Glad you had an easy install, I had a PIA. Your kit contains a different (older) version of the Davies Craig 678 cooler - it only has 21 rows compare to the current 678/698 coolers which have 23 rows. I purchase the brackets seperately and bought my own 678 cooler and 698 cooler/fan to mount on the front and back of the brackets. I got a big shock when the top bracket holes didn't line up. I had to drill somes new holes in the brackets to get it to fit. The potential downside for some one who buys the kit is that they won't be able to do my double mount hack as the 678/698s don't match the one in the kit. BTW, Kaon has now de-listed the brackets (for 3ltr versons) off the web site.
Good job… you made it look relatively easy, albeit a bit fiddly where those hoses join. I have a 2019 GX and looking to do same. I have had trans coolers on previous vehicles and view them as extra insurance to protect the vehicle even though I don’t tow anything heavy. Was that some fancy hose cutter you used ? Also, a little off topic; did I note in one of your instagram photos from the WA 4WD show your vehicle has a hidden winch mounted? Cheers
Thanks legend! :) Wasn’t too bad I don’t reckon, just a bit fiddly, well worth it though! We would over heat the trans every time we drove on a beach with deep sand. So will be interesting to see how much of a difference it makes. That was a Nylon tube cutter, not the tool for the job but works perfectly for it haha Yep! We made one ourselves for our Saber winch, you can see videos on that over on our TikTok.
