@@robertbain6494 no good news I afraid. only way to replace the white cable is to install new transmission. I opted for a patch. Glued and taped up the cable, replaced the sleeve. It’s held so far but probably a matter of time before it fails.
Hi - in my Pajero's case, the broken bits are stuck deep inside the cavity of the gear knob. Very tough to get it out. How to open the gear knob? Only then can i put the new sleeve on the white rod below and then lower the gear knob onto it.

Mine is going on but it's hard and the car is not changing gears if i want to drive fast.only if i press it slowly it's when it change from gear one to five.what it the problem my be?
You need to remove the center console put lube on the part where the gear engage its a hard plastic white colored one. Just rub some grease in their shifting gears will be smooth again
