I really love the ladies at 9:05 and the one on the right has such an elegant pose. That would look so lovely realized into a colored painting with all the pretty foliage in her hair. Beautiful tour!
I love your sketchbook! It's a nice mix of messy doodles and finish pieces. Some of the pieces that you said you didn't like and were bad - I actually liked a lot!
I adore your artstyle so much 😊 I´m also a huge fan of beetles so I have a little series on my IG where I draw beetles 😊 You have inspired me to start drawing more people so THANK YOU for that 😊
have you noticed much difference between this 90 lb 100% cotton Strathmore mixed media paper, and their Cellulose 90 lb mixed media paper? I have the latter and it seems to handle watercolor ok. But I must confess I have not tried cotton paper yet. I'm afraid to use the Arches I have
I'm sorry I don't think have tried their regular cellulose 90 lb version. I understand feeling intimidated by Arches. I typically use thicker papers (140 lb) and for that I really like Fabriano's cotton version (slightly more affordable alternative to Arches) or housebrand papers (I use Gerstaecker). But for more affordable options that are not cotton I really enjoy the Winsor & Newton Classic watercolor paper and even more budget friendly; the Canson XL Aquarelle. Kind of takes the pressure off from having to create masterpieces!
@@N1MHLING I got a 16 x 12 inch block of ARches i think. As a beginner I kept hearing you can't really learn watercolor unless you do it on cotton paper. But I was thinking I could divide each sheet into 4 pieces of smaller paper, and use front and back, so the price seemed easier. Thanks for your other suggestions. I hear good things about Fabriano, including that it's easier to make your own sketchbook with that paper because if you fold Arches it tends to crack at the fold.
Hello!! I love your sketches and finished paintings omg!! May i ask if white nights are good to work with and if they feel more high quality than Van gogh (bc i own a VG set).
Thanks so much! Hmm I really like the White Nights paints, I somehow still levitate towards them the most. Van Gogh paints are super liftable which sometimes means i lift up layers that I wanted to stay. On the other hand I don't like super staining paints either because it's harder to correct mistakes. For me the White Nights is a good in between. Some of their paints are a bit weird/not traditional, like the Cerulean Blue - However I still like their shade. I think the price/quality ratio of both brands is really great!
Thanks so much! ♥ No, I am not Japanese in any sense! (I am Dutch), but I do find the culture very inspirational (even to the point where I took part of a student exchange program in my teens and I studied Japanology for a bit in Uni), but I am inspired by a lot of different cultures in general!
