Thank you so much for the great content, Tyson. Now I feel a lot more confident about tackling the same job on my 2011 EC 300. I am a bit worried I might have to split cases, as the bike has unknown hours. Measuring the rod play will tell, I guess!
Hi Tyson, thanks for the very comprehensive video. I'm going to replace the cylinder and piston of my EC 300 but I'm still a bit unsure about the best order. What do you think is the best practice when the engine is still in the motorcycle? First mount the piston to the connecting rod and then the cylinder or put the piston in the cylinder and then mount the piston plus cylinder to the connecting rod...
Good helpful vids mate.Did you use a factory piston or Wossner or some such?.Mines an ec200 thats well overdue for a new piston .Where abouts in NZ did you get your base gasket and did you reuse the head o rings or get new. Cheers Tony
Hi Tony. I believe that piston was a prox but I've used wossner before. I'm actually based in oz so a bit easier for parts here. You can pull the barrel off and leave the head on if you want to use the old orings, but if you remove the head id replace them.
Great video. Just one question. As you said that this Cylinder have 400 hours running, so it's first time you replacing the Piston or second time. Because I have seen the size on the had of the Piston it's written 66,35 ? On my bike EC 250 2T I have 98 hours, I don't know if I really need to replacing it?

Thanks mate great vid I'm just about to do my topend on my ec300 and this vid was the best walk though I have seen A++ you have my sub :)
Did a top end on my bike myself not long ago!!
That's good mate, hope it went well.
@@tysonsenduroworkshop5095 yeah the bike feels amazing now!

Piston onto connecting rod first mate. The c clips are the tricky part. Getting piston into the barrel is relatively easy.
I want to buy complete components for the 2012 Gasgas EC300 electric starter, can you help me, where should I buy it?

I usually do the top end every 80 or so hours, this is the 5th top end rebuild on this cylinder
hi, can you please tell me, on the clutch cover side, why you have this Aluminum screw? it is to adjust the powervalve? mine is casted.
Hey mate do you know if this is very similar to the 18-19 gas gas ec 300 and 21 rieju mr 300?
Yep same engine mate.
Hi Gasgasec250 is the cause of drowning after heating and warming up
Sorry, I don't understand your question....
You didn’t even hone the cylinder
No need to, it was fine....plus it's a nickasil bore... if you honed every top end, you'd go through the nickasil every 2 or 3 piston...
