As someone who has never played a resident evil game I thought the show was mediocre. It took super long for the plot to move along especially in the flashbacks and the action was sparse, not to mention lacking. Overall it felt unfinished, rushed, and like the directors didn't even know what the plot was going to be halfway through the show.
Its basically some cops paying a visit in the forest in the middle of the night, being attacked by zombie doggos, get inside of the playboy mansion and discover the whole place is a huge lab

In order to get a real adaption to RE it would have to be made by classic horror creators because they're style aligns with RE. The campy non serious characters and scripts mixed with brutal gory violence are very reminiscent of the way classic horror movies were made. Modern attempts to steal its elements to then be improved by narcissistic politically motivated inexperienced writers will never work. At this point its hard to say how long it will take for movie/tv people to trust the video games stories and work with them not against them. When we have a**wipes who always think they know better. It never crosses their mind that maybe this thing is popular as it is and if I change it. Its magic gets destroyed in the process.

RE4 is probably already a giftwrapped piece of fun corny horror action movie. Just stitch the cutscenes together with action segments, get actors who resemble the characters deliver the corny lines and you have yourself a high production so bad it's good movie at worst.

Pretty sure the Calais plot line is another woke political commentary on the illegal immigration issue facing the UK. For context Calais is like the UKs version of the Mexico border, where all of the illlegal immigrants congregate who are trying to get into the UK. We have a huge issue with human traffickers (aided by liberal “charities”) bringing thousands of migrants (mostly young and male) into the UK illegally.

If I had the chance to make my ideal resident evil story in the form of a series it would be: 1. Entirely made in the RE engine so better blend the characters and enemies and the world.(bad CGI can really ruin a good movie/series) 2. It would show the actual raccoon city outbreak from the very beginning as well as from the point of view of regular citizens. 3. It would probably focus on characters either from outbreak or connected to characters from outbreak. 4. It would showcase the more tragic points of the outbreak (people's family and friends and even pets becoming infected, hell more than likely even household plants became deadly paired with the fact that literally nobody knew what was going on until it was too late) 5. It would show well known locations of raccoon city as well entirely new locations. 6. It would also show what happened to the other small town who's water supply came from victory lake. 7. The zoo would have several of its own episodes 8. Rita would be one of the main characters 9. It would show an in depth look at raccoon city before the outbreak (I cant think of a single time that's actually been done, every time we see raccoon city it's usually already in complete chaos and we've only seen glimpses of it when it was normal.

@Argent Wolf, the book (2033) was simply brilliant and I intend to read 2035. I started playing the games, which are pretty decent, but Last Light and 2033 suffer from trying to mimic Call of Duty.
@Argent Wolf, I disliked the use of quick time events and scripted horde segments. The game does improve in the later sections, similar to Metro 2033, but you can tell it was made in the era where every FPS game borrowed some ideas from the Call of Duty titles.

As someone who has never played a resident evil game I thought the show was mediocre. It took super long for the plot to move along especially in the flashbacks and the action was sparse, not to mention lacking. Overall it felt unfinished, rushed, and like the directors didn't even know what the plot was going to be halfway through the show.
Its basically some cops paying a visit in the forest in the middle of the night, being attacked by zombie doggos, get inside of the playboy mansion and discover the whole place is a huge lab

In order to get a real adaption to RE it would have to be made by classic horror creators because they're style aligns with RE. The campy non serious characters and scripts mixed with brutal gory violence are very reminiscent of the way classic horror movies were made. Modern attempts to steal its elements to then be improved by narcissistic politically motivated inexperienced writers will never work.
At this point its hard to say how long it will take for movie/tv people to trust the video games stories and work with them not against them. When we have a**wipes who always think they know better. It never crosses their mind that maybe this thing is popular as it is and if I change it. Its magic gets destroyed in the process.

RE4 is probably already a giftwrapped piece of fun corny horror action movie. Just stitch the cutscenes together with action segments, get actors who resemble the characters deliver the corny lines and you have yourself a high production so bad it's good movie at worst.

Pretty sure the Calais plot line is another woke political commentary on the illegal immigration issue facing the UK.
For context Calais is like the UKs version of the Mexico border, where all of the illlegal immigrants congregate who are trying to get into the UK. We have a huge issue with human traffickers (aided by liberal “charities”) bringing thousands of migrants (mostly young and male) into the UK illegally.
Aside from that, the only Americans that would know of Calais's existence are WW2 buffs that know that the Germans were lead to believe the D-Day invasion would be around Calais rather than Normandy.

i was one of the poor masochistic saps who watched the whole damn thing and while it was full of plenty of stupid moments i think the worst was near the end... she brings a zombie onboard to test her magic zombie pheremone... tied up with light straps and with the excuse it was cold so it wouldn't be as strong or fast... okay ? what happens when it warms up considering you're in a temp controlled lab ? couldn't you test it on the boat you went out on ? was it completely necessary AS A SCIENTIST to have your daughter there to do the first test or to tell no-one you wanted a zombie for testing despite them supporting your cause entirely ?

Halfway through this video I was paying more attention to the background gameplay than that TV series and following game story, eager to see more. I know very little about Resident Evil but even this video on mute would be enough to show me which story reigns supreme.
If there's one thing that's been proven in the Resident Evil series its that even the baddest monsters can be killed by bullets to the right spot.

The zombie queen is stupid, however, I think they were trying to reference the female licker boss from Outbreak as it had a hive of male lickers that fought alongside it. My guess is that they were too lazy and too cheap to go with the actual boss and didn't want to spend more money on CGI stuff.

If I had the chance to make my ideal resident evil story in the form of a series it would be:
1. Entirely made in the RE engine so better blend the characters and enemies and the world.(bad CGI can really ruin a good movie/series)
2. It would show the actual raccoon city outbreak from the very beginning as well as from the point of view of regular citizens.
3. It would probably focus on characters either from outbreak or connected to characters from outbreak.
4. It would showcase the more tragic points of the outbreak (people's family and friends and even pets becoming infected, hell more than likely even household plants became deadly paired with the fact that literally nobody knew what was going on until it was too late)
5. It would show well known locations of raccoon city as well entirely new locations.
6. It would also show what happened to the other small town who's water supply came from victory lake.
7. The zoo would have several of its own episodes
8. Rita would be one of the main characters
9. It would show an in depth look at raccoon city before the outbreak (I cant think of a single time that's actually been done, every time we see raccoon city it's usually already in complete chaos and we've only seen glimpses of it when it was normal.

The plot here seems to be similar to me playing with LEGO figures when I was a kid, things happen because I decided to them suddenly happen like this out of nowhere. Convenient but appears to be made for very young kids if you judge by the intellect implied, yet the subject and gore? Makes no sense. Not that I really expected or wished to watch this waste of resources, I don't think any of the actors could show much talent in such shows.

It's not because the author is working that makes it good, unlike Steven Spielberg mostly directors won't actually listen to the author, they will just ask for minor things and adapt as they want or executive order says, it takes talent and consideration to work with an author in any adaptation

@Argent Wolf, the book (2033) was simply brilliant and I intend to read 2035. I started playing the games, which are pretty decent, but Last Light and 2033 suffer from trying to mimic Call of Duty.
@Argent Wolf, I disliked the use of quick time events and scripted horde segments. The game does improve in the later sections, similar to Metro 2033, but you can tell it was made in the era where every FPS game borrowed some ideas from the Call of Duty titles.

I think this would have been an okay tv show if it had a different name, and removed the few references to RE. I wouldn't have tuned in if it had a different name, though. I made it through 3 episodes and then watched a recap video.
