Hello ASL Heroes!!! Hey, I could really use your help. If you’ve enjoyed having access to an expert in ASL you can help me continue my work for you. A small monthly donation from you would instantly make a big difference here at the studio because teachers don’t earn much and I could use some help paying for server and domain hosting for Lifeprint.com. Right now you can help out a humble (not to mention kind, caring, generous, compassionate, helpful, friendly, fair, and hard-working) ASL teacher -- just go here and a few clicks later you too will be a true “ASL Hero!” www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=64QMBRBXQSV6G For more donation options, see: Lifeprint.com/donate Thanks! - Dr. Bill p.s. Warm regards and love to you all. :)
Thanks for explaining the signs for sugar and for these videos! I am surprised of how much I have learned because of you. ASL is my third language and I love it!!!
Thank you for all you do, Dr. Vicars. I just took up learning ASL early this year because I'm rapidly losing my hearing in my left ear. I'm taking an online course, but your videos are a tremendous help to me along my way. I very much appreciate everything you do. Thanks again.
Quick question for you or anyone else HOH, does anyone else have a problem with bass in speech or music seeming like it's far too loud compared to other noises? It physically hurts my inner ear when I get too much bass in my music. Anyone else have that problem?
Thanks so much for this, as always enjoyed it and learned some new signs. I have a trip out your way soon, hopefully the temps will cool down a bit when I'm out there :)
@@sign-language It went so well they have me going back again. :D Actually not too bad since things were opening up a bit. Was in San Jose and another trip in San Fran. Now they have me going to Sacramento on Saturday staying downtown around Old Sacramento. Hopefully the heat will let up a bit b4 then ;)
I have a question for you Mr. Vicars, I've seen your videos for a while now and checked how you have the full lenght courses of every word. I've seen how you explain it all and the lessons you give with detail, not only do i thank you for it, but i also have a question about it. Why did you decide to make a youtube channel with ASL lessons? I mean, there are courses where you HAVE to pay for, and you seem to be in a classroom with students and all, so i wonder why you though about doing it free? What crossed your mind when beginning this ? I would like to know since its something ive wondered, i thank you also for how good of a teacher you are and the lessons yoive given me. Thank you Mr. Vicars, i appreciate your help.
Josue, Language deprivation is a terrible thing. The vast majority of Deaf children are born to Hearing parents who do not know sign language. Many of those parents cannot afford to take ASL classes and/or have work schedules or other commitments that make attending in-person classes difficult or functionally impossible. I began offering free online ASL resources over 25 years ago as a way to help parents learn to communicate with their Deaf child.
