damn, what a coach. took responsibility, gave ucf credit. The man looks like a pediatrician 🤣🤣. He seems like a good person though so thats all that matters😊😊😊.
UCF is No. 24 in adjusted defense on Kenpom. They force turnovers, teams shoot a low percentage against them, and tonight -- over the last 23 minutes -- the Knights slowed the pace, trapped, played passing lanes to create deflections, forced turnovers and rebounded the ball. KU had 18 turnovers, most of which were forced. The zone was killer. It was a trap game for KU between TCU and No. 9 OU, but UCF punched Kansas in the mouth late in the first half and KU didn't respond.
From a lifelong Hawks fan, we're not a top 20 team. I don't see the mental toughness and certainly don't see the athletic ability from this team, 1-5, like we've been accustomed to. UCF demonstrated much more athletic prowess. This is the first year in a long time that I've seen a lack of assertiveness to drive to the hoop, crash the boards, and play solid defense; why do we switch on D all the time? Are we just lazy? Back in the day we fought through screens and stayed with our man.
@@teeball5523 I’d say you are completely wrong about our not being a Top 20 team. Like Gary Parrish of CBS Sports said……no other team in the country has 3 wins over teams like Kansas does over UConn, Tennessee, and Kentucky, teams currently ranked No. 4, 5, and 6 in this week’s AP Top 25. If we had pulled this out we’d be 14-1 against a very challenging schedule so far. As it is we are 13-2, and we’ve played, as usual a tough non-conference schedule. Personally, I think Johnny Furphy has legit star potential. If Self gives him enough time, Furphy can be that 5th guy who will make this team extra hard to beat in March.
@@karlpage9028 But that wasn’t at UCF. I wonder who will finish higher in the Big 12 standings. Kansas has already beaten UConn, Tennessee, and Kentucky who are currently ranked No. 4,5,6 in the AP. You think K State would beat those 3 teams?
And K-state isnt ranked, but KU is #2..So you're saying KU shouldn't have lost? Since they beat all of those teams but lost to lowly UCF?.... @@wiltchamberlainisthegoat13
From a Kansas fan, you guys have some really good players, very athletic. If you can get consistent, the Knights could be a legit NCAA Tournament team and make some major noise.
Did anyone ask Self if he condones or coaches all the cheap shots? I have no issue with good physical basketball, but the last two game weve seen a KU player who's built like adonis karate chop a TCU player in the collarbone to dislodge a rebound, And tonight we saw another player pull a Draymond Green, and then we saw Hunter's little antics as the buzzer sounded
The Big 12 has been a very physical conference for many years just like the Big Ten is or used to be. You forgot to mention that Ernest Udeh of TCU elbowed Hunter in the side of Hunter’s head (not intentional) when Ernest was trying to clear space after a rebound. I’ve seen the replay. Ernest elbowed him for sure. Intentional or not, by the rules that’s a Flagrant 1 because it was an elbow that landed above the neck. But you didn’t mention that.
I was at the game; Timberlake tied the ball up and was the only Hawk I saw on the floor with determination. He showed no disrespect, played fair, and that play itself should have lit a fire under the rest of the team; it did not. UCF a week earlier got ran over by K State in a game that was never close. No prowess by Hawks 😒
@@wiltchamberlainisthegoat13 Udoh forearmed Hunter.. Stop calling it an elbow. And every P5 conference is physical. Ever watch Tennesssee play? Their tougher than the football team
Like so many people on social media, you’re making a comment with little or no knowledge of what you are talking about. North Carolina admitted (finally) that for over 20 years they created FAKE CLASSES that required little to no academic work for basketball and football players in order to keep them eligible. This gave UNC a HUGE recruiting advantage over their rivals once players found out that by going to UNC, they wouldn’t have to do hardly any coursework. It started back in the 90s and continued past 2010. UNC’s 2005 and 2009 championship teams were LOADED with INELIGIBLE PLAYERS. Even a few UNC professors said that the 2005 and 2009 titles should have been vacated. Everyone assumed they would be vacated, but after 5 years, the NCAA decided to do nothing. It was the biggest scandal in colleges basketball history. But the NCAA won’t do anything to Duke or UNC. Regarding Self, both the FBI and the IARP said SELF HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF ADIDAS PAYING THE FAMILIES OF TWO PLAYERS one of whom never played for KU. The other was Silvio DeSousa who SELF MADE SIT OUT OVER AN ENTIRE YEAR until the NCAA CLEARED HIM TO PLAY. Then they turn around and say Kansas shouldn’t have played him. Self stopped recruiting Zion Williamson once Williamson demanded $100,000 to play for Kansas. So Kansas stopped recruiting Zion and Zion ended up at Duke. ZION’S FORMER AGENT SAID THAT DUKE OR NIKE PAID ZION $400,000 to play for Duke. SO WHERE IS THE INVESTIGATION OF DUKE?????
Both the FBI and the IARP stated that Self had no knowledge whatsoever about payments made to two players one of whom (Billy Preston) never played for Kansas. The other player was Silvio DeSousa who Self made sit out for over AN ENTIRE YEAR until the NCAA finally cleared him to play. On the other hand, NORTH CAROLINA CHEATED FOR OVER 20 YEARS BY MAKING FAKE CLASSES for basketball and football players who had to do little or no coursework.
