letters & I was pleasantly Surprised the Newspaper people, did read them, but then decided not to publish them, especially as they'd been stolen. Sir Tim appeared to be well liked by Prince Philip & The Queen, He & the late Prince Philip loved "real" Cricket, test cricket & duties permitting, they'd watch it on TV over a couple of Beers & had a fine time, according to I think it was Ingrid Seward. I suspect that being in the Security & Lady-in-waiting entourage, The Princess Royal's Royal Protection Officer would have to move quickly if anyone attempted to harm her, because her husband looks like he'd severely damage anyone who attempted to haem his wife. I think they are well suited & that picture of a comfortably furnished room with lots of family collectables & clutter suits both of them. There's nothing better than being Mr & Mrs Comfy Slippers, when you get an evening together with no engagements & you can curl up the old sofa & watch TV or a Movie. I wish them many more years of wedded happiness that they both seem to enjoy

I simply adore the Princess Anne Royal. I'm so thrilled that the Princess has found her soul mate. I couldn't be happier for the Princess Royal and Sir Timothy Lawrence. They seem so much in love without all the unnessary PDA. May they have a rich and full live with nothing but happiness and good health. Aslo, the Princess Anne's two children are so special, and you can tell they had a fantastic upbringing. They are well mannered and polite. And they love and adore Her Majesty the Queen of England. Zara is just so beautiful and lady like. You can see how much she loves her Mum, her step father and her 3 children. She's quite the lady , just like her Mum, the Princess Royal. And the Princess Royal is by far, bar none, the hardest working Royal. The Princess Royalbdoes her duties in a quiet way, she doesn't need the accolades, the lady knows what her duties are, and does so to perfection. Her one( of many) charities, Feed the Children holds a special place in her heart. What would the world do without her, the Princess just rolls her sleeves up and gets on with it; without any fanfare, or accolades. The Princess is extremely special to me. I'm Canadian, but that has nothing to do with my admiration for the Princess Royal. She's one lady to be admired for all she does. And the loving way she is with her Mum, it's not fake. The.Princess Royal truly loves her family and it shows.

Brenda Needle Our Queen's younger children once got plenty of attention, the attention is focused on those closest to the throne and Anne was 4th in line in the 60s and 70s, But as new generations are born those who are not heirs drop down the line of succession, when Princess Alexandra was born she was 6th in line to the
throne, she's now 57th, Anne will get less and less attention, at the moment she is the Sovereign's daughter
but she will be the Sovereign's sister and if she's still living when william becomes King she'll be the
      Sovereign's aunt
and Zara has been accused of using her royal connections to make money and so was Peter

There are so many parallels between Prince Philip and Sir Timothy. Sir Timothy is such a beautiful asset for the Royal family just like Duchess Katherine is. Such assets is what the „firm“ needs. Pronce Philip and Sir Timothy of are both the rock and main stay for their spouses, the Queen and Princess Anne. I just hope that Princess Anne will not have the same process to go through like her mother. I am in great sorry for her Majesty the Queen. She seems to have less and less power since Prince Philip has passed. It is as if she longs to follow her husband to the rainbow meadow.

He reminds me so much of Prince Philip; we girls who adore our fathers do best with a man like them. May they both be happily re-united and rest in peace. My condolences to all the British people.

In her 70s she hasnt slowed down. Her husband knows her well. He will be at her side where ever life takes them. They keep their private lives close so to guve nothing to the trying paparazzi that stalk the royals everywhere they go. Princess Anne is a very private person rarely showing her true self .
She has proven quietly her loyalty and duty to her country.
