Kev Just suggested this band in the ST365 Discord a week or 2 ago, imagine my pleasant surprise seeing you pick this up for review. But i can totally see why haha.
Vice versa with Kevin. He always sings clean harmonies in the background. He is as talented in singing as Nico. But as they stated in an interview: Nico is better in singing, Kevin is better in growling and screaming. And I think everybody is happy with it 😄
Their older songs were interesting because they had two good screamers (Kevin and Sushi/Ghostkid), so the heavy parts were extremely heavy and chaotic.
I sometimes watch Electric Callboy reactions if I need a pick me up, and as a long-time viewer of your channel, I was SO excited to see you finally react to them.
Believe me if you react or even just listen in private to more of their musicvideos, you will be surprised. Besides the talent that this band obviously has, it is just so fun listening to them. I've even seen them live this year and it was one of the best and most fun concerts i have been to.
My favorite thing is new people discovering Electric Callboy. I discovered them During Early Pandemic in 2020 and been in love with them ever since. I recommend them to everyone, love love LOVE these guys
What a band!!! Supremely talented, always interesting and fun, they exude kindness and elevate all of the people and bands they collaborate with. My life is infinitely better for discovering them.
The perfect storm of song structure, vocal flexibility and videography. I don't think whoever shot this video for them gets enough love as it absolutely enhances the song.
What I love most about EC is that they don't take themselves too serious, but they take their music serious and want to deliver. This band has brought me an incredible amount of joy and fun, especially during the pandemic. Already been to 4 or 5 concerts and more will follow next year. The boys are just amazing. Also it's always very entertaining when people argue about in which genres EC can be put in, when the Band gives an absolute shit about genres. They never have and they never will. Love that. They just do what they love.
they also are amazing live and being in their audience that feeling is no feeling like I have ever experienced in all the years of attending gigs they are just amazing and seeing them last month it was a dream come true I am glad they are getting the recognition they deserve
Ive never seen someone with that high knowledge about vocals. Like not even comparably as good as Chris. And the way he is able to replicate EVERY vocal sound immediately makes it seem like magic to me

I’ve actually done this song at karaoke at my local bar many times and it never disappoints. I was, however, in a band for over 25 years before I decided to do this. It’s not easy to do what he’s doing.

Of course those are a guaranteed positive reaction but doing something like this randomly would be freakin epic lol. I can picture the looks of concern morphing into smiles by the time the hook hits ...sounds fun
Welcome to the EC family. In case anyone hasn't told you yet, Electric Callboy have been around for a while now under their old name Eskimo Callboy, and a different "clean" singer (who is now the lead singer of GH0STKID). A couple of years ago, they shook out into their new lineup and subsequently changed their name. Nico is the shorter vocalist, who does most of the 'cleans' and background 'dirties'. Keven is the (very) tall other singer who does the lead dirties and background cleans. Almost everyone else's name starts with a D: Daniel Haniß on lead guitar, Daniel Klossek on bass and backing vocals, David-Karl Friedrich on drums and D... sorry, Pascal Schillo on rhythm guitar and backing vocals. They're from Germany, and recently completed their first US tour. And they are freaking amazing.
The thing is with Electric Callboy is they have not yet missed with any of their songs. All of their songs are amazing and they have some of the most brutal breakdowns that rival anything in deathcore. They are a rabbit hole so worth going down with. Their song spaceman is amazing because it doesn't just incorporate pop, EDM and harsh vocals, they also bring in a German rapper and blend all the styles seamlessly and it is still fun and hilarious.
Every time I watch an EC video/song, it always puts a smile on my face and makes me feel happy. These guys are like sunshine in a teacup and I'm 100% here for it
Great vocal analysis. I'm still enjoying EC like I've not enjoyed a band in a long while. Last night, at 1am, I was clapping my hands, alone in front of my laptop, on the first tunes of We got the moves, and now I'm smiling like an idiot. I love them. I got hooked by RATATATA, but We got the moves is a hell of masterpiece with a fantastic video.

And the camera/editing is just clean and visually pleasant (I guess having a nice studio helps too eh :D). Thanks for an awesomely nice video!
Ok, I absolutely had to sub. You're in depth look into their voices had me absolutely awestruck. I've probably watched no less than30 of these reaction videos (I REALLY like this song, lol, and I like to sing), and you not only nailed down how they did things so well, but helped enhance my own understanding of my own vocals from your detailed descriptions as well, to make me sound even better (I'm still a major work in progress). Thank you so much for such an amazing break down!
Definitely worth seeing these guys live! Seen them 4-5 times over the last year and a half and my god they dont disappoint! If anyone ever sees EC, they're in for a great time
I dont know if you like to react to German Songs but as a Vocal Coach i think you would enjoy reacting and "dissecting" We Butter the Bread with Butter.. something like their newer songs "20 KM/H" or their cover of Electric Callboys "Hypa Hypa" (that is mostly english) hehe
Fascinating, what you can all extract from one song. From now on I will here this song always with your background informations. Damn, this was so a good song. Now it's a education piece.
I love that I found your analysis of this song today. A friend of mine introduced me to this song a few months ago and the first time I heard it I wasn't sure I was going to like it once they did the first "throat singing" transition, but then all this crazy stuff was happening I couldn't put a finger on and I ended up loving it. Thank you for putting terms to things and giving examples. It's a cool song.

Well i guessed correctly that it was just a matter of time for you to fall into the rabbit hole that is Electric Callboy. I think fun is really the best thing to describe the band overall. They are fun to listen to, the music videos are always engaging and entertaining and they are more than decent human beings as well. If you fall into any copyright trouble you can just just write them/their agency and they will do their best to sort it out. Glad you enjoyed them!
The first time I saw Nico audition video singing Prism, instantly thought Linkin Park. When Tekkno was released and heard Neon, I was completely blown away! Nico channeling his inner Chester Bennington 🤘
I like em so much because it just seems like theyre having so much fun with it instead of being so god damn serious like their music and lyrics are gonna change the world somehow like most metal bands.
If you listen to this song live, you can hear Nico doing back up screams to Kevin. His vocal range is insane. And when you compare it to when Ghostkid was in the band, who Nico replaced. Nico took them to the next level in my opinion. Edit, I meant to say listen to this song live.
I've watched a lot of reactions where people fan over Nicos clean vocals and kind of gloss over how they're both super talented, so it's great hearing someone going really into depth on how varied Kevins screams are. I'm normally not that into screaming style vocals (I'm hard of hearing so it can kind of blend together into just "sound" instead of words) but the way Kevin does it? I can hear almost all the lyrics the first time. And now I understand that it’s mainly because his voice is still in the screams.
found this band a little while ago and fell in love instantly. if there is anyone i would love to react to the live version of this its you. maybe one of the best live sounding bands i have heard in ages when it comes to sounding like the recorded track.

It's just ONE of their best songs. Now Hurrikan... No research lmao. GO IN BLIND 😂😂 Kev does like a.. Almost whistle scream at the end and I was LIVING for it!
@Chris: Yes EC is so much fun. Will see them live next year 😂. One thing you really really must react to as a vocal coach is to the best female vocalist of our time. The goddess and valkyrie of Metal - Floor Jansen from Nightwish. It will blow your mind completly. So I recommend Nightwish "Ghost Love Score" live from Wacken 2013. And if you don't believe me - ask Elisabeth > She loves Floor!!! 🤩🤩🤩
Actually, they have two vocalists. One doing the higher pitched, cleaner parts - the other one the more harsh parts. I guess that explains the diversity and the variety of sounds a bit.
@@chrisliepe Last year when Kevin (harsh) was sick, Nico (clean) carried whole show brilliantly so hes full capable to make all those wild screams too.
Both Vocalists are perfectly capable of Clean and Harsh vocals. That is what makes them so flexible especially live (even though Nico is usually on the Clean parts and Kevin does the Harsh stuff in the Studio :P ). I hope Chris does look at some of their live performances hehe
You picking Jamiroquai out of that is like a connoisseur picking out the faintest little tasting note in a wine or something. And I totally hear it after you said it!
Welcome to the rabbithole called Electric Callboy, take someting to drink and enjoy your time :D I just love to see a reaction from someone nevere heard of them before. Just awesome. Greetings from Germany

Dear Chris, I am following your channel for a while now and I am very thankful for all your analyses it's so fun to watch, also I learned a lot from you. As a german singer I was very happy to see you reacting to Electric Callboy :) I suggest two more Bands with singers to have a look on: 1. Axel Rudi Pell (German Metalband with an absolute underrated and powerfull Vocalist). And 2. POWERWOLF also a Metal Band from Germany - they got quite huge over the past couple of years - what this man does... also live.. just without words it's absolutly sick. Would be so awesome to see you reacting to these ones. Have a great day and keep on doin what you're doin.
@@kaeseblock1362lmao the lyrics 😂😂 someone wrote them in English and it made it that much better 😂😂. I told him to react to the video and that he wasn't ready for that 2 mins of his life😂😂
It's funny like when I aways watch Chris's video about screaming techniques on speakers I have this wierd feeling that my neighbours think I'm crazy P.s: I live in japan.
Electric Callboy might be the most fun band I've ever listened to. They have some less comedic songs on their Tekkno album that are amazing as well. I'd suggest giving "Neon" a listen.
Im so glad they got you onto these guys. They really are great and probably better live. I really think you should do Hypa Hypa next its got a great vocal for you to analyse
I love EC and reactions to their songs! If you want to hear their clear voices (and a more serious song from them), listen to the acoustic version of "Prism". One of my favourites!
I think my favorite part of this video is your knowledge of different artist and being able to connect what you hear from one to another. For instance the Jamiroquai reference or even the Corey Taylor one. I do this often myself with vocalist and bands and always get confused looks because they could be from two completely different genres and/or time periods. Maybe we are just built different or perhaps it’s our love and passion for music that allows us to make those types of connections.
Get the foundation you need pull this stuff off with your voice!! chrisliepe.com/free-your-voice/

As much as the EC songs/videos themselves are fun to much, your in depth and enthusiastic reactions (Hypa Hypa) are truly insightful and entertaining!
You picking Jamiroquai out of that is like a connoisseur picking out the faintest little tasting note in a wine or something. And I totally hear it after you said it!
what a cool reaction and what a great analysis
I’ve never heard someone break down a voice so easily and simply that I actually understand
Welcome to the rabbithole called Electric Callboy, take someting to drink and enjoy your time :D
I just love to see a reaction from someone nevere heard of them before. Just awesome. Greetings from Germany
I had so much fun watching you react and analyze. You're super entertaining and I learn something. Thank you.
Greetings from Germany
There entire discography is like this. I knew about them but never saw what the big deal was till I heard them and have been in love ever since and wish I could of saw them on tour
Great reaction. Kevin screams are absolut my favorite screams 🤩 all what you said about it, is whats so great and special about it
Love your analysis. You are keen on vocals.
Go down the Electric Call boy road!!! I need you to react to more!
More coming!!! :)
you must do more! Pump it. also i would absolutely love it if you broke down the vocals in Hurrikan.
Oh boy, Hurrikan is definitely a short but interesting ride - especially if you are German which also makes the short intro text so much better 😂
@@kaeseblock1362lmao the lyrics 😂😂 someone wrote them in English and it made it that much better 😂😂. I told him to react to the video and that he wasn't ready for that 2 mins of his life😂😂
It's funny like when I aways watch Chris's video about screaming techniques on speakers I have this wierd feeling that my neighbours think I'm crazy
P.s: I live in japan.
Electric Callboy might be the most fun band I've ever listened to.
They have some less comedic songs on their Tekkno album that are amazing as well. I'd suggest giving "Neon" a listen.
I also love THE SCENE with their old singer.
MINDREADER is my absolute FAVORITE
It's nice to see reaction videos that are actually a reaction and breakdown, vs "Reaction to such n such! (chuckle chuckle guffaw) Well that was cool"
Glad you enjoyed!
I love this band.
Welcome to the Electric Callboy genre! You need to listen to "Everytime we touch" Cascada-cover. Greeting from Germany
Im so glad they got you onto these guys. They really are great and probably better live. I really think you should do Hypa Hypa next its got a great vocal for you to analyse
You really need to see hurricane from electric callboy if you are so amazed in the voice!!!
Very interessting👍! Thank you so much for analysing this music. That helps me to understand the Vocals 🤩. Greetings from Essen/Germany
I've noticed that the shape of Nico's glass is... "suggestive" at the beginning of the video. 😄
They tore the Roof off last night at Rock Circus
i ve just found them a few day ago and HOLY SHIIIIIII PARTY TIME!!!!!
I love EC and reactions to their songs! If you want to hear their clear voices (and a more serious song from them), listen to the acoustic version of "Prism". One of my favourites!
Just found your channel, you are a great vocalist and vocal analyzer
I love the look of initially being very uncomfortable but somehow absolutely loving what is happening XD
Oh you have just opened a wonderful can of worms. There is much fun to be had with Electric Callboy 🤘😁🤘
