November 2024 will mark two years since Wednesday first premiered on Netflix, which leaves viewers wondering why Wednesday season 2 is taking so long. Tim Burton's The Addams Family spinoff stars Jenna Ortega as the eponymous Wednesday Addams. The dark comedy series follows the gothic teen as she attends Nevermore Academy, a boarding school for "outcasts." While there, Wednesday becomes infatuated with a string of mysterious crimes, which leads her to uncover a villain hiding in plain sight.
Wednesday was a massive hit for Netflix. Audiences of all ages and demographics were invested in the unblinking and slightly sadistic Wednesday Addams, to the point where Wednesday remains the third-most-watched Netflix show in its first month of streaming. After binging all eight episodes of the first season, many audience members were eager for season 2. Wednesday season 1 left many unresolved questions like who Wednesday's stalker was, what would happen to Tyler, and if Principal Weems is really dead. Unfortunately, the wait has been much longer than anticipated.

Why September 2025? The first episode was November 2022. Nearly three years will have passed since season 1 and you can’t blame the strike because it only lasted 5 months.
So you’re saying you don’t think many of the actors might have had other movie or TV show roles waiting for them during whatever break they had while the writers were coming up with more episode scripts before and after the strike? Plus, there might have been personal issues that people involved with the show had to deal with before they could get back to work.
@@gwa73 Usually contacts will prevent actors from working on other projects especially when you’re working on season 2 of a huge hit. I’m not just talking about Wednesday, I’m talking about almost all streaming shows. You often get 10 shows and then two or more years later you get another 10 shows. Two years between seasons makes no business sense. Some percentage of the shows fan base will forget all about the show and new fans will be less inclined to invest in a show that takes a two year hiatus.
