- EVERYONE HAD MIXXED FEELINGS TONIGHT.
Today was the last show on the Sun Princess for this special show. It was the headline show on the Sun Princess and this cast brought it to life over nearly a year. You could saee the mixxed feelings on their faces as they realized what they've done and how it's come to an end.

This has to be bitter sweet for the cast. All the rehearsing for such a short run
I used to work backstage in musical theatre, and this is exactly how the cast and crew feel when a particularly special show ends. I remember when we did Jesus Christ Superstar (a particularly technical show, for which a very special stage addition was constructed). The last night, everyone gave it more than their all... and backstage, after the show, one of the younger dancers collapsed in tears because it was all over. Those were five very special months we all had with that show.

Me too. Not a fan of Princess. 91 cruises for me. Royal has by far the best shows!!
That’s sad for the cast of the show they put so much work into the show, and got so close to each other in the process

I doubt many people go on a cruise just to see a show.
Just because you aren't interested in the theater, doesn't mean others aren't as well. I know people who sail specific ships exclusively for a water slide, that's not something I'd personally do, but for them it's their reason.

Agree! Personally, I'm not a fan of any production shows on ships. Rarely, very, very rarely do I go to them on a ship. I'll go see the comedian, etc, but not these. Happy they have them for the folks who enjoy them, though .

Too bad about the limited run of the show. Hope the hard work of the cast and crew are appreciated and they get picked up for other gigs for Princess. It's a bit of a shame when I see in the comments people saying Princess shows aren't the best, that when they try to come up with something new and innovative like this it gets cut short -- how can they improve their shows when they cancel the ones that are doing more?

I hate it when they this kind of stuff. I love my shows and it is sad when they mess with them especially when you are excited to see them.
My wife picks cruise ships to go on based on what production shows are on the ship will go see it 2-3 times on large Royal Caribbean ships.

The Sun princess entertainment venues are quite small. Like the 990 seat Arena Theatre given there are ~5000 passengers. Is is right for Don to go twice and have people turned away and not be able to see the show? They really need a ticketing system given the scarcity of seats.

I was at the matinee show. There were some empty seats. Noone was turned away.

That's a shame for the cast and the passengers. I don't understand if they've finally got it all working why they are stopping it.
That's a shame!!! We saw that show when we were on the Sun Princess. It was our FAVORITE show of all the Princess shows, and we've sailed over 20 cruises.

Saw the final show yesterday. One the best shows we’ve ever seen on Princess. Sorry it is ending. They said the singers and dancers have been together for one year.
We will be on this boat on October 19th for a 7-day. Disappointed this show won't be available...sounded like it was good!
Just the costumes & make-up would create anticipation. That’s too bad. I can’t imagine how they feel.
Sounds like Princess tried out a few things on Sun that maybe haven’t worked out and are now changing things . They are changing restaurants around , now maybe updating shows . Strange I never go on a cruise ship based on entertainment, usually it’s the itinerary that I go on .
I sure hope Princess has a huge checklist of Sun problems that need to be fixed before Star sails. This is sad. I love Princess, but this makes me nervous about the future.

Don I have to say I was disappointed when you were talking about the Valera show. Just yesterday you were saying there was a shortage of seats available for all the passengers to see these great new shows. Now today you said this was the second time this cruise that you saw this show. Why don’t you think of others who have not seen the show once when you take a limited seat for a second time. Seams contradictory to me.
I always get there early. Not been on the Sun, but it sounds like a problem with passengers upset on the lack of space.
Princess has had so many issues with the Sun! I hope they work out all those bugs by the group cruise in December

It's a shame the show is being moved. But maybe the new show will be a Hit. It's cool you got to see it before it went away. Maybe that new 2.0 show will be better. Hopefully they keep the cast together.

Hey don saw someone else that is on your cruise saying the premier Package has dining restrictions on what you can get and up charges in the restaurants let us know what you experienced
We saw that show four months ago during the early June sailing. What type of contracts do these entertainers have?
Changes are always ongoing, especially entertainment. Onward and upward to the next new show.

As disappointing as it is that I will not see the show when I sail on Sun in October, I’m sure the cast members need time to be with their families as well.
With the size restrictions in the theater what are the chances a “group cruise “ could get in there? I think you avoided huge disappointment event
Production costs are probably too high
Love great shows but would not book a cruise for a show. Cheaper to fly to NY and see a Broadway musical
The Pirate Quest was good show with many good 1980s hits but lack the production value of Royal Caribbean broadways show, it was entertaining and always crowded during my May Sun Princess cruise😊

The small venues are definitely a problem
Entertainment on cruise ships has gone so far downhill that the only show we are interested in anymore is the ice shows on RCL. It’s SO frustrating to try to get a reservation, the sound is awful, the passengers are rude and it’s getting worse. I’m SO tired of parents bringing babies and toddlers to late shows. It’s ridiculous. Sorry for my rant but it’s how I feel anymore.
I have to agree with you. In the distant past, I remember headliner shows like BJ Thomas or comedians like Norm Crosby. Not anymore.

Maybe it was expensive to do so Princess decided to scrap it.
So many things about this ship seem not well thought out during planning. I guess it was too hard to train a new set of performers to take over this show.

My wife and I were on the Sun Princess in the Mediterranean in April. We saw the show, but we thought it was pretty childish. Lots of energy and volume… yes… but the story line was such a cliche. This was the marquee entertainment production for the Sun Princess and we were unimpressed. How can Royal Caribbean and NCL provide true Broadway shows while Princess tries to create its own “in-house” version of entertainment? The ship was fine and the excursions were great but the entertainment was uninspiring.

Sorry, but considering the state of the world, this is truly not that important. Yes, it is a disappointment, but being able to go on a cruise is still a bonus in life.

I don’t enjoy a show that you have to stress getting good seats! Sounds like Celebrity, Edge Class- 2 small Venus ( Eden & The Club) great shows, very limited seats, especially bad viewing seats!! The theater is much better, but their shows there are so scripted- different themes, same , same acrobatic acts. The other shows are better, but have to get there too early!! Vacation???
Wonder why they pulled the show on the Sun?? Wonder what they are replacing it with? So costly to change out a show- Royal has to dry dock, prior to a production show change. Mama Mia, most likely will leave in the spring, when Allure goes into dry dock- of all the shows, this is my favorite!!
The Sun is going through too many changes - prices will escalate to have us pay for hanged! Waste of money!!
Not really a big deal to a lot of people. It's too bad for the performers though.
Princess needs to retire the horrid Rock Opera. It’s been playing since 2019 and has been on every Princess ship we have been on. It’s like glee on steroids with all performers screaming at you at the top of their lungs. We ❤️ princess but their entertainment is lacking. I would have liked to see something different. Shame. Prices still going up and value going down.
