She’s an unbelievable vocalist and while I haven’t checked out her work with her band yet, I’ve been listening to some of her solo stuff and I’m thoroughly blown away. “Bad” and “Canada” are both suuuper catchy and just incredible vibes (for those who don’t know, they’re also the pre-release tracks for her album just like “More” and “Arson” were for JITB!) and I’m SOOO happy that we got this collaboration. :’)

After I heard this song for the first time, I looked her and the group up. Their sound is great. The pairing of her and RM is far out in the best way...very complimentary. The visuals are refreshing bc it's like a strange fever dream. It reminds me of that 70's blown out amp type rock with a little R&B mixed in.
Namjoon really has such a presence. Her vocals are amazing. Honestly, Namjoon when he collabs with female artists just shines. He has such a gorgeous deep tone which is a perfect enhancement. No matter if it is rap or singing. The harmonies were just perfect.

Honestly, on my first listen, I was taken aback. I got the feeling I felt way back when I first listened to Sexy Nukim. It was a new sound to me and almost threw me off, but when I listened to it for the second, third and so forth time, I fell in love with it 💜 It was truly a beautiful tune. I can't stop listening to it.
YES! Me too! The collabs for Sexy Nukim and Smoke Sprite just blew my mind wide open (as expected of our president of Boraland). The more I listened to it, I just kept falling deeper and deeper in love with both songs. I have them both on repeat CONSTANTLY. 💜
RM has a way of presenting artists unknown outside of Korea to the world for our enjoyment. He always seems to “step aside” so those he collabs with shine and gain new followers. RM/BTS have always wanted to share the spotlight so others can succeed. This is one of the reasons why I will always stick by BTS as a group and individuals. They are the least selfish I know. I could go on but I think you know what I means-humble and kind human beings. We need more true human beings in this world!

This was an amazing surprise , I had never heard of her before and oh my gosh was this song just enthralling. I was super intrigued by the title as well, as a hobbiest writer, the combo of Smoke Sprite was just really interesting and then listening to the actual song.... damn i was at a bit of loss for words honestly. Plus, you've got this long, dark block leading you through what looks like a tunnel, until everything turns upright and you find So!YoON! sitting on top looking totally satisfied and content. In other words, once she and RM stop *telling* us what they're doing, the video *shows* us what they're doing in a very Freudian way. 😈

I saw online that Jimin was at a live show where her and RM performed this on stage. Jimin left from there to the airport to go to New York to the Jimmy Fallon show. Don't get me wrong I'm so used to RM rapping. I love the song because it shows more of his vocal talent. This video was so artistic. Which if you know RM is into art so it makes sense.

Soyoon has such an androgynous presence and I’m here for it. This was the first time hearing her music and I listened to the album. It’s actually not bad. Reminds me of Portishead, who I love. Same vibe.
A little more info about Hwang So Yoon and her band. She started out Se So Neon back in 2017, I found about her band thanks to Namjoon's recommendation in a livestream he did, talking about the song "The Wave" by Se So Neon. She plays the leading guitar, one bassist and one drummer, a group of three. Their first Ep (a really really good one), with songs like "a loneliness that has just risen", "new youth", "long dream". One characteristic about their MVs and songs, when it comes to composing, So Yoon comes up with the visuals and melodies at the same time. That's why if you check out their other MVs you'll find out that they are very much related to each song. She also has another solo album which she released back in 2019 auto-titled So!YoOn! an amalgamation of songs and collaborations with different kind of artists rap r&b soul you name it. Title track Holiday (I really recommend this one too) Later on as Se so neon they released the EP non-adaptation, talking about changes and the unsettling feeling of not being able to find a place where you fit in. Songs like "Go back", "Midnight train", "winter" delve into those subjects as well. They have other singles they have released too, "Nanchun" during the pandemic, "Jayu" which means freedom, "Joker" and well now with So Yoon's new project Episode1: love There are many people that didn't understand much about the nuance of this song in particular, there's much more to see than just the lyrics for itself, but I leave it up to your interpretation. One hint though, it is kind of referencing the movie from Michel Ocelot "princes and princesses" a shadow theatre kind of animation were both the protagonists, a girl and guy create six different plays, six different stories and it's really interesting, if you want to check it out. So Yoon herself talked about how this project serves to explore and expand when it comes to creativity in different aspects. The whole album shows different sides of her, mainly focused on spectrum, exploration through the theme of love and desire, and space. Also So Yoon said she has a lot of imagination and often feels a sense of déjà vu while standing on the border between dream, fantasy, and reality and she tried to express that in this. My favourite song on the album is "Till the sun goes up" . I love how RM is choosing his collaborations so carefully and in so many different genres. It's just a testament to how much of an amazing artist he is. Definitely consider checking out some of her band SE SO NEON's music if you like her sound. Their music is really good.

The song gave me Prince vibes and Luna Sea (a japanese band I love) so even if they didn't sing on it, I'd be very much pleased. Her voice haunts me. She's perfect (I know you only react to BTS, but you can check out her work on your own, or collabs). The interpretation of the song is still a bit up in smoke ;) She mentioned in an interview that "smoke sprite" is like in cartoon when someone disappears in a poof, so seems to me she's hurt but also wants to try to love (maybe herself, as she points and shoots herself with an arrow), whereas Joon says to take the plunge first even if it's not love, and no arrow is hitting him. So!YoON! is a member of the band SE SO NEON. her latest album Episode1: Love expresses various desires as well as love stories that Soyoon herself has written with the intention of “finding herself.” She said that although the album wasn’t supposed to be about love at first, she discovered new parts of herself through the themes of love and desire. In a recent live Namjoon mentioned that Soyoon came to visit his studio before Indigo was released and added the part “look at my stain” in Still Life. They’ve been good friends for a while now but that small snippet of Still Life later developed into a full collaboration ☺️ I’m so happy that Namjoon collaborated with fellow indie artists like So!YoON! and Balming Tiger that are also a part of the LGBT community 🫶 Soyoon was also at Hoseok’s Jack in the Box release party back in July!

That's so funny that you mentioned getting Prince vibes because I definitely think she's inspired by him . At Hobi's listening party she wore a Prince shirt and that little symbol at the end also reminded me so much of Prince 😅
When I heard this, I went down the rabbit hole, and found how amazing So!YoOn! is. Shes so talented and very intelligent. The making of the video was a give away to me for sure. He was being so careful and stoic around her on camera in the making of the video, it’s cute. Yet they wrote such a beautiful song together. I believe this song is their story. They have known each other for a long time. And for me she is the female version of him. The fact that that they wrote this together and that he entered her home one day and dropped to his knees singing that first line, to illustrate his thoughts on the first line of the song was a huge tell. I see her running in the snow sunburned is to show how quickly probably RM had to leave her in Summer in some part of the world and she returned to winter. Even the seen of the car wreck is telling. That looks like L.A. and I’m sure that road is meaningful. When she sings “I don’t want to come back” a Comeback is what K-pop calls back to the stage for a new single/album. Hearing it that way is a tell too. It must hurt when they have to part. Then she tells how she copes and rebels sometimes. Who wouldn’t get frustrated? 😊 He never commits to her and says she shouldn’t commit to him. Because of the separation, the huge success of BTS and then entering the military. He wouldn’t ask her to wait. I’m sure she learned to focus on her career and herself. I think she must have hit low points (the pool) and all those around her who cared for her she couldn’t tell. Maybe she shut them all out while she grieved his departure. Maybe 1 friend knew, who looks quickly when the scene moves to RM. And then instantly his words, dang if that wasnt their reunions, but he’s still saying I can’t be yours, as much as he might have wanted to. (Omg that verse 🫠) That guitar piece, she plays that. There’s some videos on yt where she sings this live and she has her guitar. 🤦♀️ The chorus had to be their phone calls After I watched a podcast and inteviews, saw her live, she’s now my girl crush. 💜🔥😊. Then count the tunnels….7 hehe. And she on them going up. Look close. And then on top she’s mature, she made a name for herself in the industry, she’s whole. And the boys announce they are doing their own thing which means more independence and more time together. It’s just military time which doesn’t threaten her Or she’s over him (which I doubt) But she’s got it together by now. There’s parts of that song that gives me chills. I adore Namjoon. I am pretty sure So Yoon recorded a tiny clip for RM's album...during the song Still Life. When he says "Look at my stain", she says that with him? He talked about it in the live he did right after performing/recording the Live at Rolling Hall performance. Start at the 14:10 mark in that live.

RM/BTS have always wanted to share the spotlight so others can succeed. This is one of the reasons why I will always stick by BTS as a group and individuals. They are the least selfish I know. Plus, you've got this long, dark block leading you through what looks like a tunnel, until everything turns upright and you find So!YoON! sitting on top looking totally satisfied and content. I saw online that Jimin was at a live show where her and RM performed this on stage. Jimin left from there to the airport to go to New York to the Jimmy Fallon show. Don't get me wrong I'm so used to RM rapping. I love the song because it shows more of his vocal talent. This video was so artistic. Which if you know RM is into art so it makes sense.

Soyoon has such an androgynous presence and I’m here for it. This was the first time hearing her music and I listened to the album. It’s actually not bad. Reminds me of Portishead, who I love. Same vibe.
A little more info about Hwang So Yoon and her band. She started out Se So Neon back in 2017, I found about her band thanks to Namjoon's recommendation in a livestream he did, talking about the song "The Wave" by Se So Neon. She plays the leading guitar, one bassist and one drummer, a group of three.
Their first Ep (a really really good one), with songs like "a loneliness that has just risen", "new youth", "long dream". One characteristic about their MVs and songs, when it comes to composing, So Yoon comes up with the visuals and melodies at the same time. That's why if you check out their other MVs you'll find out that they are very much related to each song.
She also has another solo album which she released back in 2019 auto-titled So!YoOn! an amalgamation of songs and collaborations with different kind of artists rap r&b soul you name it. Title track Holiday (I really recommend this one too)
Later on as Se so neon they released the EP non-adaptation, talking about changes and the unsettling feeling of not being able to find a place where you fit in. Songs like "Go back", "Midnight train", "winter" delve into those subjects as well.
They have other singles they have released too, "Nanchun" during the pandemic, "Jayu" which means freedom, "Joker" and well now with So Yoon's new project Episode1: love
There are many people that didn't understand much about the nuance of this song in particular, there's much more to see than just the lyrics for itself, but I leave it up to your interpretation. One hint though, it is kind of referencing the movie from Michel Ocelot "princes and princesses" a shadow theatre kind of animation were both the protagonists, a girl and guy create six different plays, six different stories and it's really interesting, if you want to check it out.
So Yoon herself talked about how this project serves to explore and expand when it comes to creativity in different aspects. The whole album shows different sides of her, mainly focused on spectrum, exploration through the theme of love and desire, and space.
Also So Yoon said she has a lot of imagination and often feels a sense of déjà vu while standing on the border between dream, fantasy, and reality and she tried to express that in this. Which is why it's even more appreciated how RM with her co-wroted this song right from the chorus.

This was my first time hearing So!YoON! and I love her voice; it's so cool! I'm really glad that I was able to find her through RM and I will definitely be listening to the rest of the EP.
My favourite song on the album is "Till the sun goes up" . I love how RM is choosing his collaborations so carefully and in so many different genres. It's just a testament to how much of an amazing artist he is. Definitely consider checking out some of her band SE SO NEON's music if you like her sound. Their music is really good.

The song gave me Prince vibes and Luna Sea (a japanese band I love) so even if they didn't sing on it, I'd be very much pleased.
Her voice haunts me. She's perfect (I know you only react to BTS, but you can check out her work on your own, or collabs).
The interpretation of the song is still a bit up in smoke ;)
She mentioned in an interview that "smoke sprite" is like in cartoon when someone disappears in a poof, so seems to me she's hurt but also wants to try to love (maybe herself, as she points and shoots herself with an arrow), whereas Joon says to take the plunge first even if it's not love, and no arrow is hitting him.
But that's how I view it ^^

So!YoON! is a member of the band SE SO NEON. her latest album Episode1: Love expresses various desires as well as love stories that Soyoon herself has written with the intention of “finding herself.” She said that although the album wasn’t supposed to be about love at first, she discovered new parts of herself through the themes of love and desire.
In a recent live Namjoon mentioned that Soyoon came to visit his studio before Indigo was released and added the part “look at my stain” in Still Life. They’ve been good friends for a while now but that small snippet of Still Life later developed into a full collaboration ☺️ I’m so happy that Namjoon collaborated with fellow indie artists like So!YoON! and Balming Tiger that are also a part of the LGBT community 🫶 Soyoon was also at Hoseok’s Jack in the Box release party back in July!

That's so funny that you mentioned getting Prince vibes because I definitely think she's inspired by him . At Hobi's listening party she wore a Prince shirt and that little symbol at the end also reminded me so much of Prince 😅
When I heard this, I went down the rabbit hole, and found how amazing So!YoOn! is. Shes so talented and very intelligent. The making of the video was a give away to me for sure.
He was being so careful and stoic around her on camera in the making of the video, it’s cute. Yet they wrote such a beautiful song together.
I believe this song is their story. They have known each other for a long time. And for me she is the female version of him. The fact that that they wrote this together and that he entered her home one day and dropped to his knees singing that first line, to illustrate his thoughts on the first line of the song was a huge tell.
I see her running in the snow sunburned is to show how quickly probably RM had to leave her in Summer in some part of the world and she returned to winter.

I watched a solo performance by So! Yoon! and that guitar solo at the end is HER. She did that and I am blown away.
I hope if RM was at all worried that somehow we would love him less when he inevitably had to mature and evolve that he knows we are with him and with all the members.
