This is exactly how my dad and all the vaqueros broke horses . I’m from south Texas so we had Mexican cowboys working on the ranch every day. Wicked good horsemen. Thanks for the video.

Horses are indeed horses; we need to remember to work with them where they're at today, not necessarily where they were yesterday nor where we'll want them to be tomorrow.
    BTW, that's a notional colt there! 😅

good deep footing to both cushion and wear 'em down a bit. I've seen colts started in deep water and fresh plowed fields to same effect. I always like the young ones 'cause you can wear them down a bit and it's easier to unbalance them if they get silly. Nice QH lines you're working with and it shows in their movements and their thinking. Great job!

I always figure the good one buck at the begging. I've had a couple that wouldn't buck at all getting saddled the first time and nothing phased them ,but those are the ones a month into it that blow big time when you have a job to do. I love that big round pen for starting colts.

Anyway I like how your patient with your horses and don’t push them to far, your also very kind to then as well, keep up the good work,I like the method you use and are very calm around them, with all the horses you train and care for, even though they probably annoy you,you stay very calm and don’t get frustrated
