this is such a powerful teaching. I am so glad that it has been released into the Christian community. I am simply too blessed to be cursed. We must rest in the promises of God and enjoy the blessings in Jesus purchase with his own blood.

This is a great teaching!!!!
At first I had a hard time with this, but then I realized that Barry was focused on people who choose to believe they have no choice in whatever they believe they are cursed with. Barry did a fantastic job in setting the record straight about who we are in Christ.
I realized that those of us who believe exactly what Barry clarified here, do not believe that we are cursed in the way Barry is focused on it in this teaching. I have heard the word curse used when a person realizes that there is an area in their thinking that is a cyclical problem, then God reveals to them that it’s a generational thing. Does this mean they are cursed. Well as Barry said, they can choose that and be stuck there, or they can choose freedom from it and it becomes a matter of accepting our redemption and accepting the freedom from it, and walking in that freedom. We are not cursed! Praise God! We are healed, redeemed and saved. Let use claim it and receive it as we renew our minds. All praise and glory to You God.

YES!!! AMEN!!! This is EXACTLY how I feel about "generational curses." If you say you are under a generational curses - you are saying the blood of Jesus didn't do enough!

This is a Bible study and by no means a full teaching. We are expected to continue study on our own. Barry and other teachers give us the benefit of their time and revelation. Why do people expect otherwise and/or post negative comments.?.

Thank you Barry for saying we do not have to go into the courts of heaven. This is the belief of the New Apostolic Reformation for which I came out of years ago. I would ask that AWM would do a study on the NAR.
Emilia, Curry Blake has taught about this at his church, JGLM. He has also taught at Charis Bible College. He teaches similar to what Barry teaches.
This is so true. AWM has many key people in NAR speaking at their conferences though (Bill Johnson, Randy Clark, etc) It makes it a bit confusing to be teaching against this stuff when they are promoting those ministries.
@Laura-yh8xb Randy Clark's Ministry is called Global Awakening. It has no connection with "NAR." I don't think he teaches about "courts of Heaven." That concept of "Courts" might have come from a man named Robert Henderson. Bill Johnson who founded Bethel Church in Redding, Calif., has never used the words "NAR." He has taught that expression came from the enemies of Bethel who try to disparage Bill Johnson.
We need to take all of these teachings under advisement by the Holy Spirit giving us personal discernment. The healing ministry is constantly developing and growing in maturity and insight. If a specific teacher does not ring true with our Spirit, we can move on. This is the "wheat and tares" concept Jesus taught and the "iron sharpens iron concept." Some people do seek deeper levels of healing support.

What a powerful teaching, Barry. I have been trying to get through to some people in my area regarding the issue of 'curses/cursing'. They always seem adamant about it. I've written down the scriptures you've quoted, so thanks again.

We wrestle not against flesh and blood. When people lie and come against us, what do we do?

I'm pretty sure the Word says not to go into you Ansestory, I have that in my head. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I understand and agree with the teaching on Generational Blessings, however. I totally disagree on your stance of addiction and alcoholism. I am a registered nurse and have worked in the field dealing with this. While I agree that some drug abuse and alcohol abuse is a choice there is also a substance use disorder that affects the brain proven by medical testing, brain, scans, etc. Those who get that do not choose it any more than people have chosen other diseases. I don’t understand why you did not say heart disease, cancer, diabetes etc is a choice because many times they are caused by peoples choices as well. I ask you to please not increase the stigma for those who suffer from one disease over another. Disease is disease and God has healed us but addiction has been studied and proven to alter the brain and be a brain disease (which isn’t to big for God) and wasn’t a choice.
This wasn't one of Barry's best. This subject is challenging to unpack. Yes were new creatures in Christ and our spirit is completely new....a new species of being as it is termed...but then there's our soul. That's not born again. Yes...we renew our mind to who we are in Christ. We labor to enter into this rest and that may involve wounds in our soul that have to be addressed. We are wrestling against rulers of darkness...there are demons. Just to ignore them is not an answer. That's the way Barry came across. Scripture says that we are not unaware of satan's devices. There are evil people who try to curse us....were in a war. As Barry mentioned he had to fight a fight of faith to receive his healing. I agree that the generational curse concept is wrong. But there are many nuances in between that need discussion. The question of a soul tie came up. Barry asked where is that in the bible. That particular description may not be but what about evil communication corrupts good manner. That suggests a tie with who we are around. Anyway....I think this subject needs more discussion than what was presented here.
I don't think that Barry was saying we should ignore demons and darkness, etc. I believe he is saying that when we realise who we are in Christ, then praise is automatic. After all, praise stills the enemy and the avenger (Psalm 8:2)
@@annmckelvie3375 Hmmm....okay but he brushed off people who mentioned a familiar spirit or soul tie. The fact remains that we have a mind which is part of our soul that needs to be renewed. Many have come from a dark world and need deliverance. Just to have a mental assessment that were new creatures is Christ doesn't address this problem. We have to walk that out and many times that involves dealing with familiar spirits and soul ties.
Respect your views but it seems that there is new age stuff coming across, here. It's not easy to renew our minds, but if we are discipled properly, we can learn to take up the shield of faith, etc. To be honest, I cannot relate to nor understand how a person who has the beautiful, wonderful Counsellor, Holy Spirit dwelling in them, have soul ties. Yes, satan will try and convince us otherwise, but we need to exercise that faith. It's our flesh that is affected, not our born again spirit.
