The most electrifying and most humble player in NFL history. 😍😍

Barry was the best running back ever! If he would play just two more years he would have Emma Smith’s record, and Emma Smith could’ve never touched him

#1 was incredible, leaving 11 cowboys laying on the ground... but my personal fav was the #2, when he turned the defender 360 degrees.

Fun fact: on play 13, the guy that eventually tackled Barry is current Lions DC Aaron Glenn. I was also in the building for the game where Barry threw his lone interception. He attempted 4 passes in his career, going 1 for 4 with that one pick. It was a touchback(KC picked it off in the end zone), and eventually they lost 28-24, but it’s an interesting bit of history

Poor Jimmy Williams (8:29 in the video). Started his career with the Lions, and left for the Vikings just in time for this play.
Not long after, he coached a couple years of college ball, and is now a HS coach.

The punishment Barry took from tacklers over the course of his career is probably the same as your average starting RB takes in a season. He might get knocked off balance, get wrestled to the ground, or get snagged at the ankle, but nobody knocked him out of his shoes. He never got up slow, never got his bell rung.

He did all of this behind the worst O line in the NFL. He retired at around 1400 yds short of Walter Payton's record. He accomplished all of this in just 10 yrs

You are really fun to listen to. I ALWAYS watch Barry Reactions. EVERYONE is delighted and the excitement is still there. 1989-1999. By the way, since your remarks are so entertaining, why not look into this OSU (Oklahoma St) highlights - Only 34 NCAA records in two years - before his senior year!

I used to work for a regional airline at Detroit Metro. Barry flew out on us often.
I'd say, realistically, he was about 5'9" or 5'10".
The most amazing thing(s) though was his thighs. Each of his thighs were the size of an average grown man's waist... Incredible.

8:19 that man need like 3 arms to touch Barry after the space he created with that move.

Barry Sanders never missed a Pro Bowl. He AVERAGED over 1500 rushing yards a season. He only had one season with fewer than 1300 rushing yards-the season when he sat out 5 games. He was the best football player, any position, some years. He won a league MVP at RB with over 2000 rushing yards one season, and finished second in MVP voting another season. His offensive line was not good, and defenses keyed in on him every gameplan. And just watch the footage. The best running back of all time; it’s not remotely close. -Sincerely, a Titans fan

Barry embarrassed some great defenders. Clip 8 has John Lynch for the Bucs getting frozen at the line a scrimmage and he’s in the HOF. Ken Norton for the Cowboys (51) and Joey Browner (47) of the Vikings were great defenders but nobody in league history was more dangerous in the open field than Barry. There has been stronger and faster runners than Barry but nobody had the moves that he did. His legs were so strong and his lack of height made it so tough for defenders to find him through the lineman until he flew by them. His could change direction so quickly it seemed to defy the laws of physics. If he played longer he would have sailed past Walter and Emmitt’s records.

MOST YDS consecutive is 15269 yds in 10 seasons and is an NFL RB record that will NEVER BE TOUCHED .....and the only player to do that is named BARRY SANDERS, the next closest RB is behind Barry by over 400 yds. FACTS, BARRY was the GOAT of RBs

G.O.A.T and no one else has ever been close .....if anyone says so they either have no clue or are spitting biased BS. This dude averaged .7 yards per carry more than L.T. over his career and almost a yard more per carry over Walter ....it aint close. Crazy mad skills we will never see again. As a starter in college for 1 year the dude averaged 248 yards per game rushing, over 300 all purpose yards per game and 3.2 TDs . Yes , that is correct PER GAME .
