I've been there a few days ago and I was amazed to see the amount of classic retro games within which reminded me of the games which I played during the time.
Looks like an awesome store! Great video Adam and thanks for the shout-out! Although I can't take any credit for getting Planet Ring back online. I made a video showing online gameplay but that's about it.
I'm totally geeking out over your recent shoptours. You can really tell the owners are passionate about keeping quality stuff available. Love it. Thanks for sharing!
its definitely worth a trip to Cardiff for the two stores you featured this week. i must admit, i'd have previously considered it waaaay too far to travel for game hunting, us Brit's definitely have a different idea of what a 'long distance trip' is. it was cool to see the retro magazines there too.. that store really is a labour of love. good to see. i wish i'd kept all my old gaming magazines.. i had saved them for years but then got rid of them when i was goin thru a 'not playing much' period. i hate me from that time.
Yeah, you guys really do. People got liked pissed at me for suggesting a 20 minute ride was "near by." Come to the US where a 20 minute drive is "down the street."
Shadow of memories was released in America under the title shadow of Destiny, I first played it on pc and loved it, only costed me 3 bucks at a bargain store. It was also released on ps2 and psp under the American title.
oh I thought you were talking about the ps2 one lol my bad dude, that game was amazing on any console, bit to me, seeing it on pc first, from a bargain bin, the look and feel of the gameplay was breath taking.
I've been to this store when I was visiting my aunt recently. It's a shame that the prices they offer to buy stuff off you ( trade in rates) is very low . I wanted to trade in a copy of world heroes jet 2 neo geo aes complete and they offered me less then the average ebay price.
how is a shop meant to survive if they give you the price it sells for on ebay, a shop has bills, wages and rent to pay so they have to give less to make a profit! if you wanted to get what they are worth then sell them for yourself on ebay and pay the fees, the fact you went into the shop expecting what the game is worth is rather idiotic
If you treat your customers well ,people will speak of good things about the shop if they treat their customers fairly. I am no idiot ,if they rip people off they deserve to go bust.
Tom was kind enough to ship me a PAL Gamecube, however, I have to ask Adam, can a PAL GC work with a North American a/c adapter? Or would that fry the console? I'm prepared to get a different cable, I just need to know.
AdamKoralik To have a SCART compatible Gamecube. I do plan to get a scart to hdmi converter box, and with a Nintendo multi out cable, I can use it for my SNES along with my N64, once I RGB mod it. I could either get a GC component cable for at least $150, if I were lucky, or for the same price, get a PAl GC, a converter box, a mod chip, and a scart cable. I think the latter was the better choice.
Oh man, I want that Final Fantasy XII so badly, Europe got the better version of the game. And they always get the better covers on Final Fantasy games too, since they always display Yoshitaka Amano's artwork.
What a cool shop, I cant find anywhere remotely this thorough in Ireland... :( I would like to set up a similar business but I really wonder if the market is there for it. Thanks for the look Adam, appreciated as always.
Heh. I can get to the city, but I have no idea how to find the store, is it near to the train station or bus station? Last time I was there I couldn't even find GAME. lol.
Very cool store i live near london and retro games stores are rare nower days :( I like the japanese dreamcast cases best ( street fighter 2 grand master edition :). I like he has loads of anime in store too it's big here with gamers. Cowbop bebop , Hellsing , ghost in shell :). Games cost so much nower days this gen. We used to get loads of japanese megadrive games here 2nd hand from import stores when i was a kid and converters.
Hey man, Awesome video and absolutely love both Tom and Super Tomato, by far my favourite retro gaming shop! Im actually also the guy who painted that PS1 haha!
What a weird name for a video game store, just wandering when you will hit the Portugal video game store if ant, great video can't wait for the next one
They're lucky that the Sega Master System was more popular! I wish the US wasn't so blinded to Nintendo stuff (no offense) so many good looking exclusives they gotten!
neozeed1984 I'm hipp! Like a ton of them they had in brazil like Yuyu Hakusho Sunset Fighters, Duke Nukem 3D, the spainsh game show "Show do Milhao 1 & 2", Street Fighter 2 Sega Master System version, etc..
Hi adam love all your videos please could you try get a dirt cheap ps2 SLIM at goodwill or any store and clean it up only watch your clean up videos cause there the best
I go to Cardiff often and park by the museum. Never knew there was a retro video game store near by. I go there next time.
I actually visited there yesterday and I'm glad that I did! Brilliant place ❤️
My god Wales has two decent shops. In the 23 years I lived there the only thing I found was herpes
Ha...
I got my reconditioned NES from here. Top store and great guy!
The name of that store is definitely inspired of the Super Potato store in Akihabara, Tokyo.
Not according to what I was told.
I went there once, it was known as Otakuzaku and I bought a bunch of SNES games and Alundra from there
I've been there a few days ago and I was amazed to see the amount of classic retro games within which reminded me of the games which I played during the time.
I live just down the road from there (uni student), picked up some great stuff and the guys that work there are so helpful!
The name of this store HAS to be a play on Super Potato in Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan. If it isnt, major coincidence hahaha
Definitely. The giant glass cases and merchandise selection in general is also very Akihabara-like.
I thought it was a Shenmue reference
My dad had a ZX spectrum. He loved it.
Looks like an awesome store! Great video Adam and thanks for the shout-out! Although I can't take any credit for getting Planet Ring back online. I made a video showing online gameplay but that's about it.
That's more than I did, so, you get the shout out.
AdamKoralik If you say so. You're the boss! lol
***** Did you get any kind of boost in subs or views?
I did. I was actually wondering where they came from before I watched this video. I got about 7 or so subs in an hour.
***** Awesome!
I'm totally geeking out over your recent shoptours. You can really tell the owners are passionate about keeping quality stuff available. Love it. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching.
I had a Mega PC in 1993, it was so incredible!
Wow excellent store here, may drive up to check out the goodies :)
Yep me too, Looks to be worth the drive!
This is a shop I would like. Too bad I don't live in the UK.
Love all his sega stuff and "sega stuff is close to my heart". So cool. What a great store hope they are open still today.
I hope I will be able to pass by these stores at a school trip this year to Cardiff( as well as the other capitals of the British Isles.).
Another game store by me? Damn I feel lucky. This one is even closer than the last!
"you can break them with a feather"
True story. I got broken sealed games.
Sigh another shop to go check out! I am in cardiff next weekend, if I get the time will go check it out
You'll have fun.
Awesome shop! May have to take a road trip there one day! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching.

2:13 that oddworld ps1 is beautiful
How much do they sell the dreamcast console and average prices on games or bundle prices?
I am definitely checking this place our next time I'm in the UK.
Shadow of memories was released in America under the title shadow of Destiny, I first played it on pc and loved it, only costed me 3 bucks at a bargain store. It was also released on ps2 and psp under the American title.
I meant for the XBox.
oh I thought you were talking about the ps2 one lol my bad dude, that game was amazing on any console, bit to me, seeing it on pc first, from a bargain bin, the look and feel of the gameplay was breath taking.
do you know what the pacman2 was selling for i don't wanna sell mine but i wanna know

Why would a shop give you ebay prices as trade in?

So in order for you to speak well of them they should give an ebay value?
Tom was kind enough to ship me a PAL Gamecube, however, I have to ask Adam, can a PAL GC work with a North American a/c adapter? Or would that fry the console? I'm prepared to get a different cable, I just need to know.
The power supply will work fine, though good luck getting the games to display properly on your NTSC TV.
AdamKoralik
That's why I'm getting a mod chip to make it region free.
ShogunGin0 Why do you want a PAL GameCube if you intend to run NTSC games on it?
AdamKoralik
To have a SCART compatible Gamecube. I do plan to get a scart to hdmi converter box, and with a Nintendo multi out cable, I can use it for my SNES along with my N64, once I RGB mod it.

ShogunGin0 Are you sure that will work?
Great video, Thanks for showing, Lots of awesome stuff.
Thanks for watching.
This store looks awesome. I wish my town had a store like this.
Oh man, I want that Final Fantasy XII so badly, Europe got the better version of the game. And they always get the better covers on Final Fantasy games too, since they always display Yoshitaka Amano's artwork.
How much were the n64 consoles at super tomato???
What was the pricing like in the two stores you visited Adam?
I would say very reasonable. They intentionally undercut EBay averages.
that's good to know lol. I need to plan a trip to cardiff
need to visit here soon
Does anyone know the name of the company that does the custom painted Playstations?
The awesome custom PSOne was produced for us by Iwazaru-Marionette Illustration: iwazaru-marionette.tumblr.com/
That's my local store.....I just had a stroke.
Hey Adam, whats your opinion on the PlayStation TV, and would you consider it a gaming console?
The store name is epic!
I put this song while i was watching your Video lol Awesome Store!
Tomato Convenience Store 10 Hours
I approve.
FYI thanks for this Adam im leaving on November 15th for london and im gonna catch a train to Cardiff and visiting this store.
Make sure to go to Next Level Games too if you can! Also, let them (both NLG and Super Tomato) know you saw my video if you don't mind. ^_^
Will do :), Pretty sure Next level isnt too far away from cardiff
John Smith
I was able to take a bus there.
Is super tomato associated with super potato (in Japan )?
They are not.
Then it's a funny coincidence :-)
Alec C
Gets better, the owner's name is Tom Ato. :P
Ha ha . Great channel, I love your videos
Alec C
Awesome store!!!, thanks for posting this Adam
Thanks for watching.
This was an excellent video. I liked the guided tour format I thought what you guys discussed made the video more entertaining.
Thanks for taking the time to watch.
Dude, have You heard about the fan shenmue hd remake, If yeah, can You make a video about It?
I've heard many times.
Honestly, there isn't much for me to say about it. It looks neat, but I doubt anything will come of it.

What a cool shop, I cant find anywhere remotely this thorough in Ireland... :( I would like to set up a similar business but I really wonder if the market is there for it. Thanks for the look Adam, appreciated as always.

I've never seen a non black WrestleMania 2000 N64 cartridge.

At the moment that oddworld one is the only one available, and they for the most part go to Super Tomato Cardiff
I live in Australia :(
Awesome vid Adam! Did you manage to get your copy of Shadow of Memories?
I did eventually, yes.
Ahh okay cool dude, I got it, and could have sent it over if you were still struggling to find it
TheSkillJim I appreciate that, but you wouldn't have to do that.
...If you have any Saturn exclusives...I might take you up on that. > : D
I don't have many Saturn games, what are you after?
TheSkillJim Oh it's a long list, don't worry about it. I was kidding.
Huh he has Gundam instock. I may go here if I go to Cardiff
Kool video I've actually been there it is awesome will like to see what you pick up
You won't have to wait long.
So cool!
If you were visually impaired you would want our UK PS2.cases.
What a weird name for a video game store, just wandering when you will hit the Portugal video game store if ant, great video can't wait for the next one
This video always pops up in my recommendations, and the title ALWAYS reminds me of the Tomato Mart theme song. How’s that for a full shenmue circle?
Ha.
Looks awesome. Will have to try and check and this out. Did you visit London? There's a few there.
Sadly no, I just flew in and out of there.
AdamKoralik
Ah OK. Pretty cool you came to the UK though :)
Any recommendation for London?
*****

They're lucky that the Sega Master System was more popular! I wish the US wasn't so blinded to Nintendo stuff (no offense) so many good looking exclusives they gotten!
neozeed1984 I'm hipp! Like a ton of them they had in brazil like Yuyu Hakusho Sunset Fighters, Duke Nukem 3D, the spainsh game show "Show do Milhao 1 & 2", Street Fighter 2 Sega Master System version, etc..
