These two i feel sympathy for. They lost so much and i can't imagine the ptsd Aegon III has when he thinks of his mother.
Remember everyone fighting in this war and claiming to be better than the other can never be as good as Aegon III and Viserys II

If not for Otto and Alicent, the Targaryans couldve been renewed and made stronger during that particular era/generation. Think about all the kids Aegon and Helaena couldve had, pure Targaryans. And little Aegon and Jahaera couldve married when they became of age and had multiple pure Targaryan children. And if Rhaenyra's daughter had lived, she couldve married Daeron. Then, think about the Velaryon name being continued with Rhaenyra's sons and the Velaryon girls. I know ppl are going to say but they werent truly Velaryon. Doesnt matter. As Corlys said in the show, "generations from now, ppl will remember name not blood." Aemond wouldve married some woman from another house and had Targaryan children. So too Little Viserys. It would have been a new dynasty, had they all just gotten along and not been so greedy and hateful. If Alicent hadnt instilled such hate and fear for Rhaenyra in her children and if Otto hadnt been so shady, the dance wouldnt have happened. They shouldve backed their sister's claim to the throne. Had they done so, no one in the realm would have been able to challenge her or any of them with them banding together and having so many dragons all fighting for the Targaryans as a single united family.

Everyone forgets Baela and Rhaena are true velaryons and if they married Jace and Luke the bloodline would be kept alive.
Also imagine if Rhaenyra would have chosen Harwin Strong to be her suitor when she went around the 7 kingdoms looking for a husband instead of banging her uncle and getting caught.
Those boys wouldn’t be bastards and everything would be in his place cause Otto Hightower would never be hand of the king again.
@@shannonm2005 I totally agree with you about the Velaryon bloodline being kept by by Baela and Rhaena marrying Lucerys and Jacerys. But whenever I say that to other fans of the show or books, they tell me how that doesnt count somehow bc only the paternal line counts. 🤷🏾♀️ I dont see why it matters if you inherit bloodline from father or mother. Either way, its still half of your dna.
It was Otto all along, Alicent didn’t had that until Otto pointed out that rhaenyra would have to put her children to the sword, that she would have no choice if she wanted to rule Westeros.
And that’s the tragedy of it. The greatest house in asoiaf history could only be brought down by itself💔

Rhaenyra's son with Daemon. He watched his mother burn and then he was made king and engaged to Helaena's daughter, Jaehaera. Alicent tells Jaehaera who is also a traumatized child at this point to slit her husband's throat. Even after Alicent lost her children and she lost her position she still couldn't let go of her hate for Rhaenyra and she wanted to make her little granddaughter a murderer and use this broken child to strike down another broken and traumatized child. I hate the greens.

He didn't kill her children. He reclaimed King's Landing and ruled there. Months later Aegon II died. Aegon III and Viserys II were the closest male relatives he had left so he had to make Aegon his heir and that's how he became king. Viserys served as his hand of the king.
