  • Want to transform your practice sessions so that they are consistent, productive and most importantly, FUN?
I made some “Learning Chunks” on the FiddleHed site to help you do this. These focused exercises contain sheet music, tabs and mp3 snippets to guide you on each step of your fiddle journey.
These and all new lesson pages can be viewed for one week after publication with a FREE trial membership. Check it out here: fiddlehed.com
And after you sign up, I’ll also send you a mini-course of lessons specially designed for your skill level.
Alrighty. Play every day, have fun 😀 and thanks for making music 🙏
    Now, go fiddle with it...

I play a similar version, but yours is cool too. Not sure if you've ever heard of Wilson Douglas but he's one of my favorite Old Time fiddlers. But he plays a version that is very different but pretty cool. Check it out some time.

you have just about the best way of helping us to learn a tune. I have always like Elzic's Farewell for a long time and now I can play it too. thank you. thank you very much. I am a grateful fiddler. I don't want to sound greedy but do you think you'd be able to teach us another old tune called Yellow Barber. I love the way Buddy Thomas played it but could never seem to be able to catch it. thank you again.

your lessons are very helpfull for me. thank you for all of them and i want to ask if you record a vibrato lesson? your vibratos are different from classical music education.
    love and peace.

Ebro, this is the Fiddlehead vibrato video. There are different ways to do vibrato. Glad you found the channel.

Hi, Angelo...glad to see you are still playing. Of course, it will go on the list. Great tune. The list, as you know, is very, very long but it is there!

Absolutely LOVE this tune! I got it down to play with this video in a couple of hours. Is there a practice track for it? I'm having trouble getting it up to speed.

I have a request. Do you know "Great High Mountain" the version in Jack White did for the " Cold Mountain" sound track? I believe Stuart Duncan did the fiddle playing on that track. Great lessons I listen everyday. I just started the fiddle but I been playing the Mandolin for 30 plus years.

I have an extremely long request list. I'll put this on it. Cheers.

Perfectly good tune, but certainly does not have anything to do with Harvey Elswick's tune he played for his mother in Malden WVa in 1890s. Sorry. Just give it another name and you can be trucking right on down the line.
