Really enjoyed using the hollowslayer greatsword and so this weapon was just a natural choice for me
I've never really connected the two but now that you say it I totally see it.
Some of the other greatswords have that moveset aswell

I loved that moveset in ds3. So I’m happy they brought it over to Elden Ring.
Hollowslayer was my soulmate in ds3 but in elden ring GS are just so mediocre now....RIP true combos
Man do I love Geatswords. Either Two-Handing or Power Stancing them they are so much fun! The different attack change ups and varied movesets have made me use them over anything else.
Oh yeah. Greatswords were easily my favorite weapon class in DS3, and they make a hell of a showing in this game too.

I love the Banished Knight set! Could you try out the sword of milos with the regal omen bairn for a dung eater build?
This is one of the only weapons I’ve found success with the double slash Ash of War on. It’s range gets underestimated a lot, and it has slower swings than Corpse Piler, for which the timings of people are much more used to.
I want him to use it on Occult Flamburge for that reason. Roll catching and bleed make it a great combo. Adding Shard of Alexander is just a bonus.

Flaming strike is such a great ash of war man it compliments whatever weapon it's on

YESSS flaming strike or spinning slash are my favorite aows on this

Chase, I liked the video but I really think you should’ve used the 2 handed moveset with one sword. It’s a very smooth moveset and stunlocks pretty well. You can also catch panic rolls with it decently. But good video regardless this is one of my favorite swords in the game.

You forgot to mention the uncharged heavy + light attack true combo the weapon has intrinsically, making it one of the very few weapons that have combos without use of an aow

I like running a sort of stance switch playing style where I use the banished greatsword and the claymore and switch between dual wield and two handed between the two swords. Both are greatswords but with drastically different movesets and space coverage with some nice mix-up potential

I need to try out Raptors of the Mist. I never see it used, and you could create a whole build around it. It's also very fitting for the cosplay, since the Castle Sol Knights vanish and reappear then attack.

Hey Chase, does the jumping 2HR1 combo into a regular 2HR1 when you poise break on the jumping attack. Also, is there an advantage of the regular 2HR1 compared to the other Greatswords?
This was my first character's weapon. Faith build. He used it flame art with giant hunt. He had the banished knight's shield as well. It was good.

Been power stancing the Forked Greatsword and absolutely slapping with them. Great uncommon weapon with some style.
I used it with a pure sorcery/faith build with flame art and it scaled beautifully. Two handing let me use it properly.
Definitely one of my favorite greats swords in the game, it looks cool and is good in PvP and PvE
both the banished knight and knight greatsword are AMAZING swords with the Fluid greatsword two hand moveset...
Im not sure if you know about this chase, but while two handed you can do an uncharged heavy + light attack true combo. This makes throwing in heavy mixups very rewarding, and does more damage than a claymore stormstomp + uncharged heavy
The Non-Alternate Helmet and Chest piece of the Banished knight armor are my favorite took me forever to grind for the chest piece
Gonna recommend the Lucerne again. However also want to throw the pickaxe in with that.. while using the spear talisman

The lucerne is bugged and doesn't have piercing damage for it's neutral R1's like it did in ds3. So in that regard, it is sadly a worthless weapon in comparison to the other halberds.

Would enjoy it if you tried doing some sort of dagger build! It's something I really, really want to be viable, but it's disappointing that it seems you need to use heavy armor to poise trade.
If you have other tips, would be nice to see!
I use dual great swords a lot lol, jump at spears charging you and jump attack them in the face, or just jump in place. It's my only recourse lol

Awesome video as always Chase, but god damn did those invasions just end immediately. The first guy I almost felt bad for, the second duo were wayy too aggro with their 900 hp each and could barely do a thing D: and the last one didn't seem to have noticed his summon getting rolled o-o
But you can really just look at the video length and get an idea about how strong a weapon/setup you showcase is lol

Ayyy, my favorite weapon finally getting some recognition. Also this weapon is pretty good at higher levels if you make it blood, has good arcane, strength, and dex scaling.
You should do the Dragon Halberd next. The lightning/cold combo just rips through armor. It's insanely broken in the rain too.
Btw it scales even better with faith especially with the buffs. The damage is just nasty on these greatswords

Hoping to see the Golden Order GS soon, definitely one of my favorite weapons to use. AOW has some really good hyperarmor and can deal a lot of damage, especially the projectile (you’re welcome grammar nazi who corrected me last video).

pretty sure that this weapon has a unique two-handed move set. would have been nice to see it in the video
Ya didnt get to showcase it but i dont even know if you're aware of it, but the banished knight greatsword (along with the others that share the hollowslayer moveset) has a near guaranteed Jumping R1 -> R1 combo since the swing is a little bit faster than standard greatswords but the stun is the same. This only works when 2 handing the sword, however. Try it out whenever you get to the other ones, it is the one hidden thing about greatswords i've known for a while and have seen NOBODY utilize in any capacity.
This is my favorite backstep r1 remind me of the paired ultragreatswords from dark souls 3
