Thank you this is so helpful! My partner & I are getting married just the two of us in Tuscany. How will this work with witnesses? Do we have to have them? Or can we get official witnesses from the Town Hall in Siena?

Hi this video is great, and has really simplified the steps - thank you so much. We have a wedding planner, but am I right in thinking that my partner (who is Australian- has lived in England Right of Abode, has an Australian passport) doesn't need to get any of his documents legalised in the UK first? We have booked an appointment at the Australian Embassy days before we get married to get his Nulla Osta. I'm panicking and worried - what if I miss something out. Thanks, Leanne x

Hi Leanne, great to hear! No, your partner needs to go through the Australian steps separately. We made a guide for that here: www.lalista.com/shop/p/aus-civil-guide

@La Lista thank you so much, I have just purchased this. When it says take the documents to your town hall - does this mean where we live in England?
We get married on Friday 7 July 2023, at the Palace of Campidoglio - Capitoline Hill in Rome.
We have booked an appointment with the Australian embassy on Monday 3rd July for the Nulla Osta, then he gets the docs legalised by Ora at Prefettura, then we will attend an appointment on Thursday 6th July for the Atto Notorio with 4 witnesses - does this sound right?
Does he need to get his decree absolute, birth certificate stamped first before we fly out, I'm so worried that i might miss something 😢

@@leannepoxton4492 you should have a declaration with your Italy town hall before the ceremony where you take your UK documents (legalised in the UK, then legalised and translated in Italy) and his documents that, if you follow the process you've outlined above for his Aus process, will be correct. Very hard and risky for me to give this advice over TH-cam comments so advise getting professional help! Thanks, L x

Hi Hannah I also have this question. Did you find the answer?
Also do both the CNI and Statutory declaration need to be notarised before being legalised (Apostilled?) struggling to find this answer

@@lucyscott3597 yes they both need to be sent for the stamp- I also had to send my birth certificate as the place I’m Sicily getting married requested this
I’m currently waiting for them to be completed and then you do have to send to Italy
I got in contact with someone in the city and they have me all the info needed

      @@hannaholdham2629 thankyou for your reply,💕
Just checking I understand. Do you mean both forms need to be stamped as in legalised - apostilled ?
Before this did you also get both forms CNI + statutory declaration Notarised ( officially signed ) before sending to be apostilled ?

      My process (still on going)
      CNI
Statutory declaration(which is signed by the solicitor)
They both then get sent away to get apostille stamp :)

Ok that’s what I understood to be the process too.

How long will it take a translator to translate the four documents approximately?

    • @lalistaweddings
      @lalistaweddings  ปีที่แล้ว

It normally takes a couple of weeks - it is both translation and legalisation and that takes time as it must go through a judge.

You need six months to get married
