- This is the 3rd part of the rear subframe replacement video series on my 2015 Porsche Macan. Join me, as I continue my adventures with this project.
In this video, I reassemble all the components into the subframe... and find some unexpected surprises...

2:14 At first I was like, "This poor man is pouring his blood, sweat, and tears into this!!!" Then I saw you dipping into the lubrication cylinder, to lube up the 034 MS subframe mounts.. "Ahh.. It's not blood on the paper/diagram then." LOL!!! Good stuff, my friend. 👍 Your Engineering skills/thought process, paired with your will to complete this task, has helped you adapt. Congratulations!!! Looking forward to the next episode.
Haha! You know, when I saw that part of the video as I was reviewing it before publishing, I thought the same thing… that looks like blood. It is actually Redline CV-2 grease. Hey, thanks for your comments and for watching!! Last episode on the subframe coming soon!
@@porscheDIY Good to know. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Sir.
I saw you on FB! I'm subscribing!
Thanks for your support! It means a lot.
Really interesting. Many thanks again.
Q: did you encounter any damaged threads in the alloy hub?
No. Threads in hubs were all fine. Thanks for watching!
Do you think it is possible to only disconnect the points that are only connected to the subframe and leave all of the other components (like the knuckle) attached.
If I understand your question correctly, what you are asking is disconnecting control arms only and take the control arms together with the knuckle out? Yes, is possible. I thought the arms were going to be heavy, but they are really not… the knuckle is the heaviest part. But in my case, I wanted to replace all bushings so I was going to take them apart anyway. But to answer your question, yes, it is completely possible. You could theoretically remove all control arms and differential and take everything out as a unit. But that would be very heavy. I would not recommend that unless you have means to carry that load some other way.
