The last one touched me as my brother suffers with MS. He would laugh out loud at someone telling him he’s ‘a mess’. Your customer’s reaction was dead on with our family! Concerned for their family member, but not willing to harangue an individual over an honest mistake. And I bet if she told grandpa, he’d get a chuckle as well!

geniune question, what is so wrong about calling someone a mess? doesn't it just mean the person can't get their shits tgt? isn't it fine to ask for an early check in or wtv because someone's a mess? yk, so that they can have a room to calm down in and all?

I flew cross country (Cali to upstate NY) on a red-eye for a wedding at the hotel I was staying at.
Got to the hotel WAY before checkin. Went to the desk clerk “I know I am WAY early & if my room isn’t ready, I totally understand. But, I have nowhere else to go, so, if my room isn’t ready, I’m gonna go hang out in that corner. Unfortunately, I haven’t showered since yesterday morning, so I apologize if I stink up the lobby”

In the autumn of 2005, Hurricane Wilma seriously damaged one of our tropical resorts, closing it permanently. Our Elite guest called, demanding that I "personally" find a comparable resort "somewhere in the tropics" for his family's Christmas holiday. I apologized, explaining that our hurricane policy offered a full refund of the loyalty points, but that our remaining vacancies were at more luxurious resorts, at a higher redemption rate. "Oh no." he yelled. "This is your fault and you're gonna make it right!" We did make it right. We refunded his points in full.

As part of Loss Prevention training new people were required to go to room 1327. We had no 13th floor, and room 27 on a floor would be the elevator lobby. So to train then to know the layout of the hotel. We hoped they’d realize quickly, but if it took more than a few minutes, they rarely lasted a week.

Oh my god the one with the bar! I work at a café/bar that's connected to a hotel. For some reason, people come to me as if I'm the receptionist. It literally says BAR at the door, we don't even have the same entrance as the hotel part of the building but for some reason people seem to think it's the front desk. I once even had a person come in from the front desk, where they've been told the hotel is fully booked and asked me to do something about it or let them stay here because "you're part of the hotel, right? So you should have rooms". I swear, some people..

I got him checked in, and gave him his keys. (It was back when we still used actual keys). He was already feeling no pain, but went over to the Greyhound Racing Track and had a few more drinks. Next morning my GM called me. The man was so drunk that he didnt realize until he woke up the next morning that I had accidentally given him the keys to the supply closet. The GM was laughing so hard she could bearly talk.

I would volunteer for jobs (i work as a cashier in retail) but not to go home early unless a) i wasnt feeling well; b) my spouse/pets werent feeling well (yes, my hubby is on the same level as my kitties); c) there was worrisome driving conditions (icy roads, road closures, etc) that would otherwise prevent my safe travel getting home. I spent several years working in rental cars. Everything you've skitted is rehashing my nightmares. Remember, rental car counter agents are the first hospitality employees that deal with the customers after the airlines have pissed them off. The rental car counter agents do their best to ease the customers, and they even get to go for a drive to hopefully calm them down before they get to the hotel. Imagine your worst customer experiences and multiply it by some imaginable number, then multiply it by 10. That's how bad it is, usually because airports do arrivals and departures in clusters. For several hours it's nothing but pissy customers. For another several hours it's dead enough where they get to kick their wounds, refill the parking lots with cars, and prepare to do it all over again.

Wow, I just do not believe that such people can exist! Is it real stories? I am so shocked. I assume working with people is hard but that?! Just shocking....

Even if it is only 10% of interactions, that would be way too many in each shift.

As someone who works as a cleaner, the rushing made me so incredibly upset. I swear we're working as fast as we can while simultaneously not destroying our bodies.

I worked in a hotel that had a deal with a lical amusement park. When they made their reservations, We would tell them over and over, they could not check in tobthe hotel before they headed outctobthe park forcthe day. But sure enough, 9 ton10 a.m we would getca bigcrush of familiesxthat wanted to feop off their luggage then head to the park all day. We understood....the park was 1/2 hour away. But there is nothing you can do about it when you were full the night before.

I wonder if the hotel could have had a luggage room and charged $5/suitcase to keep the bags until check in.

I WISH managers at hotels would take the employees' side, instead of accommodating every stupid demand. I had situations as a Chef de Partie, where suddenly random people become VIPs and need every wish fulfilled

    I didn't understand 1:52
    She said 3567 right ?
If the room numbers only go up to 65 then there should be 3567
Or did she mean there are only 65 rooms ?
    Plz someone explain 😊

Se refería a las habitaciones, no al piso. En este caso sólo hay hasta 65 habitaciones por piso, entonces la última del piso 35 es la habitación 65, no hay habitación 67.
