I recently picked up this game complete (I'm surprised it's worth a lot). I also have the "sister" game, Famicom Shougi: Ryuuousen (which I thought you did a review on, but I couldn't find it). I'm surprised you didn't mention Home Data also making Hayauchi Super Igo! I had no idea the AI was that bad, but might be good for a beginner like me when it comes to difficulty and a 19x19 board. Maybe the dumb AI is the reason Home Data no Igo (PC Engine) never got released? Also, I think this game was licensed by the Japan Go Association, though I can't remember correctly. Thanks for the video! I've been looking forward to this one!
I wasn't able to find the specs for this game, but it can't be much since the AI just isn't there and even with a battery it is still on the affordable end. The nicest thing I can say about it is the animation on the pieces coming down looks very smooth.
I definitely don't know much beyond the first thing about Go as a boardgame, but I can appreciate if it's trying to teach folks how to play. too bad it seems the AI is terrible sounds like the game really IS for beginners, haha.
